Since they are new they're running cash-only, so make sure you have some! The staff is really polite and went above and beyond to make me feel appreciated. I chose the pulled jackfruit sandwich which came with Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce which was tasty! I subbed the vegan mayo for the scotch bonnet mayo because I wanted to add some heat. That was such a good call because that mayo is amazing. The employee made sure to check with me to make sure I knew it was spicy and then told me that all of their sauces are made in-house. As a major condiment fan, I love that and they even gave me a side of the Hennessy mustard on the side to try. It's good and the Hennessy really hits you upfront but doesn't linger in the aftertaste which was nice. They have a ton of options for both vegans and omnivores alike so I'd certainly recommend stopping by and trying out their menu. The staff said that of all the restaurants in the plaza they had the most vegan options which is cool! There are pre-assembled choices as well as ones that are customizable. Extra toppings are only $0.25 each, so you can make anything your own. I'll definitely come back!

Saying that, one friend is presently getting a friendly cold shoulder as he failed to bring me to this gem which is a few minutes away from where he resides. I think I've been once years ago; however, detoured here on my mini-weekend adventure. They have an extensive hot and cold menu and everything looks delicious. We ordered cross Trax (or waffle fries poutine), it did have a hint of spice that made eating it uncomfortable but after recovering from the spice, wanting to go back for more. Similarity, we ordered two dipped ice cream cones. Mine was orange creamsicle and it tasted like an orange creamsicle, wouldn't necessarily buy it again but glad I tried it. My cousin got the butterscotch and it looked delicious as well. I think the ice cream was definitely the best part. It was a comfortable environment. Service was quick and friendly. Price point was reasonable for the quality of food. Although Stratford-ites disagree with me and think it's on the higher side. Highly recommend this place for an old School drive in.

They are mostly open weekday afternoons (weather permitting) and in my humble opinion offer some of the best street meat in the city! The guy running it is Canadian politeness personified - all manners and friendliness. They also offer pop, chips and freezies - all at a reasonable price. While I normally have the hot dog - today I enjoyed the jalapeno sausage - and while it's only available for a limited time I can assure you it was endlessly delicious. With a pop and small bag of chips it came to a whopping $6.50 - which is a pretty hard deal to beat. *PRO-TIP* After countless trips I only just learned today that they do offer mayonnaise, but you have to ask for it as they keep it in the fridge.* it can get busy on nice days but that's really just a testament to how good the food is and that the prices are right. If you're looking for a quick meal enjoyed al fresco you could do far worse. Top Dogs is about an apt a description as you're going to get!

What can I say about L.A. FRANKS?…read more It's a quirky little spot on Water Street North. Their menu signs are playful and bright. They've got terrific staff. They serve burgers, fries, shakes, hot dogs, poutine, onion rings, chicken and ice cream. It's home of the Holey Burger and fresh cut French fries. And they carry all the fixings you want on your hot dogs. Since 1993 they've been at it running this joint for 30 years which has become a Cambridge fixture. You cannot miss the bright yellow awning and colourful signs as you pass by this bright landmark. They're open rain or shine. From 11:30-8 daily. They sell sodas along with an ice cold drinks like their Strawberry Lemonade. It's pink and fruity, sweet and sour. Honestly they have the best chili cheese fries. Topped with zig zags of ooey gooey orange coloured cheese sauce that makes it oh so good. Also ate a KRAUT DOG - which comes topped with sauerkraut and bacon. You know the saying that there's always room for ice cream? They serve Shaw's Ice Cream made from 100% Canadian Dairy Cream in Southwestern Ontario. Carl Shaw founded Shaw's Ice Cream in St. Thomas, Ontario in 1948 but Tillsonburg is home to their new ice cream production facility. L.A. FRANKS serves up ice cream in cones, and they also make thick 20 oz Malted Milk Shakes, plus good old fashioned Ice Cream Floats. There was an era when I only ever selected Bubble Gum flavour everything, including ice cream cones. Fun fact that the place was named after the owners kids named Lisa and Adam hence L.A. Franks.
