Michaels at Eastgate is located convenient and central location in Mayfield Heights. It's an…read moreespecially easy stop if you're an efficient shopper looking to visit multiple businesses at once. There are multiple large retailers in this area - Target, Aldi, Marc's, and others. I recently stopped in at Michael's for my raffle building endeavor. LAYOUT, INVENTORY: The store is well organized and stocked. The layout resembles other Michael's stores. Aisles are labeled. There are quite a few obstructions in the aisle like random ladders without active stocking. Inventory is challenging to find. There is no staff on the sales floor to assist customers. To expedite my visit, I looked at every item on the website and its location. Not one of the my ten items was in the right location. All items were at least one aisle off. It was really inconvenient. A lot of the inventory is also damaged yet on the floor. For instance, wood nesting doll had significant cracks. I purchased multiple items like scissors (all wildly expensive and generic), faux pinecones, cellophane, and more. SEASONAL STOCK: You can currently find months worth of inventory at this store. Christmas (on sale), Valentine's Day (on sale), Easter, and spring. Whatever you're ready to celebrate is here! There is no general holiday inventory location so browse the entire store for festive pockets. SERVICE: The service was not strong at this store. There were no sales associates on the sales floor. There was one sales associate working the checkout and simultaneously assisting self-checkout customers. In addition, almost every customer with sales items experienced issues at checkout (mostly wrong prices). As a result, the line quickly backed up. The store would benefit from additional staffing due to such a central retail location. PARKING: Shared plaza parking is available. My visit to this Michael's was a little aggravating. I was not pleased with my inability to find inventory in the right aisles. I could not quickly shop due to the lack of sales associates to assist. I'd rather visit other craft stores for a more personalized and supportive visit.

However I did question a few things that I had won regarding their "newness" as I had purchased a slipcover for a loveseat, not original packing and dog hair embedded in it. I washed it and used it b/ci had bought it for b/c of our dogs. I also purchased a Michael Todd dermaplaner which was listed as "new", but had to question its new state since a couple of blades were missing from the package. Did I say anything to them then? No I gave it a good cleaning and purchased new blades. BUT I had to say something on one of my last purchases. It was listed as a "new" Rowenta clothes iron, so I bid on it, and was quite disappointed to find a battered taped up box, that contained a yellowed from original white color, and smelling of moth balls. No way this was new. So I called the number, and a guy answers the phone, never giving his name. Told him the issue, and he replies nonchalantly with, "if you don't like it, bring it back and we will refund you" (take it back to Avon), I said that's it, just bring it back? His reply was "yep is that all you want?" And when I said yes he hung up. So then I felt compelled to write a message via messenger to Westlake Liquidation, which I did, and I got a reply that "Sorry if there was a mix up on our end, just keep the iron, and a refund will be sent. Which they immediately sent and then BLOCKED me from bidding on their website. When I inquired why I was blocked I was told they have a zero tolerance for rude or aggressive behavior toward their staff. I was like wait, I'm the customer who should have received an apology, but because I shared my disappointment with them on their practices, I was blocked from their site, and no one would even talk with me. So BEWARE IF YOU BID ON THEIR STUFF THAT THEY SAY IS NEW!!!! And DONT YOU DARE SHARE YOUR DISAPPOINTMENT IN HOW THEY HANDLE CUSTOMERS SERVICE.!!!!!

This sucks in the first place because I live 30 minutes away and now have to spend another hour in the car, but because of what was offered I decided it was worth it. I called in and the person I spoke with said they'd swap it out for a Playstation that is a level above the one I purchased for $10-$20 more.. The reason for this is that they thought they were out of the level of Playstation I bought. when I arrived the manager reneged on the offer, and said I'd have to pay the full difference for the better Playstation. They found they did have one left that was the same as mine. FINE. That is okay. Reneging is not okay as a business, but giving me the same thing if you have it is okay. However the manager said I needed to pay again for the warranty on the new one.. THIS IS A PAWN SHOP. Things are negotiable. It would have been nothing for her to take off the amount of the warranty and allow me to leave with an okay experience.. Instead she wanted to suck every dollar she could out of me. After spending 2 hours in the car dealing with this, and being sold a bad system.. You just can't do a single thing for me? I would have never drove all the way back there had I known I'd be spending more money on the exact same thing. My girlfriend is moving in 2 weeks and needs a new tv. I was planning on buying it from this place, but that is not happening now. Just really bad business, and I could see this is the type of place to get you for everything they can. Not concerned with repeat business.

The store was well organized; however they have tags with different colors and where I'm from those colors tend to coordinate with daily sales so I asked a lady who worked there what they meant and she said usually they have daily sales but everything was 50% off today and I even clarified "only holiday stuff?" And she responded the whole store so I was all gongho, filling my hands with shirts and unnecessary holiday decor cuz everything is so cheap, only to get to the register and I hear everyone in line complaining about what the signs posted all over the store states. Apparently last week if you spent $50, they sent you a coupon for 50% off and you would have to know that in order to understand there is no sale whatsoever unless you have that coupon. So why not take the dumb signs down? What a headache for everyone. Also, maybe educate your employees because they also do not understand. Sincerely, a customer who is unimpressed with this experience and probably will skip next time we're in town.
