Big Elvis has become one of my favorite things to do when in Vegas. It's too good to be true. For the mere price of a drink from the bar, you can hear this very talented gentleman sing Elvis songs. Pete Vallee is used to the crowd as he sings some of Mr. Presley's greatest hits from his throne. And he absolutely is adorned in a full white HunkaHunkaBurningLove-esque suit. I was chair dancing and singing along, had a fun time with my mocktail. Yep, they were able to make a drinks without liquor. He plays about 30-45 minutes on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 2pm, 330pm and 5pm at the Harrah's Casino. It's actually great timing to see his short show between meals. What a fun way to celebrate the 4th, with "Big Elvis"! Did you know "Big Elvis" is the first live show to return to the Las Vegas Strip since all the COVID-19 closures? 5-Stars to Pete Vallee, who has been recognized as one of the top 10 Elvis impersonators in the USA. He's been doing "Big Elvis" for years in Vegas and I can see why. If you close your eyes while he's singing, you'll swear that Elvis was in da House. That impersonation of Elvis' unique singing voice is amazing! He performs seated on a "throne", so don't expect classic non-stop Elvis hip-throbbing moves. During the 40 minute set, there's also fun trivia facts and photos of Elvis on a screen. The Piano Bar at Harrah's is always a fun place to hang. Live music, drinks, and jammed pack crowds are​ what this place is all about. Uh, wait...scratch the jammed pack crowds now since their COVID-reopening. Tables are definitely spaced far apart, as are the performers from the audience. You can also sit outside, but you won't feel as much a part of the scene. I knew Big Elvis when he was very young. He was kind, gentle, very polite and always had his guitar wherever he went. My mama and little children would enjoy every second of his visits to our home as he would play and sing for us and it was always the highlight of our day! We didn't live in Las Vegas a long time, but after he crossed paths with us, we never stopped talking about him and his beautiful voice, and he remained in our thoughts and prayers all of these years, 44 to be exact. We were excited to see he had become famous (which didn't surprise us in the least as he is an amazing entertainer) and we hope to one day go to see one of his shows. read more

Our most recent visit started with Suspicious Minds (the greatest Elvis song IMO), moved on to Unchained Melody and then blew up with Devil in Disguise - complete with an elderly man dancing along in light up devil horns. You will be impressed with his much he sounds like the real Elvis! Voice is similar, the moves are not! I have had a relationship with The Big Elvis Show for eleven years. It has been a unique relationship. I drink a beer or coffee and Big Elvis sings Elvis Presley songs. Actually whether it be in Bill's Gambling Hall or now Harrah's Piano Bar, Big Elvis has been performing to a sold out room. What makes Big Elvis a great performer is that it seems that he is singing directly to each person in the room. That is a sign of charisma. Big Elvis ought to be called Big Charisma. There are countless Elvis Presley imitators. What makes Big Elvis stand out from the Elvis Presley imitators is his remarkable voice. Before the show starts and between sets, they will play a Big Elvis album. In all honesty I have not been able to tell the difference between the voice of The King of Rock & Roll and the self-named King of the Strip. The three sets from 2 to 7 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday showcase his voice. All eyes and ears are drawn on this giant of a man seated on a king chair singing Elvis Presley songs backed up by music from a karaoke machine. I have never grew tired of his voice. The songs he sings range from fast numbers that include "Viva Las Vegas," Burning Love,"and "Little Sister" to ballads that include "My Way" and "Always on My Mind." My favorite Big Elvis moment is when he sings "American Trilogy," which is a very patriotic song that he dedicates to the troops. In the years that I have seen the Big Elvis Show, my opinion of the show has ranged from three to five stars. A back story to the show has been Big Elvis' s major weight loss. He went from weighing in the ball park of 950 pounds to approximately 450 pounds. That is 500 pounds lost. In a way a back story of the Big Elvis show is that determination pays. The best Big Elvis shows were a couple of years ago in 2009, after he lost all that weight. In 2013 there have been changes that keep the show from a five star rating. The Sun Studios Dueling Guitar set is gone. Chuck Rawlins, a Conway Twitty impersonator with a five star voice, who was a part of the act has left the show. The Big Elvis Show has moved from the party time atmosphere of Bill's Gambling Hall to the corporate atmosphere of Harrah's Piano Bar. Where Bill's Gambling Hall served pitchers of beer for $7, Harrah's sells small bottles of beer for $7 (next store small bottles of beer are $1 at Casino Royale). In Bill's Gambling Hall it seemed that the King of the Strip was the King of Bill's Gambling Hall. The sounds of the Big Elvis Show dominated the open spaces of Bill's Gambling Hall. When Big Elvis performed a people at the slot machines and bar celebrated with Big Elvis. However in Harrah's Piano Bar, the room is cramped and the pianos in the center cause visibility issues. The Big Elvis Show is more than listening to Elvis Presley and classics by other artists. The Big Elvis Show has a couple of audience participation segments. One is where a man in the audience will dress up in an Elvis wig and play a balloon guitar while five women from the audience join him in dancing. Usually Big Elvis is performing "Burning Love" or "Viva Las Vegas." People will find it entertaining or corny. I find it the later, and never once participated. I recommend seeing the Big Elvis Show. Admission is a $7 beer. Not expensive for a show! Big Elvis sings the songs made famous by a man that he admires. It shows! Elvis Presley's real life best friend Sonny West was the best man at Big Elvis' s public wedding in Bill's Gambling Hall. Big Elvis wears Elvis Presley's TCB (Taking Care of Business) ring. Through his admiration, Big Elvis introduces songs with interesting Elvis Presley facts and follows a few similar traditions of an Elvis Presley concert. Big Elvis might give a scarf to a person in the audience. And he could end the last set with "Can't Help Falling in Love With You." My relationship with the Big Elvis Show appears to be strong. I had a chance to check out the show again when I had family in town. Since my last review they have moved the show over to Harrahs a couple of casinos north of Bills. As for Big Elvis/Pete himself, he is still a 5 star "home run out of the park". He takes requests from the audience, has a bit that includes audience participation, and he covers such a wide variety of Elvis' catalog. I knocked the stars off because of Harrahs and the new venue they moved the show to. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the seating here is much more limited than it was with the set up over at Bill's. Also, they require you purchase at least one of their price gouging drinks in order to check it out. You had to see that coming. Something cool and free on the strip can't last for too long, if they can help it. I mean, when I saw the show at Bill's we bought some good cheap drafts at the bar, but here I think the cheapest beer was $7.00! The news came out earlier today that they are closing Bills for a year for a renovation/facelift/name change. Kinda sucks, IMO.. So, for the required over priced drinks and change to a crappy venue, I had to knock off a couple of stars. Big Elvis is still awesome though! read more

This is a fantastic show. I have been watching it for years and love watching Pete (Big Elvis). His voice is magnificent. I preferred the old location, Bills, over this one. What can I say, I'm a sucker for Big Elvis (Pete Vallee). I initially went many years ago for the novelty of seeing, at that time, a 600 lb. Elvis Impersonator. BE is so much more...engaging, funny, self deprecating, a genuine nice guy in a city of artificial personalities. And that voice...I think he's the best vocalist of any of the Elvis singers in LV. I once went to his show at Bill's, and there were 4 (I kid you not) other Elvis impersonators who work in LV sitting at the bar and watching him perform his magic. (all in costume!) I talked to all of them, and each one told me that BE has the purest Elvis voice in Vegas. It was surreal, but way fun. Don't go expecting him to get up and shimmy and shake like Elvis. There's a little of that, but his weight limits what he can do. Go to have a great time. Sing along, laugh, participate in the contests. And have a cocktail or two, even at $7 - 8 bucks a pop. After all, the show's free...and It's Harrah's... not the Wynn. You'll have a ball! And get a picture with him after the show! And buy a beer cozy with his picture on it. It works great as you wander around the strip and is a great conversation starter. Have FUN! BTW - he does 3 45 minute shows each day he appears. Each is different. Big Elvis makes my mom laugh and smile uncontrollably, so he easily earns big stars. I first discovered Big Elvis when I was searching for ways to entertain my Southern mom. His show was the very first thing I took her to see when she came to visit me in Las Vegas, and he left a big impression on her. She talks about him all the time. Before seeing the show, I did not know what to expect. We arrived at Bill's right at 3pm, and the place was absolutely slammed. As we waded through the crowd, we could hear the music but could not see anyone on stage. We assumed the show had not started, but when we finally got close enough we realized that Big Elvis was actually seated in a rather large throne. The literal nature of "BIG" Elvis had been lost on me until the moment I actually saw him and realized he is indeed a big man, so big that he spent most of the show seated. He jumped up for dramatic effect at all the right times. The light show made me giggle because despite the fact that Big Elvis was rather stationary, the light guy seemed to have a hard time keeping up. Most everyone, including my mom, seemed impressed by his voice. I was personally enchanted by the Conway look-alike hanging out "backstage" mysteriously playing tambourine. Part of the show involves the crowd, a wig and a blow-up guitar. If you are someone who has low tolerance for intoxicated people acting goofy in publicly-sanctioned situations, you will probably not enjoy this at all. However, Big Elvis is the perfect combination of talent and kooky Las Vegas experience to keep me and my mom returning. Plus, from all I have heard, he is an amazing, kind man. I am docking one star because the last two times I have tried to go and see him with my mom he has not been there! The last time the tambourine-wielding Conway look-alike was performing while Big Elvis was on vacation; he is actually the resident Conway Twitty impersonator. Of course! Advice: If you want to sit, arrive at least 15 minutes early. There is a two drink minimum for the seats, but the cocktail waitress may or may not make it around in time. read more

Turns out, the best place to enjoy Big Elvis' performance is from the sidewalk. We had often heard Big Elvis' singing from the street when passing by and were looking forward to enjoying his show during our upcoming visit to Las Vegas. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations. The cocktail waitress who served us seemed only interested in taking our order for 2 drinks we were required to purchase for the show. She never came back to our table to check-in. Big Elvis' apparent "bouncer" was unfriendly and made it his mission to ruin our experience. From making a production out of checking the IDs of everyone (including geriatric patrons whose tattoos could be carbon dated back to late '60s), to policing the use of face masks with discriminatory harassment, this older gentleman truly made my party feel uncomfortable. There was a brief moment in which we had a pleasant interaction with a staff member; however, that positive correspondence devolved into an unpleasant one when the staff member (older male) made a misogynistic comment directed at me (a younger female). Obviously, this was inappropriate and unsettling. Big Elvis' performance was very straight forward, and what you see is what you get. In short, Big Elvis & his sound tech/opening act = 5 stars! Literally everybody else = 0 stars :( Big Elvis - Please keep doing your thing. Your show is awesome and you and your sound tech create an amazing performance. Awesome entertainer! Two years ago, when we visited Las Vegas for our honeymoon, we were a bit disappointed that they were renovating and Big Elvis wasn't playing (I believe this was when he was at Harrah's). During this past trip to celebrate my husband's birthday, I was again sad to learn that he wasn't performing again. If you're a huge Elvis fan, this is one stop that I recommend to place on your list of to-do's in Vegas. Let me start with the voice. As a huge Elvis fan in my own right, an Elvis impersonator, and own a collection of Elvis paraphernalia, I say in my honest opinion, this guy is better than most Elvis impersonators in Vegas. Having been born in the 80's, I couldn't get to see the King of Rock and Roll in person. However, after my wife say that this guy has solid reviews, I had to see for myself. I closed my eyes as he was singing and I felt like I was listening to one of the many Elvis concerts I have on DVD. There were segments in his act where he called up audience members to perform and the audience would pick the winner. I went up three times, and won all three!! Another great aspect of the show is where he would ask for requests. I actually met him in the back and requested, Heart of Rome. For those of you who are not familiar with Elvis' songs, this song is very hard to sing; unless you have the range to do it from Baritone during the verses and going up an octave higher with each chorus! He did it; quite well although his voice did break with the last chorus, but I couldn't blame him. That song is hard! If you consider yourself to be an Elvis fan, this is an essential stop in Vegas. Forget about the big aspect of his show, he is a super friendly and approachable guy that sings the songs spot-on and makes it really fun for everyone there. Is he the best Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas? Who knows. He is by far the funnest and most genuine act I have seen to date. I would gladly pay to see this act but its actually free. At the time of writing this, he was performing at the piano bar at Harrah's on Mondays, Wednesday's, and Friday's at 230, 330, and 530. Do yourself a favor, see this show. His voice is amazing, not only did he sing Elvis songs but he also sang Lois Armstrong. The meh isn't a knock on Big Elvis, but, rather, a knock on the venue. Buffalo Bill's Gamblin Hall didn't have the decency to inform anyone that a stand in was performing when we went. The stand in was OK, but was pretty disappointing to sit through what seemed to us to be a warm up act only to realize after about four songs that the act we came to see would not be performing. It's a small room, and we didn't want to be rude, so we sat through the entire hour show. Tip: Before you sit down, confirm that Big Elvis is actually performing. read more

I love me some Elvis. In fact I'm a member of two of the Elvis fan clubs in town. Okay maybe I just shared too much. Anywho, I was reminded by last weekends' article in the newspaper about Big Elvis so I had to revisit. Big Elvis is pure entertainment. I've seen many impersonators in my time (again sharing too much) and he has one the best voices in the business. He usually has another entertainer that will sing various artists like Conway Twitty or Johnny Cash. My husband and I accidentally caught this show in 2011 at Bills and we feel in love with big elvis. He's a sweetie with an amazing elvis voice. When I came back to vegas this week with my mom, this was the first thing I wanted to take her to. The new venue isn't as good, but I don't care. This guy is a trip highlight for me. With the demise of Bill's Gamblin' Hall (now the Cromwell), Big Elvis moved over to the piano bar at Harrah's. While I definitely prefer the venue of Bill's Gamblin' Hall, this bar at Harrah's works too. I like to grab a seat at the bar, game a little, and get some beers. It definitely seems like less of a crowd here than at Bill's, which is a true shame. But the show itself remains the same - totally awesome. This is the greatest free show in Vegas! And even if I had to pay, it would still be one of my fav Vegas shows. If you have any sort of appreciation for Elvis, you will love this show! We got in 20 minutes before his 3 p.m. Friday show and we couldn't find a table to sit at. I would definitely recommend getting in early to get a table because we wound up not being able to see anything sitting at the bar. THE BEST free show in Vegas, PERIOD. While the Fremont Street Experience, Mirage Volcano, Bellagio Fountains are all great free shows, there is something about Pete (Big Elvis) that I enjoy. This is a must see for everyone, Elvis fan or not. read more
