This is my second time getting a supercharged peel with Face Bar. They just moved to a brand new location in West Hollywood. They're basically a tenant in an acupuncture office, which can be pretty awkward. I think the best is to just wave down anyone that walks in and let them know what you're there for. I definitely like the previous office better. Apparently the acupuncturist validates, but I'm still not sure if Face Bar does. I ended paying $10 for parking. I think street parking would be a better bet. I previously called a week before my appointment and left a message on their voicemail since their website said call if you'd like to see if there were other time slots open. No one ever called me back. Updated: Tricia, the owner, reached out after my appointment to address some of my concerns and she said that the switch from the offices was very new and there were some problems with the phones. I appreciated her caring enough about customer service to reach out. My second peel didn't peel as much as the first one. It took 6 days to completely stop peeling. read more

Have you ever been to one of this place where the products/service sold give great results but the owner is rude and doesn't know how to treat their clients. The face bar is one of these. I had a bad experience with owner Tricia over the phone almost forcing me to go to the appointment scheduled when I couldn't not make it on time because otherwise I would get charged anyway even if I could not make it telling me that the "system" wouldn't let her reschedule my appointment for another time. Come on now let's be real ! Every time a business owner tells you "the system" won't allow me to do this or that, it is a terrible excuse and it is more called unwillingness and they just want to take your money. Now not only was I surprised at the reply but also at the way she was talking very rudely. I am pretty good at keeping my cool but this lady made it hard that day specially after looking for their new location which is the reason I was late because I first went to their previous location and wasn't aware of the change and then being told "well it was on the website, you should have looked". Now back to the product/service itself it has always worked for my skin so well, it is quick 30 min and after 4/5 days of peeling your skin looks great and if you keep it consistent for 3 months the results are even better. It is one of the reason Why i kept coming back and also because of Monica and Aimee who were really good but who unfortunately they both no longer work there. Something is telling me that if the owner doesn't treat their clients right, she must not treat their employees great as well. But anyway to conclude the minute I find a product that works as great as what she offers I won't come back. I like to support great business run by great people. I'm obsessed with getting rid of my sunspots and have tried laser procedures like Fraxel, Pico, and IPL that are more expensive and not as effective as the supercharged peel. I've had three peels, and I saw the most drastic results on my first trip. My sunspots diminished at least 50%! The second peel didn't do anything, and the third has helped a little. The spots are still there though! uggh The downtime for me was a little longer than what they state: usually book Thurs night, bright red face all of Friday, peel like crazy Sat-Mon, and my face looks back to normal by Wednesday. I don't find the bleach or acid pads to have worked for me, but do recommend the peel itself. The scrub and acid burns like crazy for a minute, but beauty is pain, right? And Tricia is a dream! Wish she worked on Thursdays or Fridays. But overall, it's a $100 well spent. read more

Tricia is a miracle worker! I suffer from bad acne and since going to see Tricia my skin has transformed! After every time I get a peel my friends comment on how good my skin looks. I will say I don't have TOO many skin issues- but my skin can get dull looking (hey I'm getting older!) and because Im very naturally tan I end up with darker patches that make me insane. I did the signature Peel and have never looked back. I literally bought the 12 pack right after. The peel itself wasn't bad for me since Im already so tan it looked like my regular skin but a little more orange. The peeling happened exactly as they said it would- their guide to the peel is shockingly on point. The hardest day is number 3- jut plan around it or do what I did and just say hey I'm peeling (a non issues!) and then its like you have the skin you have always dreamed of. Clear, bright and spot free! Ive seen the resuts not only on myself but a few friends and everyone of us is obsessed!!! Monica is the BEST- she is so knowledgable - doesn't try to sell you things you don't need (I do suggest getting their skin kit the first time - with wash etc in it!) She's cool and comforting, will let you know exactly how to care for your own skin type. My credit card company now suggested I put a block on her to prevent her from continuing to charge. This place is my secret weapon. After a treatment I don't need to wear any foundation for a while! It's the best. I've gone 3 times and each time have gotten better results. My personal tip is to have a peel on a Thursday. Friday you will look like you have a sun burn. No biggie. Then Saturday and Sunday you peel. Monday you show up at work looking fabulous! As an early weekend gift to myself, I decided to try out The Face Bar's "Glow on the Go". I knew about The Face Bar because I passed it going to work and it was in a convenient location for me. After the last few weeks, I was needing a little pick-me-up from working long hours and traveling, so I thought, why not try it tonight?! I called ahead to make an appointment at lunch. Very easy! I came in around 5 on a Friday and it wasn't too busy nor too slow. The perfect pace actually. 1 esthetician and 1 young lady working the front desk. And then about 3 other clients walked in within the 40 minutes I was there. The vibe was nice - good, upbeat music, smelled yummy, looked and felt clean and welcoming. The front desk lady was very nice and filling out paperwork on a tablet was simple. Monica, my esthetician, came over to bring me to one of the 6ish open seats and my treatment began. I explained my concerns and she was open and understanding. She was knowledgeable about skin care and had good insights. The "Glow on the Go" was so lovely. The extractions started sooner than I expected (after about a minute of steam) but Monica did a great job at getting out my impurities, even though it was a light extraction (which I actually prefer vs. a heavy one). The steam and mask was nice and relaxing, and the oxygen was my absolute favorite. My skin was sooo happy when the oxygen part was happening. The rest of the facial consisted of an acid wipe, a cold roller (yesss!), and moisturizer/eye cream. The whole treatment didn't take more than 20 minutes. I couldn't believe I was in-and-out in less than an hour, even with it being my 1st time. My mani takes longer than that! This is perfect for my busy life-style! The products feel amazing on my face after 3 hours. I also love the dewy look, but I especially love how it makes me feel. I ended up buying the foaming face wash to try out one of Tricia's products, as I am sure it will be as amazing as my experience. The results of the signature peel are incredible. During the first few days I was seriously freaking out. My face was dark red, and the skin was peeling hardcore. But after a week, I swear to god, I had a face of a little girl: so smooth, so moisturized. No red bumps, no acne. And I was literally glowing. Now, after a month, though they suggest that you can do this signature peel once a month, my skin still looks really good! And def buy the post-peel sample package products. And please note, that I can't stand most of the facial specialists because they don't know what they are doing. I really liked this place with a few caveats. The location (while a bit tough to find - it's inside another Dr's office) is nice and clean, and they got me into the room in a very timely manner. The process, as some others pointed out, is not painless but it's a peel so I didn't expect it to be pleasant either. The parts when they exfoliate with the sea urchin shells and acid pads are the most intense - the peel itself is more like a cream and doesn't hurt. My face was super red for two days as expected. It's a little scary, like "did I do permanent damage?" - but fades within about 5 days of the treatment. I definitely didn't experience the "sloughing" promised and that others reported. I would say I had light peeling and even at that, had to use a wash cloth after a few days to help it along. So I didn't quite feel I got the bang for my buck here. Despite all that, I got the treatment to address old hyper-pigmented acne scars and have to say they do seem to be lighter and my face clearer. I would probably try this again to knock out the rest of the hyper pigmentation. Overall a solid experience! read more

At first everything was good staff, appointment environment. My wife was very happy, I decided to go with her to make a day out of it. We met the owner, Tricia, very sweet at first until I started asking questions because we were new. She said any further questions should be asked to my staff. Like we were bothering her. I asked why the sudden change in attitude, she said, I dont make money standing here answering your questions. We were floored! So the smiles and customer service was a front until I we give her our money? So sad how a little money can change someone. We finished my wifes appointment and left. I have now done the Face Bar Peel, five times. I don't understand why any woman who does facials would not do this. It's a huge difference. I've done facials for years. This signature peel is 10 times better than a traditional facial. My skin looks beautiful after this peel and everyone notices. It's a very quick procedure about 10 minutes. There's really no downtime because you can sleep in the stuff they put on your face. And then you'll have a bit of peeling as if you went to the beach. I go to work while my face is peeling. I love the Facebar. I've had other chemical peels with no results that cost double the price! The Facebar's peel is amazing. You will be orange the day of - the day after by that evening I am already beginning to peel. By the following night almost all my face has peeled! At this point the new skin looks radiant and smooth. People will ask you what you are doing to your skin because it looks so good! I initially came in just for fine lines and was very satisfied. Lately I've had eczema and breakouts that only seem to be solved by my monthly peels. I visited The Face Bar for the first time on Friday. The facility is clean and very well decorated. I booked my appointment online, which is super easy and convenient. This being my first facial peel, I had a few questions, I called and spoke with Greg who was super friendly and helpful over the phone. I made my appointment with Denise. The facial peel itself is not painful. It was a good 30 mins of relaxing and talking to Denise while she did the peel. Greg and Denise were super friendly. Aside from enjoying my time during my treatment the results are AMAZING. Day 1 you have to leave a face mask on for 8+ hours that looks a little funny, like a bad spray tan lol... Day 2 I was red, like a sun burn, but not painful... my face just felt warm. Day 3 and 4 my skin peeled. My skin feels sooo soft and looks smooth and firm. Prior to my first recent The Face Bar experience, let's just say that I have tried just about every turn back the clock treatment in existence. Fraxel, TCA peels, monthly facials, dermaplaning, etc. (I admit it..vanity sometimes gets the best of me.) But from a cost/benefit perspective, nothing compares to my recent peel from The Face Bar. Even my husband, who seriously wouldn't notice if I had had a facelift, couldn't believe the difference. Now dear Yelp friend, here are the things that I wish I knew before I went in. (Of course, if I had just read the other reviews prior, I would not have been in the "surprised" camp.) 1) The peel will give you a Donald Trump orange looking complexion for the 8 hours that it is to stay on. What does this mean? Do not go anywhere where you might run into an ex-boyfriend (or people for that matter). So next time I do this, I am going to take a 3:00 appointment on a Thursday and go straight home and binge watch some Netflix with the curtains drawn. 2) Day #2 was pretty much a "red face day." You can go out, but you are not going to be discovered by a talent agent if you get my drift. 3) Day #3 was the "Oh My God What Have I Done Day?" where my entire face peeled like crazy. Think snake shedding its skin in terms of drama.I have had peels before, but no where near the amount of peeling. More Netflix. 4) Day #4 still a lot of peeling to go, but huge swaths had already peeled so I would say you could go about your business-market, cleaners-but not to your high school reunion. 5) Day #5 still peeling, but not so much that you can't go about your normal day. 6) Day #6! Gorgeous, glowing skin! Major difference in stubborn melasma (sp? dark brown area) over my lip that every facialist I had ever seen basically had given up on. So there you have it! This is the worst place ever. I get chem peels all the time and this was def worst experience ever. The product irritated my skin even a week later it's still irritated and my skin is worse then when I went in a week ago. They also video you in the treatment room without your acknowledgement which is what the owner which is creepy and illegal. The owner/manager was so rude and unprofessional to us and then goes as far as to pick a fight when we tried to explain our bad experience. I own a very well known PR firm in LA and have seeing a lot of bad business but this place is the worst. I only gave them 2stars as yelp has new rules that business can delete any bad reviews under 3 stars so ratings on this place are all fake. read more

I have been to the Face Bar three times in the past year and I love it! I had my first chemical peel done by Monica. I was in and out in 40 minutes ( or less). Monica took care of me and walked me through every step she was about to do on me since it was my first time. After the third day, my skin started to peel and I could see my new shiny skin underneath! The peel also helped with my upper lip discoloration. I would recommend going asap especially if you need to be in and out of there. The price range is also very reasonable. They have monthly deals if you are the type to treat yo self! read more

The three stars are for the beautiful studio and lovely staff but unfortunately I did not see very good results from the peel. If you are in your 20's, take relatively good care of your skin (wash, moisturize, get occasional facials) the painful process is not worth the result! The 30 minutes of the peel in the were some of the most painful of my life (and I've had laser hair removal and waxes everywhere imaginable). They do a crushed sea shell/acid mask followed by an acid wash, collagen roller and peel mask so be prepared to hide for the evening. Day 2 my skin was bright red and extremely tender, I could wear make-up but my skin bothered me and I was uncomfortable all day. Day 3 is when I started to peel and I basically had to hide all day. Day 4 I continued to peel and couldn't really wear any make-up because I was applying moisturizer every 30 minutes. Day 5 my skin was so dry my moisturizer wouldn't even rub in and the front desk staff told me "it happens" and when I asked what I should do she told me to come back in for the Glow and Go. Day 6-7 my skin was still dry and when the dryness went away, my skin looked the exact same as it had before my peel! I was so bummed, I was expecting fresh, dewy skin and saw no change. The only difference was that I didn't get acne that first week (and usually get a few zits here and there). I really had high hopes! read more

I stumbled upon this place after seeing Clevver Beauty visit in a video and I was intrigued. I quickly googled the face bar and was pleasantly surprised at how affordable their services are. I had been in the market for a good peel for my skin as I have struggled for years with hormonal breakouts and am now left with a lot of hyperpigmentation. I booked an appointment with Monica for a Signature Peel and was pleasantly surprised with my experience. Monica was very friendly and professional. She guided me through the process and I felt very comfortable throughout the entire experience. I will say that the scrubbing portion is a little intense but totally worth it for the results and feel my skin has afterwards. I was so pleased I recently got a second peel done. I know that a chemical peel is certainly not going to cure my hormonal acne but it has definitely improved my skin texture and improved the clarity and tone of my skin. I splurged on the weekly peel pads per recommendation of another review here and they truly are a game changer in maintaining your skin in between peels. I was so excited to try out the FaceBar LA. The yelp reviews are amazing and I had really high expectations. On arrival I first found it very difficult to locate. The photos make it look like it's an independent salon type building, however in reality it's just a small room in a wider facility with one chair in it. I was then greeted by Monica, who called me the wrong name... and was then taken to the room and told to lie down. I was not guided through the treatment and had to proactively ask what was being put on my face. Monica made no effort to engage in conversation during the treatment and I felt very rushed / didn't receive all of the steps outlined on their website for the peel. Also half way through the treatment the previous client was let into the room which didn't seem professional. I was also disappointed not to receive any personalised advice for my skin - kind of felt like a one size fits all peel for all skin types. Anyway, I was excited to see the results of the peel. Unfortunately I came out in horrible rash on the third day. I messaged the team on Instagram, and they were actually great with prompt responses and giving me advice on using cortisone cream to relieve the rash. After a few days the rash cleared up and my skin was definitely glowing. I didn't see any reduction in acne scarring on my cheeks, but I was told a few treatments were needed. I'm not planning on going back due to my past experience, but will continue to use their weekly glow pads which have really helped to control my acne. It's a great concept but seems like standards may have slipped. If you've never had a peel before, it's worth a try I think. read more

Their signature peel is crazy good, roughly 4 days later. Just beware-- if your skin reacts the way mine did you will be bright red and raw looking for 2 days, then really peel-y for a day. No amount of makeup could cover what my face did, and I found they underplayed how intense this peel would be (or was for me at least). Also the peel itself is not skin colored, it's a deep orange, so don't plan on doing anything in public after getting the peel (you are supposed to leave it on for 8 hours). Minor freak-outs aside where I clung to these yelp reviews as confirmation that I hadn't burned off my face, it was worth it. My skin is glowing, smooth, bright, and completely clear. An age spot is lighter, I had unevenness from a breakout that is completely gone. It's really great. I will definitely be back, just probably not once a month as the whole thing is pretty intense. read more

Got two signature peels. The first one was better than the second. And the first one I could feel it and see the difference. The second one not so much. The lady was nice.
