This is another great place where when we got married 16 years ago their packages were running around 5,000 at the time, but it included the videographer, the photographer and the DJ. They really do make you feel like a princess on this day as a girl. I mean maybe they make the dudes feel like princesses too. Lol They even help with your gown coming out of the limo when your maid of honor was slacking. They are on time for the pictures you take at home, they even do your engagement pictures for you prior, they make sure that they are professional in that you don't see them "working" in any of your photos or videos because they know how and where to stand to make sure they're not caught in any pictures. They also dress up in tuxedos too. Which is so awesome in my book. And our priest was a real stickler for not desiring them anywhere near the alter, but their cameras and video with the mic, pick up clear pictures and sound (like they're right there) and the only thing you have to worry about as the bride is you are being taped and I so you do say some things that might not be suited for the final draft of your video lol, but they give you the rough cut and the edited. The edited is beautiful... put to songs in many areas, and slowed down in many areas. Amazing job. The DJ, John Wells was AMAZING. I can't tell you how many people wanted to know who he was. My own parents said that he was what made our wedding shine. He's so enthusiastic, he gets the guests pumped, he allows you to put in details that you wouldn't have thought of doing, he plays games that aren't done at other weddings- he was wonderful. We just had my brothers wedding last July and my dad is going deaf so he tends to talk loud, and he said right in front of my brothers in laws "your wedding was better, this DJ is so boring". My wedding was in February 2013. The Event Connection was a recommended vendor, and I paid them for DJ, lighting, and videography. PRAISE: - The Dj, John, was spectacular. Absolutely everyone loved him, and everyone was up dancing the whole night, even my husband's socially inept uncle. He responded to all my needs and double-checked to make sure all his information was right. I can't say enough good things about him. - The lighting was also wonderful and enhanced the day's events. - They gave us a great discounted price for all 3 services. COMPLAINTS: The guy you will work with the most is Richie. He has an aggressive, egotistical personality which you will likely first see when he tries to convince you to buy every service possible from him. Fine, he's a businessman. My problem is how his ego affected his behavior the day of the wedding and the days following the wedding. He did the videography for the wedding. To quote his website: "One of the nicest comments we receive is, 'We love our video and we didn't even notice you shooting it.'" He repeated this sentiment to me more than once, saying we didn't have to worry about him being intrusive. NOTHING could be further from the truth! He acted like our wedding day was his movie to direct. He would constantly ambush people before and after the ceremony with questions they were not prepared or not willing to answer. This created uncomfortable moments that interfered with our enjoyment of the day, not to mention footage in the video that is awkward and simply not genuine. For example, 5 minutes after the ceremony, he barged into me and my wedding party and asked, "How's married life?" Dude, let me experience it a little first! Another example: My dad walked into the room and saw me in my wedding dress for the first time. This was just a normal event that occurred during the day, "behind the scenes." Richie felt the need to hammer us with questions. RICHIE: Tell me what you think of your beautiful baby girl. DAD: (Not prepared) Oh, she's beautiful. RICHIE: Tell me your thoughts when you first saw her in her wedding dress. DAD: What's that? RICHIE: ::repeats question:: DAD: I thought it was just, uh, just the way I imagined her to be. RICHIE: Amazing, huh? DAD: Yup. :weird pause:: RICHIE: Mom, what do we think? MOM: She's a princess. ME: (interrupting) Should I put on my veil? Oh. (turns back to the camera) MOM: She's our princess. RICHIE: Seems like only yesterday you were taking her home from the hospital, huh? MOM: Yup. Time flies. RICHIE: Amazing. ::weird pause because we want him to go away:: This whole sequence was INCLUDED in the EDITED video of our day! Yup, complete with Richie's voice, the awkward pauses, and my dad needing him to repeat the question. There were several other painful moments like this. He also would spontaneously ask us to kiss or do other things for the camera at different parts of the day. He was supposed to capture the moments of the day, not direct and fabricate them! So that comment about, "We never knew he was there," is an absolute lie. You WILL know he is there. He doesn't let you forget it. Let's talk about other unacceptable features of this edited video he delivered to us: He includes us saying our vows and exchanging rings, but then SKIPS right past the kiss! Just jumps right over it with a crappy screen wipe and transitions into us walking out of the ceremony room. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We took dance lessons and did a choreographed first dance. Unfortunately, partway through, I stepped on my dress and undid my bustle. We finished up the dance as best we could. He included segments of the dance where we are stumbling around. I felt embarrassed watching it. The big kicker is that he included footage OF HIMSELF wearing a silly hat and waving. As if anyone wants to see HIS face! Again, please refer back to how his selling point is that YOU WILL NOT KNOW HE IS THERE. I have lots more complaints, but I have limited space here. Slow motion in the video looks pixelated and awful. Lame screen wipes. He included an ad for his business at the end of the video, with me saying how great they are. They told us 16-20 weeks for the video, then told me they were ahead of schedule and it would probably be 10 weeks. We waited 23 weeks and had to harass them with phone calls to get an amateur piece of junk. Luckily, we have all the raw footage. LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Richie had a few unprofessional moments on the day of the wedding. He also does photography, and obviously thinks he is hot stuff. He disagreed with some choices my photog made and muttered and made faces about it to his assistant. My photog was AMAZING and we have INCREDIBLE pictures. We also got those pictures THE WEEK AFTER THE WEDDING, not 23 weeks after. So suck on that, Richie. And get over yourself. read more

I've called and emailed and sent a message to their facebook account, numerous times to follow up on an album issue, all I have got was 1 email that said yes we will call back, (that was 2 weeks ago!) SO... I hope to hear from someone soon as this is just not great business! not happy read more

My wife and I were married on October 8th 2012! Event connection helped to make our wedding magical! Unfortunately all that has been erased. We have been waiting for our photo album and portrait for 2.5 years. We have been chasing them for 6 months with no respose. This is not the first time we have been through this. We had to chase them for our video and raw pictures about 1.5 years ago. The dj is incredible but I would nor recomend the photogrophy. read more

This guy Richie was such a weird, creep. We never received our album that we paid for and they continually called us by the wrong names at our wedding. Our guests are still horrified that we actually paid for photo, DJ and video from people that were so horrible. Once they get the money in hand they give zerooo! Stay away. RUN away!! read more

I would like to respond both to the Yelp community and Rich C. of The Event Connection to his response to my initial review. On January 7, 2014, 14 months after my wedding and 10 months after I wrote my review, Rich C. from The Event Connection contacted me by phone to discuss my review on Yelp. He wanted to know why I felt the way I did and if there was anything he could do to rectify the situation. Seeing as my wedding was over (for more than a year) and my 200 guests have gone home and on with their lives, there wasn't anything that could be done to rectify the situation. Let's go over the "FACTS" of the situation: 1. My original wedding venue, Christina's, closed in July 2012. Not October, as referenced by Rich; 2. I didn't call The Event Connection in October 2012, I sent my final payment, as required by our signed contract, on October 3, 2012 with a letter confirming the changes, as agreed upon. Please be reminded, a new contract was signed after July 2012, in anticipation of the new wedding venue and date. There was no mention of Rich C., my originally contracted photographer not being available on our contracted date at this point; 3. I received a phone call from Rich C. to advise that he would not be available for my wedding and that he would be setting me up with another photographer, Rich M., who he contracted with regularly and would I like to meet him. Of course I wanted to meet him. He was going to be photographing my wedding. I had met with Rich C. twice previously and in agreement with our signed contract, my payments were all paid in full on time. I was contacted by Rich C. to meet with Rich M. after a The Event Connection received and cashed my final check for fulfillment of our contracted price. Also, it wasn't a month in advance like he is alleging. What bride waits until Monday to meet her photographer when her wedding is Friday when I had allegedly 4 week prior to set up this meeting... Doesn't make sense! 4. It was 4 days before my wedding that I met the new photographer, so I maintain that he was DUMPED on me. What else was I going to do? Say no? And hope someone showed up?? 5. Regarding the videography contract, video was part of the package I purchased from the original wedding venue, Christina's. Otherwise, I wouldn't have purchased it. I paid out of pocket to The Event Connection for photography. I was never paying for videography out of pocket, and, as such, when my contract with Christina's was voided by them closing, so was my videography contract. Rich C., if you're looking for money expended to your videographer, I suggested you call Marjorie Claprood, Chris Spinnazzola and/or their newly packaged "event planning" business, Clappazzola, because those two are running around with $12,000 of my money that they stole, which is in violation of my contract with them. Secondly, if you're looking for sympathy you're barking up the wrong tree. I don't feel bad about my review because it is simply the truth. Wonder why my review is recommended and your 10+ others aren't...? Use your brain. And about the 16x20, thanks for the offer, but I own the rights to my pictures so I'm all set. Horrible experience with them, my wedding was April 2012 and have yet to receive our wedding photos. My husband and I went ahead and picked the ones we wanted in the albums and waited.... waited... waited... until so much time went by that my husband decided to call and see what was going on and they told him we had to pick the pictures again because they did not have the ones we selected. As for the video, we received it four years after the wedding only to play it and listen to the background music in shock, it was a spanish song talking about how he regrets being unfaithful and well you get the point. My husband and I were beyond upset, why in the world would you put just any song on the video and never mind that, a song you don't even understand! Could you not have asked us what song we would have liked? So basically we have a video of our wedding with music about cheating and no wedding photos 6 years later. Money wasted. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE. Very unprofessional, please save yourself the headache and find someone else to work with for your wedding. There are plenty of options. Oh and as for the quality of the photos themselves, HORRIBLE. I could've just given a family member a camera and told them to snap photos, probably would have came out better. read more

18 years later and I am still angry that they missed so many critical shots, particularly, of my mom and of me! All my hotel group photos were taken in front of a historical person's painting, so "HE" is in all my pictures! (an amateur mistake) I had several young gorgeous friends at my wedding, and the guy took more pictures of them at the reception than than of me! This is probably because they cancelled the experienced, mature photographer that I signed on with and sent two young bozos who knew little about taking special wedding photos, last minute. I knew nothing about their craft so I just blindly acquiesced. They were nice, so I gave them a great review on camera, the night OF my wedding, when I was in the best mood ever...and at that point I HAD NOT SEEN ANY of their work. When I saw what they returned in photos, I was so upset. And I still am, all these years later whenever I look at my album. And they have me on tape saying they were great, which pisses me off. I just noticed that they are still in business and wanted to warn of the bait and switch I experienced. read more

For my daughter's wedding The DJ, was excellent. Richie the photographer, however was terrible.................he told my daughter and the groom, that they did not need to give them a list of people to photograph. Well, when it came to look at the sum 3,000 pictures, funny that there was not one picture of me with my daughter??? I was shoved off down the hall, by the wedding coordinator while the before the ceremony pictures?.., but was never looked for by the photographer, really? As well, he was rude, and when the pictures of the wedding party after the wedding ceremony were being done, my son the ring bearer, was at the end of all the groomsmen, with a 4 to 6 inch gap. When I asked my son to move closer to the groomsmen............Richie told him not to listen to me. Guess what, pictures look odd with this gap. WAY over priced for the quality and lack of professionalism. read more

The Event Connection delivered as promised. The crew was very professional and courteous. We hired a photographer, videographer, DJ and photo booth with the back drop. We couldn't be happier with the way everything went. Richie says "show up, look good and have fun". And we did...lots of fun! read more

My mom had her 80th Birthday in August and we wanted a enlarged photograph to put on a stand that guests would see as they walked in; it would sit next to the big 80 ice sculpture. I asked Rich if he could take a few pictures of my mom and we could choose the best for the occasion. WELL, Richie went above and beyond my expectations. He asked her to bring in about three outfits to change up, being the deva my mom is, she brought SIX! Richie treated her like a queen and made us laugh the entire time. Long story short, we walked out with over 150 different pictures. Did I mention he included my daughter, my granddaughter, and myself in the photos. Its nice to have photos with the four generations. read more

The Event Connection was the best vendor at our wedding on 9/22/12!!! We won a FREE videography package at a wedding expo at Christina's in Foxboro in April of 2011. From the moment we met them, they were super nice and personable. The captured everything perfectly the day of our wedding. It took about 5-1/2 months for them to put our videos together. They even went above and beyond and made a special video for us to our wedding song. ALL FOR FREE!! It was beautiful and I cry everytime I watch it... haha! These guys are incredible. A lot of the bad reviews are from disgruntled employees that are trying to give the company a bad name. We had such a great experience with them that I wouldn't be surprised if EVERY bad review was fake. Definitely consider the Event Connection for your wedding or event.. you won't be disappointed! read more

My husband and I used the event connection for DJ, uplighting, and video. We were very pleased with their services. John the DJ was amazing and rocked the house all night, everyone of my guests that we saw afterwards raved about him, and two of my friends are actually booking him as well !!! John finally returned the call that we were promised a month earlier on 11/4 and he promised a tracking number later in the week and a delivery the following week. He called back on 11/12 saying he didn't have a tracking number yet. Today is 11/26 and we've left yet another phone message with no response. Lies, terrible communication, very unorganized. They put on an unbelievable song and dance when you sit down and meet with them. They make it sound like they are the only way to go. Boy is that wrong. There were many mix ups, didn't bring mic for our pastor, played specific DO NOT PLAY songs durring the reception, sent a totaly out of date, too old to be there photographer to a wedding for two people in there 20's. I literally have pictures in my album that are the same pose as my parents album from 40 years ago.(no imagination or fun). They took FOREVER to get pictures, which did I mention how bad the pictures were......The only thing we were even close to happy with was the video. For the amount of money they charge I STRONGLY suggest looking elsewhere. At the very least ask to meet the actual DJ, Photographer and Videographer who will be at your wedding. Ask to see there portfolio. Make sure you like there work. I wish someone had told us to do that. read more
