We tried a menu and a monthly special that was amazing but the February Firecrackers (appetizer) were the best new thing we have tried in ages!! Maybe I expected too much. Read the great yelp reviews and had a couple of friend's verbal recommendations. Had to check this place out! Literally drove way out of the way just to try The Dump, but things weren't too special. Soup was excellent, everything else was less than expected. First of all, we went on a Friday afternoon at 12:50pm and the place was busy. Checked in and got our name in the waiting list and were told '"it shouldn't be too long". 55 mins later, our name was called. The most annoying thing about the wait was that people who just walked in, would jump at "bar seating" whenever someone even started to pay a bill. (Keep that in mind if you are on a wait list! Hover at the bar!). There is also a back bar that can't be seen from the check in area. Once seated, we got our drinks pretty quick, and our soup about 10 mins later. By the time we got our food it was an hour and 20 minutes from when we got on the wait list. In all fairness, we arrived at probably the very worst time possible, because people who came in after us got seated much quicker because the "lunch rush" was clearing out. I'll start with the soup. It was a Shrimp and Fish Chowder. Like I said.. it was great! The burgers however were the reason for our quest.... And they were an average and a big let down. Maybe it was just a bad day, but they just weren't special. Both lacked flavor, and the bacon was overdone. Service was stressed, they did their best to be friendly, but they were so rushed that we felt more like a number than a customer. We even were served our soup twice because they had no idea if it was delivered already. Also, where are the cash only signs? Didn't see one on the door when we came in. They do have a ATM available though. Sadly, this was a big let down and the wait was terrible. Might have been more tolerable if they had a better idea of the wait time when we checked in. "it shouldn't be long" is not 55 minutes! 2 Hours (start to finish) for an afternoon lunch is crazy. read more

Went on Wednesday at 12:28. All the tables were taken, except the one we got. The server quickly offered to take our drink order and we were ready to order 2 The Dump burgers with fries. It took 15 minutes to get our water. There were 3 servers that were working the back room, and maybe other tables as well The Dump burgers and fries arrived at 1:26, which was 58 minutes to get burgers! Both my friend's fries and mine were cold. We ate them because after an hour waiting we were hungry. The best I can say about the burgers is that they were tall. They were at least medium WELL and dry, rather than the medium we requested. Again, we were hungry so we ate them. The server asked how the food was but we did not want to wait another hour so we ate them. We drove from Madison to try it because it was rated 1 of the best 8 burgers in Wisconsin. It is too far to go again, but even if it was 1 mile away, I would not go back. I gave it 2 stars because the food was edible, barely. It was $18.50 for each burger and fries. read more

This burger place has been on my to-do list for years...finally made it on a Thursday for lunch. Get there early, as the tables fill up. The service staff was great even though they had a ton of tables. Hope you're not in any hurry. Started with fried cheesecurds. The curds were hot and gooey. Yum. The three of us all tried different burgers: The Dump burger, Green Olive burger, and mushroom Swiss burger. All three burgers were perfectly cooked to order. I was impressed with the Kaiser rolls---not too bready and safely held the huge burgers to avoid burger avalanches. The selection of burgers is vast and offers something for everyone. I thought my food was horrible. The drink was not good. The bartender not once came over and asked how my food was and I waited and waited and waited to get my bill. I then posted this on Google reviews and the company replied would not even say I am sorry they completely denied it. Cool local spot, pretty busy, but they have a lot on the menu so there is something for everyone. I got a pb and j burger which was good. It came with chips and if you want anything other than chips you have to pay for the full cost of the new side but still don't get the chips. Seemed kind of silly since you are paying full price for the side itself, you should get both or they should add the option to upgrade for a lower cost. My wife and daughter stopped there last summer on the way to a professional convention on a weekday. They were treated like shit and told they weren't serving food. Other people were being served and the place wasn't packed so obviously that wasn't true. Finally we're able to stop by as we were in the area. We had heard good things about this place from friends. First the place is decorated nicely and the people are wonderful. The food was delicious. The chicken salad sandwich was very tasty. However, I ordered a side salad and it was nothing special for the price. I would never order that again. And I was pleasantly surprised by the chips as a side. I was expecting plain ole potato chips and that was not the case. They were delicious. A definite place to go! Heard that they had good burgers and that was certainly the case! Stopped in with the family for lunch on the way back to Milwaukee from the Dells. Walked in and greeted warmly. Place was clean and well kept. Sat down and immediately got service. Waitress/bartender was very friendly. We all ordered burgers. A bacon cheese, the Cajun, and the "hanky panky" (burger of the month). We all thoroughly enjoyed our burgers (and tots)! Stopped and had burgers last night. The food was great I'd give it a 4+ stars and same rating for servers as they were very good. The experience was much difference, they only accept cash and we needed a little more and had to use the ATM here, and the ATM was down. They had to call a manager in to fix, and it was almost a half hour when they were finally there and ATM running. We had told it would be nice if they had a way to offer another form of payment for when this happens. We talked to manager about this and she just smiled at us and said oh we just ran out of money in the ATM and smiled at us, she was so rude. Broasted chicken is awesome. I've been coming to this place since they made tombstone pizza in the 1970's. The burgers are incredible, the wings are fantastic. The Bloody Mary is sooo yummy. In fact I haven't had one bad meal here ever! My favorite burger was the Bloody Mary burger served years ago and I thought it was the best burger I've ever had. Had a Bloody Mary, beer chaser and it was excellent. We then ordered the Friday 3 pc Cod fish fry with fries, coleslaw and the most fresh rye bread. This is now our "go to" place. We love being able to get a delicious fish dinner early in the day (starts 11:00 am) and not dealing with a packed house. The servers were very attentive and nice. They have roasted chicken and a good size menu with 22 appetizers, 17 burgers 18 sandwiches, 5 wraps, 3 dinners, Friday fish fry and Wed. Wing night. Monday seniors (over 60) get 10% discount and you get a free burger if choice on your birthday. Their burgers are very good and are 1/2 pounds! I have yet to finish one in one sitting. They have monthly specials and the burger for Feb. was February's Hot Love which is a 1/2 pounder with lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, spicy dill pickle fries topped with a mild Sriracha sauce. All chips come with chips unless you want to trade out for a different side. Bottom line if your out for a drive and find yourself in Cambria, The Dump is the place to go. It is family friendly too. Our monthly group got together today at The Dump in Cambria- we sat outside as the weather was perfect. There was lots of seating outside on 3 different levels. Our waitress was absolutely the best- everybody's food was wonderful and they said the hamburgers were the best they had ever had. I would recommend this place. We will definitely go back. read more

Burgers are, I'm going to say it because I can't think of a better one, the best! Cambria is a town of less than 800 but this place was packed on Wednesday evening.
