So this was my humble abode while I was in Hawaii. The hotel has limited parking and I was thankful I got the last spot. The elevator could use some work as well. My room was quite impressive, the only downside was the stray hairs in the bathroom the cleaning crew missed. The hotel will meet your needs and with a bar and pool you couldn't really ask for more.

I am torn right down the middle when it comes to my thoughts and opinions of this motel. I say motel despite it saying hotel on the wall because all of the rooms are accessed from the outdoors. This was my second stay here and I think that my memories of the place were actually nicer than the place itself. As with most motels, the photos that you see on their website are professionally taken and manipulated to make things seem way nicer than they actually are. Case in point, the website shows the exact same room in the photos for the deluxe and the classic king rooms. In the photos, the motel looks plush and inviting. The rooms seem clean and well maintained and overall, you feel like you're getting good value for your money. The first time I stayed here, the room was booked for me as I was on a work trip. I only stayed here from around 10pm until check out the next morning and so my experience was very limited. Because I had been here before, when I decided to bring my wife and her mom on vacation, I looked them up. That is where my memory must have been a bit foggy because I remembered it being pretty nice and the prices that I was looking at were great compared to other nearby places. What the motel staff didn't know was that I would be able to enter into two of their rooms and this is where I felt lied to. I booked a deluxe king suite for my wife and I and to save mom some money, I booked her the classic king. Ours was on the 9th floor and mom's was on the 7th. They were EXACTLY the same and when I questioned the front desk about it, they said that the only difference is that our room has older antique furniture. So, if you never knew the difference, you are literally paying more for the same room. It seems that each floor of this motel has mostly the same room just with different furniture inside and that wouldn't be a bad thing if the rooms were quiet. We heard and smelled most of our neighbors as well as noise from the street below and it would also help if the rooms were cleaned well. Our shower had someone else's long black hairs on the wall, there was soap scum and grit and grime in every crevice. The room overall feels worn out and you cannot enjoy the balconies because the mini splits are mounted to the ceiling and cause the whole balcony to be crazy hot and uncomfortable. Add to that the fact that even though you have air conditioning controls in your room, they seem to have no effect on the machine's settings whatsoever. You either have it on or off at whatever temperature they've preset it for. My suggestion for this motel is that since the water pressure is terrible. Install some handheld shower heads that can be taken from the holder and used to rinse. My wife had to get back into the shower three times to get the soap off of her. I know this is running long but conscious travelers ought to know the details. They have an elevator, but it only runs from the 3rd floor to the top so be prepared to lug your baggage up a two-story flight of stairs before you get to the lobby where the elevator is. They have a very small swimming pool that we didn't use because by the time we came back from our day trips, it was already closed, and the saving grace of the establishment is the onsite Paniolo bar and cafe. All of the bar tenders were super friendly and welcoming. This little outdoor oasis serves craft coffee in the mornings and is mostly a full bar for the entire day. Everything they serve from the beer to the sandwiches is all locally sourced and the prices are competitive. Ben and Julia were awesome! As for the motel. If you're like me and basically need a bed to crash in. They are surprisingly comfortable. We spent most of each day away from the motel so paying a premium wouldn't have made much sense. This place is within walking distance to the Ala Moana Center shopping mall, a convenient ABC store and Waikiki beach and the Ala Moana beach park. The don't oversell their parking spaces so if you land one, you won't need to worry about having a spot, but the lot is a nightmare, and they charge $30 per night. Add that to the surprise transient fees on top of the regular resort fees and when you're done, you'll still save a little bit of money. All three in our party agreed that we would definitely stay here again. We would even recommend the Equus to others who are traveling to Honolulu but then again. We are frugal and forgiving when it comes to certain standards that others may have stronger convictions about.

    Stains on the "clean" pillows.

Save yourself. Please. Horribly unclean, even after a request for special attention to the glaring red flags in the bathroom... Thankfully the front desk staff is friendly, but it really doesn't make up for the horror. I was crawling in my skin the entire time. Worst offender was the red crust ON the top sheet when we opened the bed. A photo is worth a thousand words, so I'll let them do the talking... ALSO! If you have any family/friends that can't go up stairs, please know that it is seemingly stair access only to the lobby.

We booked a room at the Equus through Southwest Hotels, and we're so glad we found this place. It's a small boutique "hotel" that's a step up from a motel, but not as fancy as a more well-established hotel. Rene the front desk receptionist is super nice! She was very kind to hold our bags for us until it was time to check in. This is such a prime location, with a short walk to Ala Moana Mall, and a 10-15 walk to Waikiki Beach. The Equus kind of has a beachfront motel-ish kind of vibe. The elevator was kind of janky, and the shower is kind of cramped and dark, but our room was otherwise convenient and comfortable. A safe was available to store small valuables. They also provide plenty of complimentary beach towels you can take on your beach adventures as well. Thanks Equus for the wonderful stay!

The staff was very unorganized and parking was a big problem. The hotel was on a busy street and very noisy. The elevator was a bit scary. They did make an effort to make the room look nice. Be careful with boutique hotels!

Very Old Outdated Hotel in older part of Honolulu. Floor was filthy on checkin. The furniture for the King room worn, TV small. Air cooler goes off if you shut lights off at night, makes this uncomfortable in the Heat. Elevator slow and only one. Pool is small and cold(not heated). Entrance to hotel steep steps, not for Handicap. Resort fee charged for what?? Do not recommend.

Small but sufficient room in Equus.

WORDS TO DESCRIBE Halepuna Hotel: Modern, clean, safe, economically and environmentally friendly (bamboo room cards, water dispensers for your reusable water bottles), bright, airy, quality service in hospitality and room service LOCATION I loved staying at the Halepuna Hotel. It was centrally located at the beach walk, so ABC Store, shops, restaurants, and the beach were all within walking distance. *It was difficult finding the location of the hotel, when we first arrived. There was no big sign that you can spot, while you're driving, so my landmarks I always looked for were the ABC Store and Denny's. STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone that we came across during our stay was very friendly, generous, kind, and attentive. A shoutout to the Valet Service crew, especially RJ. He gave us recommendations for where to go. He always made us smile and laugh with his jokes. Thank you Uncle! AMENITIES: ROOMS Our room was equipped with charge stations-usb and usb c compatible plugs, ironing board/iron, mini fridge, ice bucket, tea kettle, and coffee maker. BATHROOM Well stocked with towels, a drying cord, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I appreciated that instead of your standard toilet, the hotel had bidets! *Great water pressure for showering. The tub was also spacious, if you wanted to take a bubble bath. 8TH FLOOR GYM-Equipped with a lot of machines Water dispenser Additional restrooms/shower room LAUNDRY ROOM is open 24/7 There are 3 washers and 4 dryers You can pay using your credit card or download the WASH CONNECT app *Friendly suggestions: -As a guest, bring your own laundry soap/dryer sheets--or go to the ABC Store if you forget your laundry supplies -Make sure to clean the lint trap before you put your clothes in -Put a timer on your phone to check on your clothes GARDEN -Serene, tranquil, peaceful, spacious -------- Friendly Suggestions for Halepuna Hotel -Have a big sign stationed outside the hotel, perhaps elevate the height of the sign and add lights to it, so it's easy to spot for first time visitors ------- All in all I enjoyed staying at the Halepuna Hotel. The services and amenities provided were excellent. I can't wait to visit again soon! Mahalo Halepuna Hotel!

I recently stayed at Halepula in Waikiki and unfortunately left disappointed overall…read more The reception staff were very warm and kind upon arrival, which was one of the highlights of the stay. However, several other issues significantly impacted the experience. I paid for a standard "view" room, but the only thing visible from my room was the neighboring hotel. There was absolutely no view of the sun, sky, beach, or anything remotely scenic, which felt misleading for Waikiki accommodations. Room service offerings were also very poor and not something I would recommend. The biggest concern was the elevator situation. The elevators were apparently experiencing issues during my stay, and on my final night a couple ran out of the elevator on my floor visibly terrified after the elevator dropped while the emergency alarm was going off. I called to complain afterward, but no warning signs or barriers were placed in front of the elevator. Guests were still expected to use it, and everyone on the property was forced to share a single elevator on a busy Friday night. Overall, the safety concerns, poor room experience, and lackluster service would make it difficult for me to recommend staying here.

Although, I am disappointed that the adult pool closes at 6 PM, which all the other pools close at 9 PM. There is a private beach area, which my kids enjoyed. Beach chairs are $26 each, which are quite expensive. I appreciate the $65 per night dinning credit, which we utilized at the on site market for snacks and water. We enjoyed the brief firework show from our balcony suite. We attended the on site Huli Huli event, which was quite disappointing. Instead of calling housekeeping I went directly downstairs to the front desk. Front desk personnel were busy as there were only 2 people assisting the long line of quests. I decided I'll just deal with the room uncleanliness later. Please be advised that I did take pictures. Once I checked out on Sunday, March 8th, I advised the front desk personnel my concerns. It's ideal if you want a quiet stay and plan to spend most of your time relaxing in your room from the lanai.

Aloha Yelpstars, I'm a little confused by some of the Sheraton Waikiki ratings…read more Let's get into this... For my wife's bday celebration she chose to return to the Sheraton Waikiki. She last visited 5 years ago with some girlfriends and always spoke highly of the property and hotel. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon for our 9 day stay. Immediately I noticed that every employee I contacted went above and beyond to greet me and make sure if I needed help they would handle my situation. Staff here from valet, pool staff, housekeeping, bell desk, hotel check in, and even landscaping are well trained and operating on a higher than 90% of hotels out there. This level of service continued from our first to last day folks. Wendy our housekeeper was awesome and remember to tip appropriately! I want to talk about a common complaint I see in the reviews. Cost. I hate to slap you in the face with this but prices aren't what they used to be. Yes, this is a very expensive property. For us, it was worth the splurge that maybe will only be done every 5 years, but there's a reason for the high price. This hotel is roughly 2,500 miles away from the continental US and in my opinion one of the best ocean front properties in the world and you have to pay for that. If you are going to complain about cost then please stay home. Everything on an island that isn't naturally there has to be shipped there. So cost is obviously higher. I was last in Waikiki in 1995 as a child. I remember it then and seeing it again now was amazing. The food, city, and the ability to rent a car and leave the city in a flash is something unique in this paradise. The Sheraton adults only pool and the views that the ocean side hotel rooms provide are unparalleled. The kids pool is also above and beyond for the under 16-year-old age group. God speed Sheraton Waikīkī, I will return.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and while many aspects were excellent--like the fantastic service,…read moredelicious food at the restaurant, and a beautiful pool area .( 5 star ) No water at the room and store is not open 24 hour , if you come back hotel late night you have to go to the room take a bottle and come back outside fill the bottle. we had a very disappointing experience with the restaurant staff. They refused to serve us food at the pool, saying it was "dinner time" even though it was just 5 p.m. When we went inside and asked to be seated at the restaurant- they refused again, saying we didn't meet the dress code--even though it was still early evening. This was the only restaurant/dining option at the hotel, I have to take a shower change and and then I can eat something at the hotel .. where I The worst part was the extremely rude behavior from both the restaurant manager, Cassidy and another staff member, John. I told then if I change I can go outside of the hotel with lots of options and the guy (John say 2 time back to back we don't need you to come back hear , Both had an incredibly rude tone and displayed a lack of respect that should never be seen in customer service, especially from managers. After this, we left, and we couldn't enjoy the beach or pool for the rest of the day. Essentially, our entire day was ruined. A hotel should offer at least one casual dining option for guests, or they can have a section at same restaurant at least till same time as pool are open this was a huge disappointment. (0 star ) Hotel guests should be allowed to have food and beverages at anytime.
