Where do I start? In 2012 I hurt my lower back while in the Navy. The Navy gave me Naproxen and said I'll be fine. Well its 2019 and I'm still not "fine." I was told by an orthopedic surgeon that I will have pain for the rest of my life unless I workout and stay flexible. Trying to find a personal trainer that I can trust and that wont hurt my injury was like finding a needle in a hay stack. I looked for ways to help myself for years and then through yelp I stumbled across, The Facility! I have been going to The Facility for about 2 months now. I am able to do things I haven't been able to do ever, like squat down (properly and using my legs to stand backup) to give my 4 year a piggyback ride. I am able to give my kids a bath without back pain. I am able to do squats once again and exercise without pain. Through going to The Facility I haven't been able to just do things I wasn't able to do, but I also learned how to exercise. Yes learned how to exercise.... I learned how to properly breathe during an exercise which makes a world of a difference and allows you to get a better workout. I learned how have proper form. Proper form is so important as to not have an injury. My trainer always helps me attain proper form, breathing technique, and makes sure nothing I do hurts my back. The Facility has been the best investment I have made in physical fitness. read more

Over my last 10 years, I have been in a struggle to find answers to permanent lifestyle changes, weight loss, muscle building and improving my health. All because, I was lost for DIRECTION and TRUTH that I can trust to make these changes. I have been through meniscus surgery in my right knee, bypass surgery and I still could not find a solution to change and reverse my situation. I still had knee pain and a lack of energy .....UNTIL April 19, 2018. I found my answers at THE FACILITY - FOR PERSONAL TRAINING in Boca Raton owned by a father-daughter team, Fred and Narisa Steinberg. Prior to my new adventure, I have been walking and walking (feeling like Forest Gump), and with the knowledge of a lifetime of weight lifting for sports or conditioning, OR WHAT I THOUGHT I HAD KNOWLEDGE OF, tried to do this myself, not knowing the secrets to unlocking my true potential. I worked with trainers at local gyms with what they called "TRAINERS", that have no knowledge of anatomy orthopedically or otherwise. I even tore my meniscus as a result of a training session with a trainer who pushed me indefinitely. THE FACILITY only hires trainers with four year degrees in Exercise Science, Physiology and Kinesiology. Only professionals are aloud to train their clients. The equipment is state of the art, custom built for safety and minimal joint pressure, geared only to apply stress on specific muscle groups, and after one month, I realized that in a one hour training session, I may do 20 to 30 different combinations of muscle building techniques with their weight machines and a combination of free weights and TRX techniques using my own body weight, only concentrating on one to two muscle groups per session. The Facility is a complete GOAL ORIENTED program. When you first start, they use the IN BODY analysis, which measures your whole body composition, of BODY FAT MASS vs. LEAN BODY MASS (Muscle), BMI (Body Mass Index) and PBF (Percent Body Fat). IN BODY even tracks a "Segmental Fat Analysis" and "Segmented Lean Analysis" which tells me the composition in separate body parts (TRUCK, LEGS , ARMS). Lastly and most important, every month after I train I redo the test to see how much body fat is lost and how much muscle mass is gained to develop a Body Composition History. Then the the work began!!! Fred assigned a personal trainer, John, who I would be working with 3 times a week. All well and good, but the program is set up such that the client and the trainer work as a TEAM to accomplish these goals. He is responsible for my results by knowing how far to push me to my next level for conditioning and muscle building, but I am responsible for my lifestyle outside The Facility in regards to how I eat, knowing my food groups to eats, and the foods within those groups. The trainers MUST succeed, and if they do, they get bonuses for your results. If they don't then you are assigned to a trainer that WILL get you the results, no questions asked. John has helped me understand my body, has showed me what each motion or segment of training does to each body part, makes sure that positioning is done right to accomplish the goal intended, and even discusses Nutrition to help guide proper nourishment during training. He pushes me to new levels, building new on new muscle. The Facility is not a "workout gym" but is a very medium size, professional, clean and well organized operation designed to meet the goals of the client. Many orthopedic doctors, cardiologists, nurses, professional athletes from all over come here to take control of their health and their life. Upstairs there is a men's and woman's locker room with a bathroom and shower. Towels are supplied by The Facility. There is also a lounge upstairs with a big screen TV to relax if you have time. The Facility is ranked #50 in the nation for a physical fitness facility by Men's Health and Yelp and #1 in the State of Florida. There is no membership fee or set commitment for sessions required. They will refund the money if sessions are payed in advance and not used. I pay for one month at a time for my 3 sessions a week. I want to give John a big Shout Out and THANK YOU, for the success so far in my first month. RESULTS: Lost 11 pounds of body fat, reduced my Body Fat Mass by 3%, Gained 1 pound of lean muscle and lost 7.5 lbs. on the IN BODY analysis, 10 lbs on my home scale. The first question people ask is "how much does it cost". My answer is this: It is relative to how much you care about your health and your body. I spent almost the same amount on a weeks worth of dining out, grocery bills are less and THERE IS NOT A PRICE TO PUT ON YOUR HEALTH. I want to thank Fred, Narisa and John for fulfilling a void that has now given me energy, youth and NO KNEE PAIN, anymore!!! I work outside the house for hours with no pain and a ton of energy and sleep better. Starting to feel like I am 15 years younger. THE JOURNEY CONTINUES!!! read more

This is the way to train ! Clean and direct training facility, hence the name, that offers one on one training by appointment only. No memberships. No contracts. No gimmicks. Straight forward and to the point. Most gyms have ridiculous cancellation requests or waiting periods and you don't realize until you're in that process and it becomes a frustration because it's in the "fine print" but Not here ! Fred, the owner, is to the point in what they are and who they are. It's a beautiful and clean facility ! CLEAN is an understatement !! This gym is a Boutique style facility that targets your goals in what you're trying to accomplish. If you're unsure, it's okay! They are very detailed in their assessments and ask you the questions that you were most likely not going to or know to ask. I had my first two assessments with Narissa, Fred's daughter, and Alec. They're both great ! Narissa is high energy and wants you to be comfortable throughout your assessment not pushing you too hard to see where you're at. Her and Alec discussed target areas for myself that needs to be worked on and tightened up. Although I haven't had too many sessions since I just went on a 2wk vacation but the few that I did, I know I'll be able to get back in to the swing of things and start my training again. I've been working one on one with Alec. Even though he's newer to the gym, he's really great! Flexible with times and making sure to ask how I feel after each work out that he provides to me to accomplish. If I need maybe a little more/less weight he works with me and doesn't push me to strain myself. Sometimes, less is more people ! Always has my file ready for my start time and we jump right in to my session. He isn't scrambling around the gym trying to think or find what he wants me to do next and I appreciate that ! We have 30 minutes and it's GO once I step in. Looking forward to making my appointments for next week as I just indulged on pizza, Pasta and carb overload in Italy ! Ciao ! read more

The staff was friendly, informative and well trained. The owner did a thorough evaluation and we determined what training was appropriate. The facility is clean and very well equipped. The philosophy behind the training is science based designed to increase fitness while protecting the client. My personal coach Gerardo gives his full attention to me during our training and understands how to increase intensity without sacrificing safety. I recommend The Facility based on my experience so far. read more

I know that I would never have achieved the level of fitness and wellness if not for the personal attention given in my training session at the facility. Narisa is always very encouraging and has a vast knowledge of her profession. I was recently in a car accident and suffered a spinal cord injury which left me paralyzed from the waist down and spent 71 days in the hospital and The Facility welcomed me back with open arms and were able to work with me despite my injuries as I learn to walk again. I would recommend The Facility in a heartbeat having also met and trained with a couple of the other trainers in this company. I aim to continue to train and maintain a good level of fitness with their help for a long time to come. read more

The Facility For Personal Training - Trainers Near Me - Boca Raton, Florida

I wish I lived closer to Boca! A friend brought me in try this gym, I loved it. It is a beautiful gym, but most importantly, it is very clean which is a #1 priority for me with gyms. I consider myself to be in pretty good shape; I workout everyday, but the trainers there really pushed me! The trainers are all very nice and knowledgeable. They were able to provide me with specific information about my personal needs and not just give the usual diet & fitness information. That is one of the huge positives about this gym, the personal and private experience you will receive. The trainers stay with you throughout the workout and not only tell you how to do the movements, but demonstrate the moves so that you learn to execute the moves properly. They stay with you from start to finish and really help you to not only reach your goals, but to exceed them! This is a family owned facility which gives it an even better feeling. If you are in the Boca area, this is hands down the best gym you could join! read more

The Facility runs opposite the cookie cutter fitness center formulae that have gone, well, pretty badly. I've had 5 surgeries in 5 years - 2 cervical neck, 1 back, prostate, foot. 4 were invasive, and one was to remove a malignant tumor. I'm currently receiving radiation treatments daily for 40 days. I'd been working with Narisa since July, and had lost about 12-14 lbs of body fat up until December 2018, while maintaining muscle mass over that period. Starting in early February 2019, I started the hormone (ADT) and radiation. The combination may fight cancer but causes significant loss of bone density and muscle mass. Once we learned what the treatment protocol was, Narisa tweaked my program to do 1/3 cardio and 2/3 weight training over 60-70 minutes, and within 3 weeks *during radiation*, we gained 2.5 lbs of muscle mass while losing 5.0 lbs of fat! By mid-March, I'm now down about 32 lbs since July. This is the type of personal training I've grown to expect from The Facility. read more

I've been working out with a personal trainer here for a little over a month and am already seeing results. My clothes are fitting better and my posture and strength are improving as well. Daniela is my trainer. The workouts are always challenging and never repetitive. Her encouragement gets me through those final reps, but she is also aware of what injuries I've had and modifies when needed. She is constantly smiling. Because I have crazy work hours and business travel, I have worked out with 2 other trainers a few times when my schedule was tight. Christian and Jen we're both great as well. Fred keeps a great staff of trainers, and everyone is friendly. The equipment is in excellent shape and the facility very clean. I highly recommend. read more

I've been working out at The Facility for several months and I can honestly say I look forward to going each time. My trainer Corey is awesome! Since visits are by appointment, there's no waiting around for equipment, it's never overcrowded. Everyone is assigned to a trainer, and there is no loud grunting, clanging of equipment and showboating. Clients represent a wide range of ages and abilities. The personal trainers are all extremely knowledgeable about diet, exercise and health. Workouts are tailor-made to your abilities and capabilities, not one-size-fits-all workouts. This gym really takes care of its clients!! read more

I have to say how impressed and welcomed I felt the moment I went to The Facility. Being over weight and out of shape is hard enough but you feel accepted immediately. Your evaluation and goals are discussed and you are made to feel positive that they are attainable. Whatever your situation is physically, you feel confident you are in good hands. Everyone I have come in contact with has been friendly, and always has a smile and are happy to be there and you begin to feel the same way. I work with Alec 2 to 3 days a week and he is professional, knowledgeable, patient and positive. I am confident I made the right decision in joining The Facility. read more

I am far from a gym person and usually only found nominal time for any type of exercise. Several friends suggested I train at the Facility. That was 2013 and I have now been training 3 times a week since my first visit. The Facility provides a very clean environment with knowledgeable people and new or well maintained equipment. I'm 60 and have now incorporated exercise as part of how I manage my overall well being and general health (30 years as a Type 2 diabetic). I highly recommend the Facility - particularly to those like me who have little or no experience in a gym. All of the staff make you feel very comfortable and provide excellent instruction on every form of exercise. read more

I originally found The Facility on Yelp, I saw they were running a special to get 2 free training sessions and I figured I would swing by and try them. My first day I met with Fred and we went over my goals, he also did an inBody test which is pretty awesome since it gives you a whole picture about your weight, muscle mass etc. I went through my 2 free sessions with Austin, and signed up immediately after that. I've been training with Austin for about 5-6 months, he always keeps the work outs different and interesting. My Results so far: My first inBody test I was about 22% body fat and had around 99 lbs of muscle. My last inBody test I have gone down to 16.7 body fat and 111 lbs of muscle, and that includes me occasionally not eating right and a 3 week vacation with absolutely no dieting. If you are looking for an awesome place to train and get results, I would recommend you to call in and make an appointment to talk to Fred, it cost nothing to get an inBody test and find out where you are at. read more

I have been training at The Facility for a little over a month now. The Facility is an incredible gym and I'll tell you why. It is always clean, the weights are always racked and the equipment is top of the line and wiped down after every use. I train with Tom Bennett. Not only is Tom a good guy, he is also a great trainer. In the short time I've been here, I feel physically and mentally stronger. Another great thing about Tom, he is very knowledgeable and accommodating. I have injuries and he makes sure I am doing the correct exercises and doing them properly so I avoid further injury. The owner Fred is also a great guy and leads by example. He practices what he preaches and is always in the gym working out and following up with me to make sure everything is well. Him & his daughter run the gym and are both extremely passionate. I give The Facility 5 stars and will recommend it to anyone I know. read more

I am 54 years young and preparing for rotator cuff surgery. I wanted to minimize my recovery time so I could be back in "the gym" and on the golf course asap. A colleague of mine gave me the name "The Facility" in Boca Raton and more specifically a highly educated exercisr physiologist with extreme credentials who he said specializes in strengthening surrounding muscle groups to speed up recovery time. When I visited I immediately took note that this is no typical "gym" and this young man (anybody is young compared to me!) was not your weekend certified trainer. In fact, he and all of the trainers are required to have advanced degrees and certifications. Additionally, The Facility specializes in a method of training that is very unique and highly effective. He took me through my complimentary session, and away we went! Fast forward 60 days post surgery and I am about to start lightly swinging the clubs again and getting back to the gym, which of course, will be the facility and Justin. The Facility is THE Place. Never experienced anything quite like it! read more

After one year of training at this Facility on M and F at 7:30am, while out a few weeks with a back injury and without as much as a conversation with me, the owner put someone else in my F 7:30am slot and then refused to give it back to me. The other person's trainer quit and my trainer and time slot were what he wanted so.... What a shame. read more

It will be two years since I started coming to The Facility. I've had two total knee replacements last year so I intend to keep up my strength every week. It's a nice sized gym, not overwhelming. The machines are fantastic; I look forward to using all of them eventually! I like how professional and knowledgeable my trainer is. Thanks, Jamie R. read more

Do not wait! THE FACILITY? Where do I start? Fred, owner takes time to start with a proper, thorough and informative body assessment analysis in order to assign the correct trainer. As a result both my husband and I who have very different needs were very pleased with our trainers, Emmett & Matt respectively. Knowledgeable attention and care is given to ensure overall body strengthening goals while being mindful of any medical needs and/or limitations you may have. The trainers have an individualized plan of action for your success rather than a mere repetitive exercise schedule. My husband who is in law enforcement for many years has found his trainer, Emmett to be very inspiring and looks forward to his sessions! That meant the world to me especially since he had several health concerns in recent years. Finally, Fred is an onsite, hands on owner which is much appreciated and gives you a much needed sense of security and concern for your continued successful training experience. Fred operates a clean facility which is a very important feature. Also want to give a thanks to CoCo at the desk for always being so attentive upon your arrival with a warm greeting and willingness to help with any administrative matters. The Facility is OUR new home for years to come. Nothing is more important than improving or maintaining good health. I highly recommend THE FACILITY to change/improve your life. read more

I've been training at The Facility for a year and a half now, and I'm still going strong. While new gyms seem to pop up every week in south Florida, I've yet to see anything better. Due to my business, I've had to change my training schedule several times, usually forcing me to change trainers. Fortunately, The Facility only hires PROFESSIONAL trainers with bachelor's degrees (half of them have master's degrees), so they all seem to have a legitimate passion for health and fitness. After working with 6 trainers, I can say that the whole team is top notch. Trust me, there's a HUGE difference between a $200 personal trainer certification and someone with a degree in Exercise Science or Sports Medicine. (It's frustrating there isn't a proper term to differentiate between the 2, because the difference is like dishwasher and chef). I used to believe the heavier the weight you can lift, the better. This seemed to be an effective way to get bigger and stronger, but I usually only made it 3-4 months before I'd get an injury that kept me out of the gym. The Facility trainers follow a training method (DVNS) based on neuromuscular stimulation (and some bigger sciency words) that enables them to deliver a more effective workout with less weight. This means I get better results, faster and safer. In the 20 months I've been at The Facility, I've canceled only 5 workouts and all were from being sick, not injured. When I first started working out at The Facility, I figured "a gym is a gym, a trainer is a trainer." I never considered the value of a uniform training system, so I figured there was nothing wrong with the way most gyms put new trainers right to work when hired. At The Facility, even if you've got a master's and years of training professional athletes under your belt, you've still got to complete a regiment of on the job training, testing, and evaluation (we're talking months for some trainers) before they let you near a client. That shows The Facility's commitment to highest standards and the trainer's dedication to bringing their craft to the next level. The fact that they specialize in training people over 40 and people with injuries/surgeries in their past is invaluable. Not only do I know they're getting constant exposure and experience with working around limitations safely, but their constant focus on injuries makes them seem a lot more aware of my form. I'm not just working out to stay in shape now, I'm working out in ways that'll allow me to stay in shape in the future, which wasn't on my mind a decade ago. A lot of people think the worst that can come from an undereducated trainer is an ineffective workout, but one wrong rep can be the difference between a world of pain and long-term limitation. Their ability to help you workout after a surgery is bested only by their ability to help you prevent needing the surgery in the first place. Keep up the great work and you can be assured I'll be adding another 5 star review next year! read more

I recently had surgery and went through treatment for ovarian cancer. Happily, I am now in remission but was feeling weak. Yesterday was my one year anniversary of going to The Facility. That I can even say that I've stuck with an exercise program for a year is a great testament to the terrific job they do here, but I am also down nearly 70 pounds and I have muscles that I have, literally, never had in my life (BTW I'm 58 years old). The owners and staff are amazing and the facility and equipment are always spotlessly clean and in great working order. Although all the trainers here are great and very well educated and knowledgeable, my trainer David Hrdlicka has done such an amazing job of keeping me motivated, interested and pushing me to go further than I usually think I can go but with trust and skill, not with bullying and yelling that you see in some other places. To whoever this may concern. If you're considering Gyms, I would highly recommend "The Facility". I'm going on my second month as a new member of The Facility. The Facility is a great environment to work out in. All of their machinery is state-of-the-art and probably the most advanced I've ever seen in any gym. I definitely enjoy the lighting inside of the gym. Very cool LED lighting that changes colors and put you in a pretty cool mood while you're working out. It just makes for an interesting ambience...... This may sound trivial but you would know what I mean if you experienced it. Besides that, more importantly, the staff and the trainers there are all extremely courteous, friendly and professional. My trainer in particular, Jamie, has helped me to transform my body. I've never been a big workout person but the way in which he and the other trainers train, is extremely catering to the novice. The bottom line is that if you're looking for a really good gym with smiling personnel, state-of-the-art equipment and professionalism that you just don't see at an LA fitness or Youfit, etc.... Then this is the perfect place for you to get your health together and your body in shape. Thank you for reading this. That's been my experience and so far I think I found a gym I'm going to stay at!
