I brought in a couple items, initially, to see how they'd turn out, and have since brought all my clothing to him that's needed tailoring for the last few years. He completely transformed a pair of expensive leather pants that were a couple sizes too large and they turned out perfect. He really is an artist, and his stitching and lines are so clean. I'm not easy to please and haven't had to ask Justin to redo any of the clothing I've brought. You can see he's a perfectionist and takes great pride in the work he does. Seang Tailors is truly a 5-star tailor. I came in to get a suit jacket slightly widened and another suit jacket rebuttoned, and the work was stellar. I knew coming into this visit that getting a suit jacket widened would be very challenging and potentially not possible, and they were very honest in the inspection but indeed said it would be doable. When I came to pick it up, the suit jacket now fit perfectly! My other suit jacket looked great as well. Soon is a great tailor and one of the sweetest ladies in the business. One odd thing is she started my hemming out at $20 dollars and after my first pair bumped it up to $25, which I'm not mad about because she is so sweet and deserves the money for her good work. Turn around time for hem is about 4-6 days, I go back because she is sweet but you may be able to find. Cheaper hem if that's what you need . Soon provides personal service and she's thoughtful and sweet (we must protect her at all costs!) She has helped tailor a bridesmaid dress with three layers, transformed a long dress into a short dress, and hemmed work pants for me before. All amazing and flawless jobs. I couldn't be more happy with my pieces. Soon and her husband went above and beyond specifly with my Indian double lined skirt they brought it a new life. The waist of the skirt was so small I couldn't even zip it. So they removed the zipper added an elastic and even were able to keep the pattern to sit perfectly on the elastic. They added a new zipper to my tank that hugs my waist, they shorted my shorts and kept the cuffs at the end. Still no dress, graduation is tomorrow I dropped off my graduation dress(culturally significant, shipped from aboard) on 5/20 and gave until 6/11 (23 days) to finish it. That's more than enough time. It's now three days past the pickup date and I still haven't heard anything. I've called, left voice mails, and followed up several times with no response. I understand emergencies can happen, but completely disappearing without a single update is not okay, especially when someone's relying on you for something this important. My graduation is on 6/14. I brought 3 items, 1 jackets was for zipper replacements, 1 jacket was zipper replacement and tailor as well as 1 flannel for buttons and a stitch. Took about 2 weeks later than originally told it would be ready for pick up. Both zippers broke within the first time wearing them. The flannel that needed a stitch job was done incorrectly and now the one sleeve is way too tight to wear now. I called up and spoke with Soon and she acted like she didn't understand what I was saying. She wasn't as nice as she was when calling me to inform me my items would take another 2 weeks to finish the work. Oh and don't forget to bring cash she said. Copy that! Lastly, I paid almost $200 bucks to have every single item non wearable now. What a hack of a job they did. Really the lowest quality work for a high quality price. Be warned and go somewhere else. I certainly will but it cost me a lot to learn they can't do the job. This review isn't personal but my honest experience. read more

It's owned by the nicest and most honest couple, and their quality of work is incredible. I love them so much. Soon is so sweet and kind and does a very, very meticulous job. I also think they are very fairly priced, and she'll often feel bad and try to give me a discount because I tend to bring annoying, complicated pieces that will take a lot of effort and time. For example, I've brought a bridesmaid dress with multiple layers, and the price she ended up charging me was the same price my friend's mom who runs a tailoring business in Chicago would've charged - which is crazy to me because LA has a much higher cost of living! They've helped me with a sequined qipao, which was fairly complicated to take in because of both the design and the sequins, and they did it seamlessly - you couldn't even tell, and many people asked if I had gotten it custom made. I've also brought in a chiffon gown that had probably two meters of chiffon hem to be shortened; hard fabric to work with, and a LOT of it, and she was very realistic with me on what needs to be done, how it would be done, and how much it will cost. Additionally, I've gotten jeans hemmed, an unforgiving silk dress, and my partner's multiple pairs of suit jacket and pants. I'd trust them with anything. They are just amazing - please support this mom and pop tailor for as long as they are in business! read more

Soon is really amazing. Not only is she good at what she does, she is also very honest. I asked her for her honest opinion on a dress that I was on the fence about. I wanted a small part of it tailored, but wasn't sure if it was even worth it. She told me (nicely) that she could do it, but she thinks even if she tailors it, the dress still would not change a lot. She could have easily said she can do it and just make me pay for it and have it end up looking the same, but she didn't. A lot of times, finding a good tailor, on top of needing someone who is skillful at what they do, it is also very important to find someone who has you in their best interest. I really don't think I can ever find a new tailor as sweet and as awesome as her. read more

Came last month to have a bridesmaid dress altered to shorten the skirt. Unbeknownst to me, it was apparently a complex alter involving three layers of a very full skirt with different fabrics involved. The business owner pinned each layer systematically, confirmed length and had it ready for pickup two weeks later in time for the wedding. Day of pick up, she had me wear it to confirm satisfaction. It turned out great! Hovered over the floor and each layer was even. Love supporting small businesses and Seang Tailors did an excellent job worth the price (cash or check only). I requested to have three scrub tops taken in because they were way too long on me and the owner of this shop was so sweet and helpful and assured me she could get it done by the following week. I wasn't able to pick up on the day I told her I would, and she left me a voicemail updating what days she would be closed for the holidays. I felt that was really sweet and helpful. My alterations were tricky because my dress consisted of working with eyelet fabric, puffy sleeves, and elastic, but they did a wonderful job at a really great price point. My two friends also brought in items, and Seang Tailors finished all three of our alterations in 10 days. I came across Seang Tailors on yelp, and decided to give them a try due to their great reviews... Parking is street only, make sure you pay when you park. Store is very small, and I was welcomed by the store manager. I tried on the pants, and she asked me how i wanted them to fit. She pinned off the pants, and told me they were a bit long as well. I received a beautiful blue suit for my birthday, and needed the pants hemmed so that it didn't look like I was drowning in fabric. I chose Seang Tailors based on the recommendation of other Yelpers who commended the owner for being attentive, friendly, and reasonable, and I'm pleased to report that those recommendations were spot-on. Although I had never visited a tailor, the owner made sure my experience there was as comfortable as possible: she offered feedback on what would be an appropriate hem length; she clearly informed me that it's $10 hem jeans and $14 for other types of pants that require more specialized stitching; and she followed though on my request to have the pants available by the following week. When it came time to pick up the pants, I couldn't have been happier with the results: the pants fit perfectly and the hem looked professional. I'll definitely be back when I have more clothes that need alterations. Please be advised that Seang Tailors is cash or check only. As others have noted, there's one parking spot behind the building (accessible via the alleyway behind Sunnin and Mobil). If that spot is takenl, you'll need to find metered street parking out front, but even if you forget to feed the meter, the owner will make sure you have spare change. read more

Hemmed well; didn't drag on the floor. PRICES: I called the other bridesmaids to compare pricing and they said $90 was fair. I negotiated a bit and she lowered the price down to $90 (she originally quoted me for $120). CASH ONLY. This is the reason why I docked a star. If services are under $20, I get the CASH ONLY concept. But come on, my hemming was $90. That was the going rate for that job. It wasn't like it was so dirt cheap that I had to pay CASH. Making customers pay cash at a certain high amount is an unreasonable request. OVERALL ======== Professional and polite, she called me when the bridesmaid dress was completed.
