A bit disappointed, I browsed the shop's local farm goods, unique home décor and repurposed furnishings - many one-of-a-kind treasures! I came back the next day to enjoyed an Umqua ice cream on a hot day, browsed again and envisioned some of her furnishings in our nearly built new home. Can't wait! One last important note - Julia is also a barista of the best espresso coffee drinks in town, including an espresso ice cream treat that would top any ice cream parlor offering.

I had a lot of detailed questions about construction, fabrics, sizing, etc. The gentleman at Homestead was generous with his time and knowledge. He did not try to upsell me extra warranty coverage because he said the product coverage was sufficient in most cases (and he bothered to ask me about our family's habits..pets, etc). He even refused to badmouth another competing brand...(even after I goated him a bit) and only said that he used to carry it, but did not feel he could stand behind it with as much confidence as his current brands after visiting both factories. He visits the factories!! This guy loves what he does and loves fitting people with the right furniture for their needs and budget and it shows.

You see, Bright Star Press has been in business for a long-ass-time. Since the '50s if I remember correctly. But what makes Bright Star different from a place like Wendell's is that it's run by one, and one only hard-core mama that's been working at the joint since 1989 and running it since I dunno the early 2000s? Kyle, the owner (a woman so bad-ass she has a dude's name), is involved first hand with every aspect of her business - from taking orders, packing and shipping the orders, to designing the small, but tasteful line of jewelry BSP sells. BSP offers a wide variety of aliminum and bronze medallions (all of which can be made into radical key-chains) as well as tasteful and classy bi- and tri-plated medallions. BSP also offers some neat-o classic 12 Step Literature and bumper stickers if you like to shout that stuff from the roof tops. How she runs this place herself with the help of literally a couple of employees is beyond me, but she does it well and with flair and style.
