Universal Plumbing replaced my sewer line. They provided an outstanding experience from start to finish. They have great customer service, educated me on the process, kept me informed along the way and completed the work in a timely fashion with minimal damage to my yard. I called Universal for a second opinion and my experience with Universal far exceeded my experience with the first plumber. If you want to read the full story, it is below. But, to summarize, I highly recommend Universal. There is no question who I will call for all my plumbing needs. The Full Story I experienced a small sewage backup in a tub so I called a plumber to determine the problem. He indicated his probe could not reach the main so I must have a collapsed sewer line. The solution was to replace the line. Before going through the expense of sewer line replacement, I called Universal Plumbing to get a second opinion. The experience with Universal was very different. Larry came to the house and said he would like to determine the problem first before jumping to replacing the line. This required jetting the line and video scoping the line. I agreed. They were able to clear the clog. The camera showed the pipe was intact but the nearly 100 year old pipe sagged in a few places allowing sediment to collect. Larry explained everything to me throughout the process. I watched as they scoped the line and he explained in detail what he saw. The line was working but would likely clog again at some point because of the sag. In the end, I decided to replace the line after all. But, the decision was made with full knowledge of the problem. Universal's estimate was slightly higher but Larry explained that was the maximum price. I was much more confident with their whole approach to analyzing and solving the problem. They kept me informed and educated me from the start. The customer service was outstanding. The crew arrived on time and completed the work. They took extra effort to minimize the damage to my yard. The crew was friendly, courteous and professional. And, once again explained the process and answered my questions along the way. They put my yard back together and cleaned up leaving only the 6 ft wide dirt path on the lawn above the pipe. Topping off the excellent experience, Larry reduced the bill nearly 20% from the original estimate which ended up lower than the other company's quote. He said they didn't have to do as much work as anticipated. Although he had stated the a maximum number, I was still pleasantly surprised by the lower price in the end. We recently moved to Augusta and needed a gas line installed for our dryer and a food disposal. It was more than $800 for both services, even though the gas heater was right next door to where the line had to be run. The day of the gas line and disposal installation, we had issues with our technician and had to call the office to get him to complete the job. Before he left, he told me the disposal didn't work and I had to get an electrician to come out and run power. The next time we ran the dishwasher, it backed up with water. I called and had them send a different technician out, who insisted it was the placement of our pipes that needed to be changed (another $500+ service) or we had a brand new dishwasher that worked two days before that was defective all of a sudden. Turns out, a friend of ours determined we had a clog in the hose, and once that was cleared, everything was 100% fine. I spoke with the manager named Claudia about our experience, but she has not gotten back to me or offered me any kind of solution for the experience I had after a month. I will not use this company again in the future and recommend anyone reading this review keep looking for a plumber. read more

**Review for Universal Plumbing** I recently had the misfortune of hiring Universal Plumbing, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I had a simple plumbing issue, and they quoted me almost double what other local companies were charging, and their service was subpar at best! I naively thought their high prices might justify exceptional service, but boy, was I wrong. Not only did they fail to fix the issue properly, but I ended up having to call another plumber to finish what they started--resulting in yet another cost to me! Their customer service was equally disappointing; my concerns were met with indifference. It felt like they were just trying to brush me off rather than take responsibility for their shoddy work. I strongly recommend avoiding this company. They may promise the universe, but all you'll get is a black hole in your wallet and a plumbing problem that remains unresolved. This past Monday, October 25, my heating and air tech advised me to order a new water heater because he could not get ours to work. I ordered one from Universal Plumbing and they brought it the next day. The technician decided to check the water heater first and almost immediately said there was nothing wrong with it and he didn't want to have me pay $1,500 for a new one when it wasn't necessary. He stayed for about 30 minutes testing the heater to make sure it worked correctly and then informed me again I did not need a new one, the old one was working fine. I was very happy to hear this and extremely grateful for his honesty. They could have installed it and made a profit and I would not have known the difference. I have used Universal many times and been totally satisfied but their honesty on this particular visit totally impressed me. read more

Slab Leak!!! We recently retired from the military and relocated to Augusta Georgia and we've found a plumbing company for life. Universal Plumbing was Outstanding! I'm just impressed. From the Customer service representative to the Plumbing engineers. They were awesome! I mean they arrive on time! They respected my home! Their uniforms were clean. The pricing scale was great unlike other companies in the area. They put up plastic to protect my home appliances and fixtures! They repaired the Slab leak without causing any damage to the surrounding areas ie the cabinets , granite countertops! We only replace one 20x20 tile. They were awesome. My first experience with Universal Plumbing. Next time we require plumbing service I will call them. David, the technician, did an outstanding job. He arrived on time, explained the needed repairs, and completed the job. He was courteous and professional, taking care to make sure the work area was cleaned up before he left. The invoice included the service fee and parts cost, more than I would have liked but I cannot complain given experience with other companies. The overall system, notification and messaging worked well to include a photograph of the technician - a plus in today's environment.
