Drain Surgeons installed a new drain field for us back in February and we apparently now have black water leaking from it (visible in the woods where it was installed). We called them and explained to the call taker what was happening and scheduled an appointment for someone to come out and inspect - They never showed... I waited onsite for over 2 hours, called and was told by the call taker that the technician who was supposed to show had called in that day, with no concern to call and let me know. We scheduled another appointment and took time off work again, only for them to come, look at it and leave without even announcing their presence. I called after a couple hours and was told that they already came and looked at it. For several days I heard nothing back, so I called and was told by the call taker that she thought the technician suspected we had increased our water usage - I can assure you that with a small family of 3, our water usage is comparable to what it has been for the past 8 years that we've lived here, not much has changed. We also have no leaky toilets or fixtures. Regardless, they said that they were waiting on the county, but that someone would reach out. (This has been their excuse up until this point). I never heard anything back, so once again I called and was once again assured that someone would call - it is now Wednesday and we still haven't heard back from anyone. With all that said, I'm just trying to get to the bottom of it, as we've been trying to get an answer as to what is going on for a couple weeks now, calling numerous times, with no call backs. Surely they warranty their work, but at this point our brand new drain field is actively leaking black water into our yard and I have no idea what to do about it. I won't even mention how long it took for them to install the system - It's unfortunate, because based on the numerous good reviews, we were hopeful that we were hiring a good, reputable company, but The Drain Surgeon company has proven thus far to be utterly unprofessional, unresponsive and lacking in professional curtesy. Technician tried convincing me that "residual water" was to blame and his leaking repair was normal... I called bullsh*t and made him redo it. No leak this time. I needed a new drain field put in. The first day they came with their machine, they ran into one of my newly grown bushes crushing half of it and ran into my pecan tree tearing down a branch. They cut the power off to the shed in my yard and decided to leave the line that they pulled up just laying there. I called, they sent someone out to re-connect the power. He told me he would send someone out to flatten the dirt more and re-bury the line. 3 weeks later, a guy comes and breaks down yet another branch off my pecan tree. The dirt is still not flatten completely and the line is not re-buried. Now every time mow the grass, I have to watch out for that line. $5,000 to this company and I feel like they did a POOR job. read more

Drain Surgeon in Grovetown GA - Deceptive Pricing and Unprofessional Organization The Drain Surgeon in Grovetown uses very deceptive practices for pricing. I had to wait two days (Saturday called, technician came on Monday) for a technician to repair problem. The problem was that my kitchen sink needed a collar to be replaced. The technician came in and immediately repaired the problem and left. He was on-site literally ten minutes, of which five minutes was writing the bill. Technican was knowledgeable and repaired quickly, so no problem there. Remember he spent five minutes of actual work. The Drain Surgeon charged 226.00 for a five minute job. They only part replaced was the collar. There was no pipe cutting or other work completed. I called the Drain Surgeon and spoke with Ashley who told me the charge is a standard charge for this type of work. She continued on to tell me "time for the work actually done is irrelevent". Drain Surgeon has their set prices for each job. I asked to speak with a supervisor or someone to discuss the charges of 236.00 dollars on multiple occasions. This person she named, Shelby, has not returned my call on multiple occasions after I was told she would. Each time I was told she was out to lunch or on another call. They state they have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee, I guess they do have this policy since they never return calls questioning complaints or problems. I would never recommend the Drain Surgeon for any work. Overall the service was excellent. Backstory, this happened right after all the pipes busted in the CSRA when the cold front hit on Christmas weekend. My pipes clogged, not related to the freezing temps, but nonetheless, I needed help. Drain Surgeon was recommended by a trusted person, so I did. Well the weekend of new year's day they were packed. I called on Friday, and they told me Monday. Turns out, they were technically closed Monday, so I was told that the emergency technician could come out with no after hour fees. I assume this was based on the fact that I was scheduled during a day they were technically closed. The technician showed up, Eric, and he was awesome. Explained to me a lot of what was going on, what he should be experiencing during certain procedures, how the different drains worked, to include the exhaust vents and stuff. I don't really know what prices to expect, so I don't know if it was pricy, or just right. But it didn't break the bank, and they offered military/veteran discounts. Fast, prompt service, and knowledgeable technician. Thought that this was going to cost us an arm and a leg, because a. it was on a Sunday, and b. it was Super Bowl Sunday. Our overflow pipe was clogged and seeping into the sidewalk and street. The smell...yeesh. Ronnie Cooke came out and determined that the city pipe was clogged and it was in turn causing our pipe to clog. He was able to drain both pipes until he determined that the city was going to have to be called. Instead of leaving us to call the city ourselves he did it for us and they were out here in less than an hour. I will give them one star for showing up. Columbia County came out and found I had a water leak. I do have AHS but none of the plumbers had leak protection equipment. A friend recommended the drain surgeon . She had a leak, the found it and fixed it. I guess my prop was that I was only using them to find the leak. They told me that the leak was in the bathroom. I was told 99.9% chance. Guess whst, I was the 1%. The leak wasn't there. I called them back and they sent two technicians. I had him write on the floor where the leak was. Well, it wasn't there. Called them for the third time and the second technician came out. The original technician never showed and I was told then that the leak was under the tub. They dug under and it wasn't there. I called American Leak Dectectors and they found the leak. It wasn't even in my bathroom. It was under the AC unit in the hallway. I have a torn up bathroom. So much for 99.9% accuracy. read more

Drain Surgeon has been there for us on more than one occasion. Professional & knowledgeable. The first was a leak in bathroom sink and to remove burned out garbage disposal in the kitchen. The second visit was a blockage in the sewer line. They took video and showed that the line was clogged with roots and the clay pipes were broken at the seems. They explained the issues and explained the options. They replaced our sewer line and included the water line. Also installed a clean out for easy access in the future. Thank you! I had a problem with a cheap/builder-grade outdoor spigot on my TWO-YEAR OLD home. I tried to repair it myself....FAIL. I called five different plumbing professionals, but Drain Surgeon was the only one willing to come out on a Friday! Their tech came out and did a very thorough inspection (even removed siding). My spigot interior and exterior connections were so poorly constructed, he convinced me to go with a 'yard hydrant' as a better option. He was up front about the cost, and even recommended buying the hydrant myself (Lowes/Home Depot) to possibly save on cost. He returned the next day and finished the job. He did exactly what he said he was going to do, and he did not cut any corners! This was my first time ever needing to call on a professional plumber, so I can't vouch for their prices on all services. However, for all the tracing, problem-solving, and DIGGING/TRENCHING that my issue called for, the cost was very reasonable. I'm going to do some bathroom renovation work in the future, so I'll keep you posted on whether the second job went as well as the first! read more

After staying on hold with two other companies, the receptionist answered the call and scheduled an appointment immediately. The technician came out the next day. He checked my hot water heater, talked to me in detail about my concerns; which by the way were nothing that required repairs. He gave me some recommendations to extend the life of the unit. When I asked how much the diagnostic visit would cost. He stated nothing. I have already decided that if I need any services or repairs completed in the future, I will be calling Drain Surgeons. We called three other plumbers in town to get quotes for replacing our water heater. The first told us that they couldn't do the work. The next two gave us quotes for what it would cost but when we called to have them do the work they never called us back. A friend referred us to The Drain Surgeon. It was pretty late in the evening when we called and a technician was at our house the next morning. Hunter would have done the work that day but we needed to contact our bank first. Once that was done he was back at our house the next day to replace our water heater. Also, they did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves. Had I not been home when they arrived I would not have known that they had been there (except for the fact that I now have hot water). Long story short, had we called The Drain Surgeon first it would have taken two days to replace our water heater instead of two months. read more

Like other reviews have said, the people at The Drain Surgeon are very prompt and for that reason, Ill still give them a star. But everything that happened after was a disappointment. The price was very steep in my opinion. $300 for an hour of work (which was a simple toilet de-clogg). The biggest issue is this: the tech didn't use all of his own supplies for the job. He used our towels to lay the toilet on and to contain the sewage mess that was created from all of the splashing. He also asked me for "an old cup". I didn't know that he would eventually use it to hold all of the material that caused the clog-- sewage covered toilet paper and a piece of plastic. For a price like that, I expect the tech to bring his own floor covering and "old cup". I found it to be pretty bad customer service for a plumber to be asking the customer for supplies that would get covered in sewage... Finally, I was not told about how much cosmetic damage would be done to the toilet. There are deep, dark scratches in the toilet from the tool the tech used. Again, I am dissatisfied with the overall experience. I will not be using this company again to have my plumbing fixed. read more

We came across a leak on a Friday evening and were frantic to find someone to find the cause. What I appreciate about the Drain Surgeon is that they answered the phone and were able to show up to the house within the hour. The young gentleman brought all his tools and tried his best to figure out what was causing the leak. Once we found it he gave me a quote to repair the pipe. I am no pipe repair expert but his quote seemed pretty high and I told him I would contact him in the morning if we decided to have them repair it or find someone else. Long story short the builders plumber was able to come out on the weekend and fix the leak. We were out of warranty so he charged us for the repair. The Drain Surgeons quote was 7 times what we actually paid. That is a huge difference in price. Even though I appreciate their quick response I am shocked at the price they quoted us. Great folks. Called another company first. The owner was supposed to call me back and come look the next day. He did not call or show. Called the DRAIN SURGEON this morning. Set an appt today between 2-4pm. Service tech (Wesley) called me at 1:55 and arrived @ my house @ 2:00. I had a break in my main water line. Right in the center of my yard. I am not the one to give reviews upon receiving bad service but this is a company that I would say stay away from. I had them go out to one of my rental properties in Augusta GA to fix a back flow issue from the toilet. The tech called and offered to snake the the toilet, snake the main line or perform a hydro blast of the entire system. I asked him which one would fix my problem for sure and he stated the hydro blast would fix it for sure. I called the office at this point to get more information from a guy named Gary. Gary stated they would run a camera through the lines as well to make sure that it was fixed. I Paid $345 for this service with no problem expecting it to be fixed as this is the price that was quoted to me for the hydro blast. 2 days later my tenants called me to say the toilets are back flowing again. After calling them multiple times on Saturday and leaving messages for their 24 hr service line, I called a different company that sent me pictures of roots in the drain lines. I paid the new company to remove the roots and to reset a toilet that was supposed to be done by drain Surgeon. After I was able to get Gary back on the phone in an attempt to explain to him that I had to get another company to make the correct repair and request my money back for not completing what needed to be done. I could barely get a word in with Gary as he was in full defense mode instead of listening to my concerns. Gary told me that his tech didn't run the Camera far enough to see the roots and stated the owner only wants to refund half of my money. Gary also told me that he has dealt with my type of people before. The type of people that wants stuff for free. Then Gary said f*** you and hung up in my face. I have worked with my electricians, plumbers, roofers, and framers through my business. I have never had any one perform service incorrectly and then tell me to f*** off and accuse me of wanting something for free. This is sad as Gary is a manager of drain Surgeon and he has the wrong idea about customer service. I have paid twice for something that should have been fixed right the first time. read more

Never ever let them do plumbing in your house! I called them to fix a gas leaking. They sent a plumber named Mark, he came and cut the wall, then gave me a $750 estimate and charge me $375 with nothing done and left. After 3 weeks, Mark returned and said he was unable to fix the problem and asked me to replace the gas line for the house with a ridiculous estimate of $3378 or repipe from the meter to cooktop with another ridiculous estimate of $1750! I declined this price and asked at least 3 other plumbers, they all gave me an estimates around $500 for repiping to the cooktop and $1300 for the house (cooktop+fireplace), see how ridiculously high the estimate from Drain Surgeon is! Because Mark did nothing only cut the wall, I requested a refund of $375 that I paid. The manager of Drain Surgeon said Mark did some work and bought parts which is $175, so he only could return me $125. I trusted him and requested him to mail me the receipt of the part with the refund $125 check, but he didn't mail the receipt to me, and then I checked both in-store and online, that part is worth $50 at most. So, the plumber only came to cut my wall with nothing done, gave me ridiculously high estimates and left, then charged me $250! They just only want more and more money from you, never fix any problem! Definitely avoid Drain Surgeon! read more
