Dog Bar was a godsend for my little old lady's teeth! My 13 year old chihuahua has had awful breath for the last year and a half, but the vets did not recommend a dental procedure because they worried about the anesthesia's effect on her. I tried everything from brushing her teeth myself, teeth cleaning bones, teeth cleaning toys, special toorhpaste, etc. to no avail. Finally, I learned of the Dog Bar's teeth cleaning procedure where they use calming techniques to be able to conduct thenprocedure with 0 anesthesia! My dog is always nervous when I leave her anywhere with other dogs (groomers, vet, etc.), and I am happy to report she did not come out more nervous than she entered (a big win in our book ). Went to buy some sunblock for our 4 month old puppy. The store is very pretty and they have a great selection of items. Due to Covid the store is closing at 7pm. I arrived at 6:50 and purchased my item and walked out of the store. While walking, I noticed my puppy had a cut and turned back to purchase some antiseptic to clean the cut. I arrived at 7:03pm and the employee was still there. He turned away and wouldn't come to the door, which is understandable since they're closed. What followed was disappointing. I called and the employee picked up and said "yeah". I said "Hi. I just purchased sunblock for my dog. I know you're closed but my puppy has a cut and I need some antibiotic. Is there any way I could please purchase? I can even give you my credit card number and you charge me tomorrow. I just feel bad he has a cut and needs antiseptic". The employees response was "No. It's 7pm and we are closed. They cut hours because of Covid so I can no longer help you cuz I'm not getting paid." I was so disappointed at this employees lack of empathy for a puppy, while working at a dog specialty store. Today my wife bring our dog Gennarino (a 7 pounds Toy poodle) to this place. I have to be honest, I like how they do the grooming, after trying different places in our opinion this one is the second best we tried but it's better than any other close to our apartment. That's why in the last 5 months we took him there twice. So far so good. The problem happened when today at 4pm I went to pick up Gennarino. The owner presented me a bill of $460, $75 for the grooming and another $65 for every extra hour of work of the groomer that he told me were 4hours. Consider that the 2 previous times I paid respectively 115$ and 160$ that was little bit higher than the Miami Beach average but was still ok since I was happy with the result. Today the price was almost 3 times more. When I asked an explanation, he started told me that was normal because the dematting fee is 65$x hour and they worked on my dog 4 hour (a 10# toy puddle). - Firsr of all 65$ x 4 hours= 260$ + 75$ = 335$ so from there to 460$ he still have to explain me for what is charging me - 2nd : if you are honest and you don't want take advantage of people, before you start working in a dog that you know will take 4 hours or more of work, you take the phone, call the client and explain the situation so the owner of the dog can chose if can afford it, or he prefer to shave or do a super short cut or even bring the dog to another place. - 3rd: the justification of the owner was that: they told us twice that the hairs of the dog were in a really bad status (you can see Gennarino from the picture, obviously from there you can't see the knots I know, but so you can that the hair at not super long), the first time a lady told my wife this morning that the dog had different knots and it will took time (same thing they said the second time that we paid 160$). The second time at 1pm I called the shop and I spoke directly to the owner that he told me the dog wasn't ready because was in a bad Condition so they take off a couple of knots, let the dog have a break and than come back working on him. SO NOT ONLY For one second he let me think that bad conditions for them means: 460$ of work, why he didn't tell him right the way? -4th: at the end he told me he gave me a discount from 460$ to 400$ and then I see that the bill say 5 hours of dematting fee, when he told me for 1 hours they worked 4 hours of the dog. This is so unfair. I will never come back to this place, they cover the fact that are literally stealing money from you behind sentence like: I told you know the condition was bad/ you knew was a long work/ you should no. BULLSHIT...you should TELL ME BEFORE STREIGHT AND CLEAR if you think to charge people 400$ for a grooming. read more

I had brought my dogs in for a teeth cleaning this past Friday. It is now Wednesday and I noticed fleas on both of my dogs. I am unaware of how they got them but when I called the store to see if they saw any fleas on my dogs they said yes and failed to notify me. I have a very important business trip that I had to cancel because my dog sitter will not take my flea infested dogs. The poor communication has cost over $20,000. That being said I will not be returning. UPDATE The owner just called me and told me that if they see fleas the dogs they will not notify the owners. He proceeded to push onto me that it is not their fault for not notifying me if I sent them to be groomed. This is completely unacceptable and will definitely not be coming back. read more

I called this place this afternoon regarding a cute dog bed that I saw in the window to see the pricing. I'm a local and I know this place overcharges like crazy. The girl told me the dog bed is $50, and I said "do you know that the bed is $33 on Amazon, Chewy, and the brand's website?" She condescendingly said "do you know that I just work here and don't price items". Good customer service is always such a challenge in Miami Beach. Always a struggle with this place. read more

Beware! SLIMY business practices. We have been going to Dog Bar for about a year now since we moved to the area from NY. It is conveniently located, and we prefer to work with local businesses whenever possible. We have even chosen to have them order the dog food for our dog at a premium, which they don't carry in 22lb bags, to give them the business instead of ordering from Amazon. Every now and then, we have had issues with random price changes on grooming services ($10-30) that are communicated at pickup, even after confirming the price before booking the appointment and at the time of drop off. We attributed this behavior to bad management and typically referencing our purchase history would solve the problem. However, today, the owner and staff lost their marbles. Historically we have paid $120 for a full grooming, and today, upon pickup, we were told with no explanation whatsoever that the new price was $200 for the same exact service we have been purchasing ~monthly for over 12 months. The employee response after trying to make up reasons for the cost increase was "that's what the groomer said so, so that's it". In the middle of the 'argument' he picks up the phone and proceeds to have a 15-minute discussion with a customer on all the available sizes and colors of a leather leash - completely disrespectful of the situation and of my time as a visibly unhappy customer. I eventually got tired of waiting for him to list all the available leash colors and signaled to him to charge me for the $200 (no tip this time, we usually tip 20%+) and screamed on my way out that he should let the owner know that they lost a customer! A few minutes later we get a call from the owner, who starts the conversation with a lengthy monologue which ends with him accusing us of not paying for the service and storming out of his store (he was not there obviously). After me losing my $hit and making it clear that we did pay for the service, he apologized and told us that his groomers are contractors, that our dog took 2+hrs of grooming by the groomer, and that for him to make a living he takes the grooming price and doubles it and that our dog is the largest dog in the world ... blah blah blah - mind you in NY we pay $160 for a boutique grooming place in the heart of Chelsea. Unbeknownst to him, his groomer was 2 hours late to work and was not there when we dropped off our dog, naturally the groomer called us when he placed our dog on the table for grooming to request clarifications and then proceeded to call us 37 minutes later for pick up - as a result, my dog has patches of fur all over his paws and belly. To boot, the owner (Steve/Stephen) decides that a $25 credit towards future purchases was the appropriate remediation after the bad customer service, slimy busines practices and false accusations. I have a Boston Terrier that loves this place and he's had a bad experience before at another groomer. So he is frightened of groomers but they make him feel Very comfortable. Took my puppy in for a first time grooming. They were accommodating in the way that I could get in quickly but upon arrival I was told my 20lb puppy would be $120, opposed to the $95 that it states for medium size dogs on their website (even her being on the low end of medium size). It does say "$95 and up" on the site BUT then they continued to let me know that they wouldn't be cutting the body fur because it was her first time and she needed to get used to the process. $120 for half the services, plus they make you pay before you even see the dog. Over all she looks fine - clean face, ears and feet but certainly not worth $120 for basically a bath I could have given her myself. read more

I wanted to see them & test them out to see if my little guy would like it. We ended up buying a great DOG bag that looks like a great big purse with plenty of compartments for treats, his leash & even my phone & lip gloss. It's a great bag. I love it & so does my pup. The shop looks great. Very clean & organized. Well lit with plenty of wonderful, high end items in stock. They also carry Orijen, which many dog stores don't carry & I usually have to buy it online. I appreciated how I was greeted upon entering & then left alone to browse without feeling hounded. All the folks in the store were super nice & dog loving. The prices are comparable to other high end dog places; I was previously purchasing raw dog food from Completely Canine that recently closed. So happy to know that I have a place to buy specialty dog food and Anesthesia-Free Dental Cleaning for $150; I was paying $300 per dog to have someone come to my home.
