I can write about this speakeasy....how its decorated to perfection, hidden in the belly of the Venetian, how its dark, cozy and sexy. I could tell you that throwback is not even the right word....but classy vibe is. I can also tell you that every friend made fun of me for wanting to see this show. There are many shows in Vegas...all kinds for all types of tastes. This show has something...probably more than a lot of shows....its called unbelievable, indescribable, contagious FUn. The music is great because the band is greater. The main singer and his beautiful wife aren't just talented singers...they provide the fun and QUALITY OF MUSIC. This could be a tribute band to the 70s and 80s....sure. But that underscores and undesells them. These guys...this band of musicians are so cool and in sync....they vibe and gel memories with an excellent fun time. From the opening video of TV show themes to the last closing number...like it or not you will not only sing along...you might even dance. The room danced. They are super talented...from backup vocals to harmonies. They are lovers of this era...and you will know every song. Bang for your buck....this could be the BEST $75 you spend in Vegas. Its not a throwback...they are genuine innovators of feel-good. Its a time warp of excellence...excellent sound, excellent production and sound. This band is top notch, especially because after the show they hang in the crowd for pictures and stories. The setlist is brilliant. The experience is worth every second and every penny. We went to the 1923 prohibition lounge at the grand Canal shops at the Venetian Hotel to see the Docksiders after reading some positive reviews about the evening. I can honestly say it was easily five stars or better. The group was talented personable and up close. Every song they sang you knew if you were in your forties to 70-year-old category and I would highly recommend it as one of your entertainment venues while you're in Vegas. . read more

As a Vegas local, I've seen more than 65 Vegas shows and countless concerts, and tonight The Docksiders at the Rio was one of the most fun shows I've been to. If you like 70's & 80's artists such as Kenny Loggins, Olivia Newton John or Lionel Richie, you're going to enjoy the covers by 3x Grammy-nominated Kevin Sucher and the rest of The Docksiders. As Low as $5 beers, $8 wine and $12 fancy drinks! The wait staff was outstanding too, they even wore boat or officer type attire which made it a great experience! All eight artists were amazingly and talented but I loved watching the drummer as he was authentic, talented and truly enjoyed playing the drums as he was always smiling!. On Dec. 6 2024 my husband and I saw the BEST SHOW ever. Even after visiting Vegas for the past 10 years. I am referring to the Venetians Yacht Rock show featuring the Docksiders. Kevin the lead singer is quite outgoing and hospitable. He meandered cheerfully among the guests and carried on meaningful conversations. He stopped by our table and got to talk about appreciating our military troops. The Docksiders had just returned earlier that morning from entertaining the troops based on the USS Lexington in Texas. During the show, Kevin publicly voiced appreciation for our military men and women and this resulted in a standing ovation. Erin his wife, contributed to the shows success with her talented beautiful voice. Cecil Loggins was very entertaining and great mingler. The rest of the group showcased their talents throughout - much to the appreciation of the audience. This is a show no one should miss. read more

Wow! Such a great show in a very intimate setting of the 1923 Probibition Bar at the Venetian. The band was so freaking good singing all the songs from the 70's that you love. Everyone was dancing all around or in their chairs. The smiles in everyone's faces when they sang songs that bring you back lingered well after the show. Very professional and personable band that comes out and met folks after the show. You can also stay in the Prohibition Bar after the show. They had a live singer playing the piano who was very good. He started a few minutes after the Docksiders were done. All around one of the best nights in Vegas. If you're considering the VIP experience - do it. We had a blast in the minus 5 bar just before the show and our high top table and chairs up front were great. They just landed in this venue June 2024. The videos and pictures before then are not acurate for their new location. But the songs and band are exactly as described by everyone - simply wonderful! read more

Awesome new show located at The Duomo inside the Rio Hotel & Casino featuring yacht rock, which is basically soft rock from the 70s and 80s. Despite this genre being one that I wasn't too familiar with, we still had a great time! The performers are all such talented musicians and singers! Such a fun time. Went midweek and despite rushing from work to make it to a 6pm show, we immediately relaxed. Great music, entertaining singers, and the band was on point, especially the saxophonist. We would definitely go again. Wishing these folks continued success. Bonus: What appeared to be the child of two of the bandmates made a surprise appearance on stage and danced his way through the aisles giving us even more to smile about. I'm very confused about the ratings on this band. My husband and I just saw them during the Reds concert series. We were excited to see the band and Friday night fireworks. We were highly disappointed. During the first two songs, we could barely hear the vocalists because the instrumentals were so loud. Then, all three vocalists were totally off-pitch during at least a portion of their feature songs. We decided they were more interested in overacting throughout than great vocals. We left after the 7th song as the microphone feedback became so annoying. Congratulations to the lead guitarist and sax player who were the stars of the show. Overall, we felt like they were an okay 70's - 80's hotel band. read more

We attended their last night at the Rio (Duomo room). It was excellent. This group as some very talented singers and band members. The guitarists Kenny Loggins number was a standout, as was the female singer doing ABBA, and pretty much anything the sax player did. Yacht rock heroes The Docksiders are the new talk of the town, performing at Duomo in the Rio Hotel and Casino. They delivered perfect renditions of all the yacht rock classics from the late 70s/early 80s in an intimate show. The crowd was fully engaged as they flowed through hit after hit of the era's classics. Here's the key selections chosen by our trio the night we saw The Docksiders. They hit the ground running with Cristopher Cross' hit "Ride Like The Wind", delivering full four-part harmonies throughout. They brought down the house with an ABBA medley highlighted by everyone joining in to "Dancing Queen". There was a picture perfect rendition of Kenny Loggins' classic "This Is It", where the guitarist newcomer to the band literally looked and sounded like the man in action. The highlight for me was an epic rendition of Toto's "Africa" as they engaged the crowd to sing-along with the chorus. The closed out the show with a rousing rendition of Lionel Richie's "All Night Long" which literally brought the crowd to its feet singing and dancing. Throw in yacht rock standards from other key artists of the era, including Ambrosia, Michael McDonald, Rupert Holmes, Olivia Newton John, and Andy Gibb, and you have an amazing event for anyone who yearns for music of that time. Saw the show and I'm still singing back the set in my head two hours later. Will absolutely see them again at the Rio during their residency! Thanks for the great night of entertainment! read more

Greatest hits from the 70s & 80s including The Doobie Bros, Kenny Loggins, Grease, Dirty Dancing, Toto, Gerry Rafferty, Pina Colada, on & on. I was invited by friends to watch a band called Docksiders at Rio Hotel. Never heard of the group but half-heartedly, I went anyway. To my surprise, they were fantastic! They were singing my songs from the 70s and 80s... Lionel Richie, Kenny Loggins, Olivia Newton-John, Toto, Bee Gees, ABBA and a few more. They sounded just like the original. Saw them last night and they were terrific. All of my faves from the 70's and 80's soft rock hits that our generation grew up with and loved. A Family Affair! Kevin, Erin, and their son did an PHENOMENAL Job in all aspects of the show. Their voices were fantastic as they rolled thru late 70's and early 80's CLASSICS! I heard about this show on a podcast and jumped on the opportunity to see it. The vocals, musicanship, performance and atmosphere surrounding the show truly hit the mark of excellence. In my yearly (sometimes more than once a year) trips to vegas I do my research to try and find shows tht are reasonably priced and give the best bang for the buck. This is one of those shows. All the songs and harmonies were tight and well rehearsed. There's a nice mix of yacht rock classics with much trading off of female and male vocals on the songs. But most notable are the personalities of the husband/wife lead singers. Yes, there's the expected schtick of some ribbing and joking back and forth between the two of them on their life together, but that's just one of the many great pieces of the show's charm. For certain, your'e guaranteed to walk out the show with a smile. I will be back. read more
