I've gone to this tailor multiple times because the location is convenient. He does overcharge, but…read morein the past the work was at least acceptable--so I kept going. That changed with my most recent suit. The alterations were objectively bad. The jacket was visibly lopsided: one sleeve was about an inch longer than the other, one side of the jacket hadn't been taken in at all, and the pants were tapered far too tight. To make matters worse, the elbow seam hadn't even been sewn properly. I had already paid, so when I pointed all this out, I was told to bring the suit back and they'd "take care of it." Fine. Mistakes happen--what matters is how they're handled. When I picked up the suit after the supposed fixes, I was charged again for correcting their own mistakes. That's the real issue here. They do not stand behind their work. If the outcome is wrong, the responsibility is pushed back onto the customer. That's poor craftsmanship paired with poor ethics. You don't pay for an attempt--you pay for a finished result. If a tailor won't honor the quality of their own work, that's a red flag. I'd strongly recommend finding another tailor, and explicitly asking upfront whether they stand behind their alterations. These guys do not.

A heads up, they are located on the top floor without an elevator in the building, so get your exercise and climb those stairs.

She said yes! I said the jacket new isn't more than $350; she said, well than buy the new jacket; I asked why so much? She said she wants to "respect her tailors". I asked, how much is to put a zipper in jeans? She said $150. Needless to say for $150 you can also buy new jeans. I proceeded to the door with my jacket in my hands, not knowing what to make of what just occurred. Fast forward a few weeks, I'm in Nordstroms, a fairly decent retail clothing store. They have house seamstresses, who I asked if they put zippers in jackets and how much that would be. The seamstress replied, "$40". So, seems like the New Antoine's "respects" it's tailors 6x than Nordstroms, who must be mistreating them and keeping them labouring in their Nordstroms sweatshop with no food or breaks. So, I decided to not be a part of it and left. Furthermore, the next time I take my car and the mechanic wants to charge me 6x the going rate, it will be because he must be respecting his workers, not trying to rip me off and send a good client away and eventually go out of business because of insulting long time clients for asking outrageous and unreasonable prices

If I have any major alterations or on my nicer items in my wardrobe I bring them here without question. He is at the top of his game and really knows what he's doing and gets the items finished in a timely manner. There have been times where I have brought in an evening gown or a nice pair of jeans and just told him it didn't look right and he would have a solution--often little things I wouldn't think of that made all the difference in my clothes looking perfect on me and making me look more put together. He is on the pricier side for repairs but again if it's an important /nicer item or a major job I would not take it anywhere else

Some people mention having to wait to be let in the door but our arrival is interrupting him while he's up there working so yes, sometimes he needs a minute to let you in. My wife had gifted me a new professional wardrobe after I hadn't needed new clothes for couple…read moreyears thanks to COVID. I needed them to be altered and her stylist suggested this tailor shop. Even though I live in Santa Monica, which is quite a schlep in traffic (an hour each way), I decided to take that advice because I didn't want to ruin good suits. I needed 3 pants hemmed and a handful of jackets taken in because I was between sizes and couldn't get a perfect fit that wasn't too tight or too large. I arrived to a tiny shop with just one employee who kept telling me how busy he was and made me wait, instead of taking a brief break from his work to help me. Finally, instead of listening to my needs, he immediately told me that these jackets are from 10 year-old style (they're brand new from a very trendy shop!) and would need to be completely dismantled and rebuilt at a very high cost apiece. Insisted that what I had come in for wasn't an issue and dismissed my needs. The price I was quoted was very high but since I was leaving on an important work trip and didn't have time to comparison shop, I accepted it as long as they could have the work done before my trip (which was 5 days away). They said they're busy but promised, in writing, that they'd have it done before my trip, knowing I needed many of the items for my trip. Since my wife works closer to the tailor shop and I couldn't afford 2 hours roundtrip in traffic again, she kindly agreed to leave work a little early to pick everything up. She showed up to discover that not only had the work NOT been even STARTED, but the owner and one employee didn't even REMEMBER my job. When she showed them the work slip, they couldn't recall what I needed done, when though I had been there just days before. They even TORE OPEN THE SEAM of one of the jackets to see if they had actually done the work and realized they hadn't!! My wife, frustrated and losing all trust in them, left and they didn't even offer to fix the seam they'd just torn open on a very expensive BRAND NEW SUIT with tags still attached. Now, 5 days later, and after I wasted 3 hours of my life (including 2 in the car) and my wife wasted over an hour of hers, I have multiple items of clothing which STILL need alterations, including one jacket that has an open seam. I wish I had read the reviews on here before wasting so much time and energy to go to this business. They have poor customer service, and do not act in an accountable manner. I expect far more for a high-priced Beverly Hills tailor. They will never get my business. I encourage you to read all their reviews.
