Every now and then you find a bar that is just what you need. And after a week in Falmouth I needed a decent lager beer. Now don't get me wrong; I like an ale or two. Tribute, Skinners, Doom Bar, Coastal, Rebel and Tintagel, drink 'em down no problem. But after a week I wanted a quality German or Czech lager. And boy did I get it in The Front Dortmunder Union was the star pilsner and I loved it.
With a great beer in front of me, I calmed down and took in the other attractions of this bar. Its location, overlooking the tiny inner harbour, the massive range of beers and ciders which I reckoned must be around 20 varieties on draught alone, the very friendly and engaging staff and the ability to bring any food you like and the great mix of drinkers (young/old/students/shore-men/families/a good mix of male and female) made this my favourite bar/pub in Falmouth.
It may be a little rough around the edges for some, but I'll miss The Front, and I'll be back read more
