This definitely is a venue that will hold great potential in the future…read more It feels like they are just getting their feet wet. And using it as an Airbnb. I do think the price is a little steep for what you get. They are definitely close to perfection and being able to charge a premium if they just invested a little more money into the bathroom and finishing touches I think they would have a five-star venue that allows them weddings and overnight stays for travelers. That said, It is not a place for small children. The banister spacing upstairs was extremely wide and the TV was just leaning on top of the dresser downstairs. There are multiple things that just look like punch list items and hopefully in the future will be addressed. I will say that our stay was fair although when asked for the password to log on to the TV because there is no antenna we received no response to our request, and happy we did not run out of toilet paper LOL as it was left with a quarter roll. We were interested in saying the rest of the venue as a possible location for an event for us later in the year. And it did seem a little difficult to arrange this. The caretakers of the property are blunt and to the point. And seem to be new hires. The facility is still under construction in many locations but beautiful and rustic. The only complaint would seem to be the downstairs basement is where the bathroom is located and the space seems very misused as there's an extremely large kitchenette that almost seems out of place and both are VERY! subpar for the venue. The bathroom is very cramped and has a 1970s plastic shower stall. If they were to just move one wall they would have a wonderful five star bathroom . They could put a Soaker tub and walk in shower that would pale in comparison to any Resort and they could easily double the rental price.!!! The upstairs also seems to be on the cusp of perfection is extremely large but feels unutilized to its potential. A bathroom Suite could easily be added upstairs as it is highly inconvenient walking down two flights of stairs to a basement in the middle of the night. None of this was Express before renting the location. Definitely looking forward to seeing the progression of this beautiful historic building and site but wish our stay was better

Well what started out as not so nice, turned pleasant. First off the water is terrible, well water…read morevery brown from iron and smelly as well water is. (Dont drink bring water and or double filter it). Spots are very close together, things in general are in need if repair. So two days in we find out, these are the new owners, they just bought this in april. Needless to say they have not had time to put a plan together and find all problems or time to aleaviate them. Will whom was the manager care giver was absolutely great, he was jonny on the spot for any of our quandaries. He was great and courtious. My sister in law was unable to bring her trailer and asked if she could get a refund, instead he put her in a vrbo trailer it was awesome. The place is a Bit run down needs some TLC. So please do not take previous reviews to heart. THEY are new owners trying to fix thing on the fly. They resanded the beach while we were there, and that is a start. A BIG SHOUT OUT TO WILL AND STAFF. Thankyou the Albrights.

STAY AWAY!!! In the past year, I have experienced more Buck Lake Ranch than I would wish on my…read moreworst enemy. I witnessed a run down and mismanaged campground on the verge of being shut down when I was introduced to Buck Lake Ranch a year ago...then a wise management hiring decision led to a quick, and much needed, turnaround with the maintenance and general upkeep of the property. With that, came a turnaround in the campground community vibe, structure, and involvement there at Buck Lake Ranch. It was becoming a nice family friendly get away spot with an awesome sense of community amongst the campers. Unfortunately, all of that has quickly dissolved under the recent management changes there at Buck Lake Ranch in Angola, IN. There have been frequent police presence with the homeless and drug addicts they have invited to stay there recently. There has been a camper on the lakefront for a long time in complete disarray and looks abandoned...Buck Lake Ranch recently had the Humane Shelter come and remove very large dogs from living in the same camper unattended, owned by one of the current Buck Lake Ranch management. There have been numerous electrical and plumbing issues at the campsites. The latest Hippie Magic Festival this weekend is usually their big cash grab for the year and this year's attendance was noticeably less than it was the previous year of both campers and vendors. I've witnessed overflowing septic tanks throughout Buck Lake Ranch and would consider it a health risk to handle anything to do with their sewage ports. The state should probably should be called to do their own soil samples around the campground soon to dispel my concerns about ground saturation of sewage at the campsites. I wouldn't want my, or anyone's, family exposed to it. When camper's issues have come up lately at Buck Lake Ranch, it's not met with the professionalism and consistency of the previous management...but instead you're met with unwarranted hostility, and possible other issues, from the owner and his female friend/campground manager. There are people in the world that just want to do good things and see people be happy and succeed and then there are individuals who are driven by greed, ignorance, and most of all...ego. Buck Lake Ranch is no longer an enjoyable campground to visit and I predict will probably shut down within the year. Very sad thing to see, wish the best for the campers that are leaving there very soon after so many years of visiting. I would suggest that the female manager at Buck Lake Ranch get better educated on business management, take an adult class in education and life management, settle your legal issues, ask your alcoholic ex to stop stalking campers and sleeping in the woods at Buck Lake Ranch (it's weird), and learn to act like an adult who is control of their emotions. I can't say much to the owner...he knows EXACTLY who he is, what he is and what he's doing. Very disappointed. Stay away from Buck Lake Ranch....find a safer and more enjoyable campground to take your family :(
