I love going to the Exercise Coach. When I started this program, my body was so hurt that I couldn't even do the machines without help. I was almost ready for knee surgery and two shoulder surgeries. I've been going faithfully since January 2025 it's now the end of July. I have improved so much that I no longer need help with the machines and the pain in my shoulders are pretty much gone. I am able to use both shoulders at probably 80% capacity. My knees are also much better. I do feel that when I leave from my session my body is still working on my inner strength. They have now introduced balance training. I am so looking forward to adding this to my weekly program. I saw this program advertised on Facebook of all places. I had just finished a series of physical therapy which really didn't do much for me. For the record, I'm glad I went but I did not see the progress I wanted. I took a chance and visited the Exercise Coach for a free session. Since I couldn't do the machines on my own, the Coach helped me every step of the way. However, I was still skeptical when I left. The coaches at the Rochester location were so warm, welcoming and encouraging I decided to invest in myself. I am sure glad I did. The place is very clean and inviting. As far as my workouts, I believe I get everything and more from each machine. I just signed up for another 6 months and I am so very happy I did. Just so everyone knows, I am writing this review because I am a believer in this program. The Exercise Coach team is not even aware that I am writing this review. This workout is not for people under 80. They tell you it takes months to see results, guess 6 months wasn't long enough but at $200 a month, no seeing results after spending $1200! Is ridiculous! But the worst part is after giving them almost 2 months notice that I would not be using their services anymore, due to not being in the state anymore not because of the lack of results, they still charged my card $200 for services I didn't receive. They emailed me saying I would get a refund, they were so sorry, but then changed their mind I guess. I disputed the charge with my bank but apparently they scammed their way into keeping my money. I'm guessing all the positive reviews are from current older clients, not from anyone who doesn't use their services anymore. Obviously $200 is worth more than positive customer service. read more

I've only gone 8 times but I can already feel a change. I am a bit stronger and I actually like going. I need to be accountable. I'm the only one there (with the coach) unless someone is leaving, I don't see any other people. The gym is small, very clean, trainers are friendly and there's no "gym stress". I'm 74 and need to build muscle. Also started a hospital-run weight loss program where I also need to be accountable once a month. So far I'm very pleased with all of this. read more

When you purchase 1 month, it says you need to give 1 months notice and so I gave notice then and it was accepted. The person who accepted said he did not know he shouldn't have. This two months rate is almost the same amount as the 3 month package so then why would anyone pick that. Also the Fremont manager does not return calls. Even the method between using the equipment varied between trainers - do as much as you can above the line to stay as close as possible to the line. Outcomes are different. read more

I paid for the 8 sessions in additions to the session paid for by my health insurance. When I inquired about the 8 sessions I had paid for months earlier I was told that I did not use them in months in which I had paid for them so they would not honor them. The $360.00 was just lost. This was outrageous . My health insurance had paid them and my payment was for additional sessions. I cancelled. They will clearly lose much more than they gained by keeping my money or offering to allow me to use the sessions. Very poor business practice. Do the math. read more

It's pricey so we didn't continue after our first two months, but I will say it changed how I work out at home now too. I really loved how their machines felt sort of like a video game and it tracked your improvements. The coaches were all so nice and knowledgeable. It's crazy that you actually feel stronger after only 2 workouts a week 20 minutes each time. It does work. read more

The trainers/coaches are very supportive. They're all interesting to chat it up with, if you need distraction while working out. I've increased my strength and continue to build it up. My stamina for walking has improved. It's easy to add this activity to a routine, as the results are obvious. read more

I spent 700 cash money for what I thought from a great sales man for this strength training taking only 20 on machines but it turned out to be what I call a gimmick. Once I begin my lower back began hurting very badly I was hoping I would receive a refund since this totally was cause discomfort but NO once you pay there is no going bad. Not worth the money I should have done more research that is why I want to put my experience out there in hope to help someone else before they make the same mistakes. read more

I have been going to the Exercise Coach for several years. I found that initially the exercise routine accomplished what I was needing. After a period of time I needed to change up my workout to accomplish my personal goals. The owner was not happy that I was leaving and gave me a hard time about the number of sessions that I had left that I paid for. During my stay at the coach the contract rules changed however no one ever informed me of the changes. If you can't put your contract on hold when your out of town for a certain amount of weeks and there is a limit to how many sessions you can make up, doesn't that mean you are paying for sessions you do not use? It was a very uncomfortable call with the owner and I felt like I shouldn't have been put into that situation. I stayed at the coach because of the relationship I had established with my trainer, not because of the gym. There is a gym on every street. There is a high turn over in trainers at the gym and it was hard to continually re-build a relationship with a trainer. I saw a lot happen with employees over my time and I was extremely disappointed to see how employees were treated. As a business owner myself, it was sad to see how hard working staff members were treated and the inconsistencies in how the owner treated the staff. High staff turnover is never a good reflection on the owner. I'm not sure the owner has any idea of what really goes on in the gym. It was also hard for me to pay a lot of money at a gym when there are so many other gyms that are cheaper and where I can accomplish my person goals and continue to see results. I love my new gym! Make sure the gym you sign up at allows you to reach your personal goals on a consistent basis so you don't plateau. Paying a lot for a gym doesn't equal results! read more

Never in my life have I been this fit! I joined the Exercise Coach when they first opened on Bell and Thompson Peak, and hold the distinction of being their first, or oldest member. The machines are Beasts, and the Trainers are top-notch, able to modify your routine based on injury, what you want to focus on, etc. I don't have to figure anything out or worry that I will hurt my compromised back. I don't have to worry about what time I'll go to the gym, and do the same routine over and over again. They listen, push you, and measure your improvement. I have more muscle mass than I have ever had, and have increased by strength by well over 100%. I decided as I grow older, I would not be that frail, hunched over old person you see everywhere, and instead I am fit and probably as strong as I can possibly be without injuring myself. The staff gets to know you, your body and what you can and can't do. This is of the best decisions I've ever made! Just do it, trust the process, and you won't regret it! read more
