It looks like there was once a food counter in the rear, but if there was it hasn't been in operation for some time. There is a long counter devoted to sporting goods but, again, selection is small. Curiously, there is quite an array of handcrafted walking sticks with animal heads on them. Ducks, deer, that sort of thing. At least it's been cleaned recently. When I was in a few years ago, dust lay heavy on things. All that said, the place has survived for many years, which can't be said of many ventures in Seney.

Bought 134.00 of gas, went in to use the bathroom and buy a couple candy bars. Went to check out…read moreand realized I needed to spend 10.00 to use my credit cards I look in my purse for cash, the attendant asked if I was buying gas... ( as if using the bathroom was going to cost me 7.16, I replied yes my husband was filling up my car. Drove away and thought it was an odd conversation. We headed to the state park to see the falls. BUT the story doesn't end there... on our way back we bought a post card and snacks. Again thought we would use the bathrooms before we left the town the attendant watch me knock on the door repeatedly and said nothing... my husband knocked on the men's room and no answer both doors locked. We left and went across the street to the post office to mail the postcard, came back my husband walked in to use the bathroom thinking who ever was done he confronted the attendant and asked why the doors are locked.. "I just cleaned them" she replied she had locked the bathroom an hour before close and refused to unlock the doors. Totally RUDE, Nasty we spent 150.00 gas and snacks to be refused a bathroom

Think Sam Druker from the General Store in Green Acres, and I kid you not... the theme music from the Beverly Hillbillies was playing in the store! (You young Yelpers... look it up!). I stopped here to get a few gallons because I wasn't sure how far it would be until the next gas station. It literally looks like one of those roadside stands that sells local product, but it had a pump, so I stoped in. The pump said no credit, cash only and you had to pay ahead of time. I went in and said I'll take $10, and handed him a $20. The pumps are old time, so I wasn't used to numbers actually spinning as I pumped. Of course, I went over $10, so I just went for $20. I eventually ended on $20.10. Went back in to tell him I went over the $10, and he said "by how much, we are on the honor system here"! I paid him 10 cents! Before we left, he gave me a Yooper Jigsaw Puzzle" which was a small bag of saw dust. Lol And he gave my wife a small bag that contained a marble (in case you lose your marbles), and candy kiss (to remind you that someone loves you), a penny (so you will never be broke), an eraser (to make your mistakes disappear), a string (to help hold things together) and a rubber band (to stretch yourself to your limits). Listen.... If you are ever are traveling through the north woods of Upper Michigan, you NEED to stop here and check this place out! Nice to see a place like this is still around!

Can also go inside and shop 24/7. Which is rare anymore. Very pleasant experience, even with a car wash debacle involving 2 different receipts and having the 2nd and last reprinted receipt (inside) with the fresh code on it. I called right from the carwash entry and a guy who reminded me of the film store owner on that 70's show came out within seconds. Super cool highly intelligent guy. Very helpful. Very. It was actually our idea to look at the secondly printed receipt and see if it had a different code. Low and behold there we were ready to get the buggy washed. Fun time, required patience and understanding, was a learning experience for everyone involved. Slight diesel fuel smell by one pump most likely where frequent drips occur. Spiders on the gas pump islands. Nothing a couple of quick smashes didn't fix. Followed by a quick washing off of the spider guts. Spiders are to be expected after dark so no biggie. Awesome no touch dual car wash, right side computerized with lights, left side old school key pad, I believe with no multicolor flashing light. Not gonna lie, I thought we were getting pulled over for a second as we went through the right side! Lol. We had two receipts, one from the pump and a second reprint. The only working code was on the last printed receipt for that transaction. We were trying to enter the code from the first receipt from the gas pump. The cool guy also said that sometimes when you rip the receipt off at the pump the code doesn't end up on it because said correct code is at the very end of the paper. I did forget to wash the window with the squeegee to notice if the wash fluid was full/clean etc. Legit station!

While there, I was not the only individual treated poorly and with lack of respect. The art of caring and willingness to help does not come naturally to this individual. Fortunately, I did not have to give this place any business and found the kindness of strangers elsewhere.
