We've had multiple property switches which made things a little confusing in the front office, but each team that came in has been kind and respectful (though the most recent team Susan Kong and Co. are much more on top of things in terms of responding to issues in a timely manner.) The only reason I feel truly compelled to take off a star is because getting laundry done is such a hassle. There's only two washer and dryer units per laundry room and more often than not one of the washers and dryers isn't operational which makes laundry and all day endeavor. But outside of laundry, I would recommend K Street Flats to just about anyone. It's in the heart of Downtown Berkeley, right next to the Central Library Branch. There's also BART just down the street, multiple bus lines, drug stores, a Target and lots of indie bookstores. The unit itself is spacious, maintenance responds in a timely manner and I do feel safe in and around the building, so yes, I've had a great experience living here as someone who has a small child and isn't a college student.

These fellas came in cleaned up the site after they done they wiped my appliances down and made them all shine when they were done. The work was completed in sections over the week and it was quick. My complex manager was extremely accommodating when I provided my work schedule and requested some particulars around my renovations week. I honestly don't have anything but good things to say about my complex, the manager , and the maintenance work crew they are all really nice and just great folks. Ever since we got the new manger things have gotten so much better. I have kids also and my kids feel safe and comfortable living here and being all around the complex .

Not only is he one of the kindest people I've met in a long time, but it's also clear that he genuinely cares about the community and making it a better and more enjoyable place for everyone. Anytime we run into him in the halls or need to stop by the office he's always in a great mood and quick to help in any way he can. It's nice to have someone so dedicated to improving the property and the experience for residents. While there are still some cons to living here such as cleanliness in some of the common areas and the fact that the shared spaces are often unavailable on weekends because they're booked for private parties and events, it's reassuring to know that we now have someone managing the community who is clearly prioritizing improvements. I also want to highlight the new maintenance guys. I truly can't say enough good things about them. They are incredibly attentive and quick to respond when something needs to be fixed in your apartment, and they're genuinely kind people as well. It makes a huge difference knowing that issues are handled as quickly as possible. For transparency, the leasing agent who was previously known for being rude to applicants and unkind to residents still works in the leasing office. However, unless you are actively renting an apartment, you really don't have to interact with her. Overall, Will is doing a great job bringing in new team members and making positive changes throughout the community. We literally look at each other every day with big smiles and say, "We love our new home." Before this, we lived in Pleasant Hill and spent a LOT of time searching for a bigger apartment that was still within a reasonable price range. It honestly felt discouraging at times--either the management was unresponsive, rude, or the places just didn't feel right. Then we found this place... and we truly couldn't believe it. First of all, Angela, the manager, is AH-MAAAZING!! --we literally call her our angel. From the very beginning, she was so warm, helpful, and easy to work with during the tour and application process. But what really makes her stand out is how much she genuinely cares--not just about the property, but about the people who live here. That kind of management is rare. And I don't say that lightly. At our previous place, we dealt with extremely poor and neglectful management--so much so that it actually put our safety at risk. And at other properties we toured, the managers were so rude that it made us think, "Is this what it would be like dealing with you regularly?" Hard pass. Living here has been the complete opposite. Carmen is very professional, always listens to tenant's requests, and a really pleasant person to interact with. And maintenance employees are always fast, courteous, and professional. If there a problem, they're always little things from time to time, it gets fixed usually the next day. There was a number of improvements that happen during my years at Reserve At Walnut Creek. One of the things that our family really appreciates is a dog washing station. It was built about 2 1/2 years ago l. I think. If you have a dog, it is so convenient. You will love it! More recent updates include all the pool furniture, and I think something about a hot tub. Don't know what they did, but it looks like it's very quiet now, and very powerful. I also love and use a gym on the side of the pool. To summarize, I highly recommend this rental property to anyone who is looking. Did I mention it is so close to downtown? We love to walk with our dog through the streets at Walnut Creek.
