This place is a godsend!!! Was here in this town at the campground with the Grandkids while exploring the UP this summer (horrible campground) by the way, read my other reviews!!! I would never go there again. But this place is literally almost across the street from it and this place is only one of two highlights of this whole community, The staff was friendly every day and this store and gift shop is quaint, they had lots of different options, and the grand kids seemed to enjoy all the little things and knick knacks and doo dads they had. I enjoyed the different coffees and the fruit drinks they made, Very neat spot. The VW bus was iconic, I had one like this in the 70's and it brought back some memories. My wife definitely got lots of swag from this place. She was rocking a new shirt or sweatshirt I felt every morning we were here. It was a little pricey, I mean you're not Starbucks! But not terribly bad. The homemade snacks were good, I feel like this place could open multiple locations in the area and be very successful, I went to a coffee place in Muncing. And it took them 2 days to realize they actually had decaf. So The Dream Bean Machine for the win!

This is the absolute cutest little coffee shop I've ever been to. The owner runs it out of a VW van but also has an actual gift shop attached to it! I did not get a coffee since I was about to go on a hike, but everything on the menu looked really good. I would also highly recommend checking out the shop inside, and it's also an online store! The owner also had her dog, Toivo, outside on this sunny day and it is the nicest, sweetest dog ever. Always give bonus points if there's friendly animals around!

Looking for a coffee shop on my recent trip to Grand Marais and stumbled into this gem. Coffee is great with milk alternatives available. Love this place!

OMG the happy monkey smoothie made me so happy. Chocolate, peanut butter and banana with a sprinkling of coffee nibs made a absolutely perfect smoothie! My companion got the mango banana ( left one in the photo) which was good, but not as amazing.

Amazingly nice people. Cute shop and found the perfect Pictured Rocks coffee cup. Nothing like getting coffee out of a VW bus.

So cute! We both got espresso drinks and they were delicious. Sad the cinnamon rolls were sold out, but the coffee was good on its own.

It was really cool to see the history of the place and to see the VW bus that they used to run the shop out of fully.

5/5 -- A Hidden Gem Fueled by Faith and Great Coffee!…read more A few weeks back, I was riding my motorcycle through Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula on a trip from Maryland and stopped overnight in Munising. The next morning, I went searching for some good coffee and came across Rustic Grounds Coffee Trailer. As I looked over the menu, I saw a variety of great options and asked if I could make a small tweak to one of their specialty lattes -- no hesitation, no problem, they made it happen! When I took that first sip... wow. Smooth, balanced, and genuinely one of the best lattes I've had. I've traveled all over the world, and this little coffee trailer easily holds its own among my favorite stops. Top 10? Maybe not, but definitely my top favorite in the UP! (I'm originally from the UP, born and raised in.) While enjoying my drink, I noticed the cup had the outline of Michigan's Upper Peninsula with the words "Fueled by Jesus & Coffee." That made me smile. Then I saw the T-shirts hanging on a wall by the side of the trailer featuring Bible verses and faith-inspired designs -- such a great touch! This place is more than just a coffee stop; it's a reflection of love, faith, and community. If you're ever in Munising and want amazing coffee while supporting a small, family-owned, Christian business -- Rustic Grounds is absolutely the place to go. I'll definitely be back when I ride through the UP again!

We got an Oatmeal Cookie Latte which was so delicious and sweet and cinnamony and my boyfriend got a Backwoods Bootlegger which was surprisingly bourbony. Not my kind of thing but if you're into a less sweet drink I would recommend it, he really liked it! We also each got breakfast pies which were also really yummy and filling. They have Cholula hot sauce at the bar with the sugar and cream if that's your thing (it is mine!). Super cute spot with some nice outdoor seating. Service was kind and fast.

I loved this little coffee shop so much that we visited twice in three days while staying at our…read morefriends' cabin near Manistique. The menu is pretty large, with lots of options for coffee and non-coffee drinkers. The first visit I got a medium iced latte with English toffee syrup. They told me that the medium lattes have two shots of espresso and asked if that was okay - appreciated that check in (and it was definitely okay!). The latte was good, I was hoping for a bit stronger espresso flavor, but it did the trick. Nate got the Yooper latte, which was a s'mores flavored drink that was sweet and delicious. On our next visit, I got an iced coffee with vanilla cold foam, which was so tasty! Nate got a cappuccino that was nicely balanced. The employees we interacted with (younger, students?) were all SUPER polite and friendly. Great customer service! The shop is cute and rustic and they have items for sale like mugs, shirts, stickers, cards, etc. I'll be back!

We love our small town coffee shops and we're hopeful when we stepped into The Grind Coffee House…read more First impressions are important and, unfortunately, this little coffeeshop was less than impressive. It was busy with very little order or space to serve customers well. The 3-person staff were hustling to work the counter and the drive thru but it all looked and felt chaotic on an August Friday around 11:15 am. The casual vibe was overshadowed by a general lack of organization and intention in appearance. For a small space, there was too much clutter. The photos here display the best features: good detail on drinks to order, hardworking staff behind the counter, and a lovely, positive thought. Cleanliness also left something to be desired. Looks like a good deep clean is in order. We ordered two mochas as we have been traveling the UP this past week and stopping in a new local coffeeshop daily in search of the best mocha. We were disappointed by these mochas: warm but not hot, thin and runny, way too sweet. Even the small decaf brewed coffee was meh. Our standards are high and most other small town coffee shops in the UP have exceeded them. The hardworking staff were the best part of this experience and deserve a shout out. The place is busy (little competition in the area) and apparently not well-run.

The coffee was decent, not mind-blowing, but it did the job. The mocha was a nice treat, though! The real highlight of this place was the staff. The baristas were super friendly, making the experience feel warm and welcoming. It's clear they enjoy what they do, and it shows in their service. While the food was solid, I'd say the bathroom could use a little more attention. It wasn't as clean as I'd hoped, but it didn't ruin the vibe of the place. One of the coolest things about Fall Rock Cake is the bookstore aspect. You can browse through a variety of books while enjoying your coffee or meal. It's the perfect spot to unwind, especially if you're a book lover! Overall, great atmosphere, friendly service, and a good place to relax and grab a bite.
