I had never heard of this business, nor had need for them until recently when my wife and I were looking at renting a property. For quick background: We're both Nurses, we make pretty decent income, no evictions in 10 years of rental history, and our credit scores are 700+. The property management company had us fill out a standard California rental application, and was going to drop it off for us. Unfortunately, real life matters intervened and they were unable to do so, so we stepped in and offered to drop it off so that we could expedite the entire process. This ended up being the start of a very unfortunate experience and one of the most unprofessional experiences with a business I've ever had.
They close by 5PM, and do not answer their phones during business hours. I've actually called multiple times during business hours and not received an answer. I get out of work and make my way over to this location from downtown Riverside before they close. I printed out the application that was sent to the property management company, and they had looked it over and asked me to turn it in with the $35/per person fee to this company. I arrive at this company at 4:45PM, having stopped at an ATM to make sure I am prepared. I walk in and I'm immediately interrogated about why I've come to this office, and informed that they weren't expecting my presence. OK, you're a local business that advertises your business hours and have not mentioned on your website that you are by appointment only, so why the third degree? Either way, I am told there are three people ahead of me and I'll have to wait which is fine. I sit patiently and watch this guy speed through dismissing clients after checking their paperwork. He looks over my paperwork, states it needs to be signed by all applicants and he can't process it. I'm annoyed at this point considering I had tried to hand my paperwork to him upon arrival, and the fact I was told to come here after the property management company looked at the paperwork, but oh well -- mistakes happen.
My wife wants to drop the paperwork off Friday, and calls the company, and surprisingly gets someone on the phone. She tells them that we're trying to drop a rental application off to get background checks and what she needs. She's told the same info I'm given, and so we make sure everything is signed, she has the money, and she heads to the office (35 minute drive). Upon arrival, she is told that 1) they are not expecting her (again, this is a public business, this seems like strange behavior), 2) she has the wrong application even though this is the very one we were asked to fill out, and is the standard California rental agreement that we have received for all of our other rental applications 3) Receives a lot of attitude and third degree from employees working. We are told that they cannot forward the credit check to the rental company.
Unfortunately, my wife cursed under her breath saying "this seems too damn complicated" after we've already tried to make multiple efforts to literally drop our money and application off as asked by our rental management company and this seem to be the icing on the cake for the very rude employee. Nevermind that my wife is pregnant, has driven half a hour after calling and confirming what we need and has been met with unprofessional and rude behavior, she is told that "You are not going to come into my house and cuss at me and my employees." My wife calls the property manager who makes a quick phone call to the place and they magically take our application, and our money for services rendered.
The final two nails is that they said something to the property management company who informed us via text that they would have to re-consider our application because they wanted to stay on good relations with this company, and we lost the property.
Finally, this company is so unprofessional that they shared, via email, another customer's credit background check to us. They literally had one job: run our credit checks, and attach them to a email, but that was still too complicated of a task.
I highlight this entire experience because documentation is important in my field of work, and I want things to be very clear for anyone who is considering this company for any sort of services rendered in the future. Their website is littered with inconsistencies (e.g. come see us at our two locations, and sometimes mentions three locations), and given the choice, you should seek another company. For what it's worth, the $35 credit check is not even that extensive, and the ones from several other similar services offered have been way more informative.
TL;DR: We made multiple efforts to clarify what information this company needed from us since we were directed to them by a property management company and to pay them for services rendered, and we were met with rudeness, confusion, and ultimately, they leaked another customer's private credit check to us via email. read more
