The location helps, on a surprisingly quiet narrow side street parallel to the main shopping hill. Beer is from Bays, Skinners or Otter, which is the kind of line up Man City wish they had! After being seated and getting our drinks, took 35 minutes to have our order taken (had to ask not once but twice). The servers were incredibly nice and friendly but such a wait is not acceptable, especially at 2:30 pm when we are quite hungry. Also charged for an extra coke (did not realize it until we were home), probably because I had to order the second one twice. If they can get their service fixed, easily five star food.

The range of hand-pumped real ales is far above average for St. Ives, and unlike many other establishments in the town it is not affiliated with or owned by St. Austell Brewery. As a result the beer selection offers real variety. They offer live music events on a regular basis, and it is one of those places where locals and tourists mix. Recommended.

They serve very reasonable priced beer from a Penzance brewery, that I have never come across anywhere else. I thought the regular bitter was top notch, but then the 'potion 9' was a 10! There were some other interesting looking beers there too...I could have stayed a lot longer. Doesn't serve food, doesn't need to....if you get peckish there is a fish and chip shop just a few doors down. The local bus goes right past..that is really the only way to get here.
