We visited this place based on the many positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was…read morevery disappointing. We tried calling several times to make a reservation, but no one answered, and we couldn't find any online booking system. It left us wondering--how do people even manage to get a table here? When we arrived, we saw an empty table with no reservation sign on it. However, the chef saw us, came over, and abruptly said, "We're full!" before we could even ask a question, then walked away. One of the staff members also completely ignored us, which felt quite rude and unwelcoming. No matter how good the food might be, this kind of attitude makes us not want to return. They seriously need to improve their reservation system and reconsider how they treat potential customers.

I have been here 3 times now already and the third time has only confirmed the first impression I…read morehad when I first came here. This place is for me the best sushi place as far as quality/price is concerned. The quality of the sushi is just exquisite and definitely equals that of some other restaurants who offer the same freshness and variety but for double the price. Seriously. Nevertheless, it is not only about the sushi. The restaurant offers a separate menu with the house suggestions presenting different kinds of Japanese appetizers that are really delicious and so ... Japanese. The best way to enjoy these appetizers is to order a bunch of them and share them. The last time I went there, my friends and I had the squid carpaccio (in a citrusy juice), agedashi tofu (fried to perfection), eggplant in miso sauce (I'm not a big fan of eggplant, but this dish was a game-changer), layered eggplant with beef (very tasty) and an assortment of tempura (not greasy at all and crusty until the end of our meal). We wanted to order the o-toro (fatty tuna) sashimi as well, but they don't have that one on Mondays, which means I will have to come back. But I don't see that as a problem, :). After our appetizers, we continued our meal with some sushi and sashimi. As already mentioned earlier, exquisite. As far as the place itself is concerned. Well, let's say it makes you feel in a small sushi joint in Japan. The place is small - but cozy -, so reservation is recommended. There is no AC, but only a couple of fans working in times of warm weather, definitely gives it a local feeling. On some days, it can be filled with Japanese people who really know how to enjoy their food, which makes you really feel as if you were in Japan for a little bit. Another nice factor is that you can order a bottle of shoju and leave it there with your name if you weren't able to finish it, so you can continue the next time you come again. Neat, isn't it? So, to conclude, there is definitely nothing that would stop me from going there again. Ok, I forgot to mention that the waiter can come off as a little bit arrogant. However, once you start chatting with him, he is unstoppable. :). The chef on the other hand doesn't say much, but I blame that on the fact that he's very concentrated behind the sushi bar, so no big deal. Can't wait to go there again.

Finally... I can officially check-in and make a review as a fellow Yelper :) (thanks to the…read moreencouragement of my hubby and friends who are also fellow Yelpers). The choice was made quite easily, I LOVE SUSHI's so Sushi Restaurant it is! Luckily for me, this restaurant was available through Resto Lastminute as it was a last minute decision and added to that I already had a first experience with this restaurant through delivery, so why not try on spot. Before booking, I went to Yelp to check if the restaurant has great reviews, and I saw an alert that since it's holiday, it's better to call them first before booking. I then tapped on the alert box and was directed to their phone where I had an answering machine that mentioned they're on holiday from mid-July to end July 2015 (hmmm...we're already the 15th of August tho!). Surprise surprise, just after I hung up, I immediately received a call, and believe it or not it was the restaurant calling me back and informing me that they are indeed open.. what a good start !!! As usual arriving a bit late, I've tried to call them but then again no answer. But lo and behold, they rang me up and I was able to inform them of our late arrival. We've been able to park easily just in front of the restaurant. We we're greeted by the waiter who recognised us when I told him "reservation through Resto Lastminute" (after multiple calls I totally understand why), he proposed us to choose a table that suited us. Once we're seated, I started checking up the place (of course for my first review it has to be a thorough one). Pros : - Decoration was subtle yet elegant; - Sushi chef was visible immediately when you enter the restaurant and there's a Teppan Yaki bar at the back of the restaurant; - Ordering menus was through an electronic device (ipad style). This was very ingenious, although you still have to inform the waiter for some request (allergy issues, serving everything at the same time, etc.); - Service is impeccable (the waiter was very polite and speak at least 4 languages). They remembered that I was allergic to shrimps and replaced it with another fish. Points to improve : - Only one waiter to assist at least 9 tables (a couple per table), maybe because it was a holiday; - Chairs we're so heavy and uncomfortable - Attention to details that we're very opposite from each other (from high-end ordering menus, original business cards then passing to a basic on-the-go chopsticks (that I never achieve to break in the middle), paper napkins, serving basket with a piece of paper for krupuks. Food : - Wakame salad was presented on top of a coleslaw salad (double salad for the price of one); - Sushis were ok, not that spectacular but the rice was cooked perfectly (it just melt on your mouth) and the fishes too (not stringy like at some Sushi restaurants); - Miso soup was bland (I think they forgot to seasoned it because it just tasted like water with tofu and a tasteless wakame seaweed); - Dessert : limited choice and a bit pricey for what you'll have. I ordered a Green Tea Mochi and was served with two small sized mochis (very cold but tasted good) with a quarter of diced mango and a splurged of industrial whipped cream. Poops Corner : - Separate restrooms (male and female); - 2 toilets for ladies where one is already out of order; - Clean WC with sufficient fluffy toilet paper; - Plain restroom (very Chinese restaurant style) with only one sink and a faucet surrounded by brownish dirt (sorry TMI); - Hand soap that smells like Savon de Marseille and a hand dryer machine Price : Like all Japanese restaurants in Belgium, they're quite expensive for what they really tend to offer. It's the case for this restaurant, so be careful when you order as the total receipt increases quickly. Luckily for us, we had a 30% discount and was able to try some starters, main and even dessert. I will not call this a 100% Japanese restaurant but you're sure to find in their menu card the traditional sushis, sashimis, makis, california rolls, tempuras with a few Donburi's and some Teppan Yaki's.

Overpriced for what it is. Way too complicated tablet computer menu system. Food ok but could be…read moresimpler, quicker and better.
