The owner is great and very professional, not really present on most days and one of the employees completely ruins the experience. If this particular woman works on your clothes, expect them to come back wrong. The workmanship is poor, details are ignored, and mistakes are not fixed correctly. My friend brought her clothes here and after dealing with repeated issues, she will not be coming back. It's disappointing because the owner does a good job when she's actually there, but one employee's bad attitude and careless work has cost them our business. read more

I live in the neighborhood and wanted to support this new local business. I dropped 3 dress shirts for dry cleaning. I was given no receipt, no quote, no date, no nothing. Apparently, the owner was out of town and others didn't know how things worked. When I picked them up, they charged me $50. The price started at $70, and they only lowered it after I expressed complete shock! For reference, $7.50 per shirt three blocks away at Park Cleaners. I literally just got taken to the cleaners. I came to get some items altered including some fancy dresses. I purposely came over 6 weeks prior to ensure that the items would be ready on time. Despite multiple calls and assurances it would be ready, I only got it the day prior to the event. The dress had pieces that were falling off and there were still multiple pins in the dress itself that I got poked with. To top it off it was super expensive and I was told that I had to pay in cash. I've been going to Varsik here for over a year now. She's done pant tapers, t-shirt hems, knit sweater hems, jean hems (original) and button down hems so far. Like all services, all you need is communication. Her and her team will get it down to exact measurements. Usually within a week's turnaround, too. Varsik will let you know when she's busy and will require a longer wait. But most importantly, what I love most about Varsik is the way she treats and works with her customers. I've seen the way she communicates with other clients at her shop while waiting for her and she's always very kind and polite. The external appearance can be deceiving, but I found the prices very reasonable, the staff very helpful, and the timeline very useful. I had to have my suit almost entirely redone in less than a week, and not only did the man I met with get that done flawlessly, he worked with us on prices to work out the best plan of action. I highly recommend G&V Tailoring. They are a business you can trust! I came to them with a suit I had purchased recently and needed buttons sewed on the jacket and pants hemmed. After I tried it on for Varsik at the shop, she showed me the jacket did not fit right. The top button sat too high on my torso and it was too small on my shoulders. She could have simply taken the order but she told me, "If you are spending the money you should get a suit that fits right. Go back and get a better jacket first." As someone who wants to look good for work but is not an expert, this is the kind of honest advice I need and value most as a customer! She has figured out how to shorten sleeves on a leather jacket with zippers, how to shorten sleeves on a suit jacket with workable buttons, and has shortened dozens of dresses, blouses, and pants for me. Called shop asking for a quote/price estimate on a coat length hem and a sleeve hem. Was asked a few questions as far as what kind of coat, if it had lining, and if the sleeves had functional buttons (to which I said yes). I received a quote/price estimate for 70$ total from owner. On the day the coat was due to be returned, I got a text saying that the sleeves have functional buttonholes and the price to shorten sleeves would be 130$ in addition to 50$ for hemming the length of the coat. I stated I was expecting 70$ (or somewhere close to 70$) and she replied with a 160 price point and stated there was a misunderstanding. I think it is a bit misleading to advertise a price point and then change it after the items have been left with the shop for a few days. read more

This business is female run business and they did a fantastic job on two of my sweaters that needed help. One sweater needed to be partially re-kniited and put back together. The other, a favorite and staple black cashmere sweater, that had moth holes. Both were expertly re-knitted and repaired. The price was really really reasonable and the women were lovley to deal with. I will never use the people at the dry cleaners who do alterations and repairs again. Support this business. Varsenick is by far the best tailor I've ever used! She's been altering and re-creating clothing for me for years and I trust her with everything she does. She has added sleeves for me on numerous dresses. I have brought in items that needed tremendous work and she has done it in such a quick amount of time! Her greatest work thus far was re-designing a bridesmaid dress for me to add material on the side because it was 4 inches from zipping, added sleeves, changed the style from a-line to mermaid, and added length with extra material. Not really sure how she got 4.5 stars, I had a good few pieces of clothing for her to tailor, she made some major mistakes, one of the dresses I could not even put on after she altered it and put on too short of a zipper, then she wanted to charge me for a bee zipper, for her mistake. In any case, I decided not to come back again. On top of everything, I went in one time to try something on, there was a man jokingly saying if he could go in the fitting space with me, that was disgusting! He was the tailor's family or employee? I was put in a very bad predicament when I had to get a suit for my best friend's wedding and through men's wearhouse they were unable to order my size pants from the manufacturer. Talk about a serious bad situation. The only thing I could do is get the exact material by ordering a size 48 pants and having them completely altered into 34 size waist. And tied on the legs because I like shoots to be fitted European style. Varsic did amazing... 10 better than I ever thought they could come out as.
