Was a customer for years until...came back to find out new rules, like by appointment only, though that was not all...I brought a short jacket for which I needed a simple zipper to be changed, the lady said "250!"; I asked 250? She said yes! I said the jacket new isn't more than $350; she said, well than buy the new jacket; I asked why so much? She said she wants to "respect her tailors". I asked, how much is to put a zipper in jeans? She said $150. Needless to say for $150 you can also buy new jeans. I proceeded to the door with my jacket in my hands, not knowing what to make of what just occurred. Fast forward a few weeks, I'm in Nordstroms, a fairly decent retail clothing store. They have house seamstresses, who I asked if they put zippers in jackets and how much that would be. The seamstress replied, "$40". So, seems like the New Antoine's "respects" it's tailors 6x than Nordstroms, who must be mistreating them and keeping them labouring in their Nordstroms sweatshop with no food or breaks. So, I decided to not be a part of it and left. Furthermore, the next time I take my car and the mechanic wants to charge me 6x the going rate, it will be because he must be respecting his workers, not trying to rip me off and send a good client away and eventually go out of business because of insulting long time clients for asking outrageous and unreasonable prices read more

I have been coming to this establishment for years. It's the only place I go to to take all my clothing for alterations. I trust them, I've never had an issue with them. A word of caution.....they are pricey. If you want your alterations done right, go to this place. I wouldn't steer you wrong. I've taken everything, from a simple hem on pants and jeans to delicate designer clothing. I've never had an issue. It's always done right. I will continue to go to them, and I highly recommend them. This place is fabulous! I had to have my wedding dress altered and had no idea where to go. A friend of mine had her dress done here and said it turned out great so I went. The bust had to be let out without letting out the waist and there wasn't enough fabric in the dress....Great I thought, how are we going to match the exact color (my dress was slightly off white).....but they actually found some fabric that matched some of the highlight champagne color in the embroidery and made it work! The dress was even better than when I brought it in.....and the fit was perfect. Everyone commented on it on my wedding day. The dress was ready when they said it would be and Gary was always available for fittings/alterations as I got closer to my date. The alteration was very reasonably priced compared to what I had been quoted as I was shopping around. I definitely recommend them for any alterations and I will be going back. read more

Unfortunately I had a really negative experience here. I had something altered for an event and the day before the event when I went to pick up the item, I had to wait for an hour just to be told they had LOST my item. They had given it to someone else but didn't know who.... the way this was handled was completely unacceptable; first, there was no apology it was brushed under the rug and no acknowledgement of how stressful and time consuming this ordeal has already been. The experience was unprofessional, rude, and time consuming. I would never return. The comment left below by the owner is incorrect. First, I'm not sure how this was considered a favor since I had never been here before and called to ask if my timeline was possible and told it was no problem. I don't think it's fair to be told they can handle a job and then have it turned into being a favor as if the customer is inconveniencing them. My boyfriend waited for 45 minutes at the store, having to move his car to another meter and then wait another 30 minutes. Two other customers were helped in the time he was there with their alterations. Absolutely not 15 minutes. Initially he was told he was at the wrong place and luckily the person who took my dress called the store letting them know she had taken it. So yes, they lost it because they did not know where it was. He went into the store at 12, left around 2 and the dress was not delivered until 5. When at the store, he were told "don't worry about it" regarding payment and then received a phone call 2 weeks later asking for payment. Paying $35 is obviously not a big deal, however, it was reiterated that this was a negative experience and stressful at which point the owner started yelling at us saying, now for a second time, forget it. At the end of the day, their comment below is a reflection of the poor customer service and lack of communication. It's clear there was a mess up with picking up my item and for this inconvenience to be put back on me as if it's my fault the customer is unacceptable. read more
