Self-purchased the two toilets at Lowe's and used their installer, thinking this is a simple job, a 3rd party contractor from Lowe's should be able to handle it. Bad idea. The installer from Lowe's was incompetent, and (almost certainly) damaged at least one, if not both flanges. Told Lowe's to go home... Found Cassell here on Yelp. Long story short; from initial call-out to complete resolution, less than 48 hours from start to finish, the plumber they sent out, a cat named Greg R., was exceptionally good. Thoroughly explained everything, showed me exactly what he was doing every step of the way, super-clean, highly professional. Could not possibly have had a better experience (except for the price, but considering they ran circles around Lowe's, it was worth it...) Don't use Lowe's, they're a slow-motion train wreck. I called on a Sunday, Eric responded- that was good. Said he could be here on Monday- he came determined what the problem was. Went to a plumbing supply house, but closed for Labor Day. Ok, so Tuesday he goes back to plumbing supply and finds out he has to order the Valve Stems to be replaced. Ok. They came in Thursday- And are installed- hmmm-need new handles and new stem sleeve. Ok he gets. Everything is put in. Handles are difficult to turn. He does an adjustment. Leaves. Sometime later I use the shower but wait- those new handles are still very difficult to turn on, especially the cold water one. I send text to Eric to please come over to readjust the tension on the two new handles. Well after many texts, no response, than response saying I will be there, but no show. Various days and times selected, never showed up. Has plenty of reasons why not. Answers text in untimely manner. The readjustment process is probably not more than a fifteen minute process. Said he would be here on the 19th, a Thursday. Never showed up. No text as to why. I texted him the next day. No response. I texted him the morning of the 21st, no response. Not waiting anymore. I called a different plumber to get the job done. Sent new text to Eric not to come over. No need to respond. I believe that he may know how to fix a problem but his business model needs to be greatly improved. And that's why the ONE Star Rating now!

They gave us a time frame and called before coming. They also pre-provided the plumbers name who would be servicing our home and just some info about him like what his hobbies were. Great personal touch and we felt like we already knew him. There is a level of comfort there. The plumber quickly diagnosed what he needed to do when we told him what happened. He came in and quickly resolved our problem. A very nice polite young man who enjoyed his craft and is very knowledgeable. Lastly their price is VERY FAIR. Not expensive and that is also a plus. While we hope never to call them again, if we needed to we will call Universal Plumbing. Give them a try!
