Hidden warehouse with great prices for restaurant supplies. I love that you can get single items - no need for bulk purchases. I was looking for a specific gift and the owner greeted me and showed me where to look. They have every kind of dish you can think of. As a first time customer, he let me pick out a bowl and cup as a complimentary thank you - very much appreciated. Street parking only, in an industrial area. I will be back for more supplies, and recommending this place to others. read more

Absolute hidden gem for all of your kitchen needs. Skip TJ Maxx and Ross - this place has it all!! At such a great price too; you can buy small or large quantities. Parking is fine on the street. The owner Sam is very kind and was very helpful. Pad a lot of time because you'll be walking out with a huge stack of goods. Highly recommend. read more

The best service in the hole area!! The best customer service with Sam and Rilma!! They are very understanding with the price and very good vibes with both I definitely recommend this place! They also sell for walk in people! read more

Like a wizard's library but for dishware. No frills and incredibly charming, expect a beautiful maze of stacked, filled with extremely reasonably priced dishes, glassware, serving ware, restaurant supply, and more. If you like to explore and rummage through inventory, you're in for a treat. But also if you have any questions, Sam is the absolute sweetest and will point you in the right direction. Great for single items for at-home use and for bulk/wholesale. I'd also imagine that food stylists and set dressers would have a blast here too. Truly no one will be able to get me to stop talking about this place, I love it read more

Absolutely like walking down memory lane. Dishes galore. Stacks and piles from hotels and restaurants no longer around. A must-have expereince. The owner is knowledge and so charming. read more

Definitely a hole-in-the wall on San Fernando Road in Los Angeles, but you won't be disappointed by the kitchen supplies available for sale. Whether you are a professional chef or a home cook, they have every pot & pan imaginable. Prices vary, but if you know what you are looking for & what the competition offers, bargains can be found. Fun to browse the different isles for ideas for future projects as well. read more

I was initially looking for a new sauce pot and found so much more! I found Asian soup spoons and silicone coated tongs for incredible prices. I didn't see the sauce pot I wanted so I paid for what I'd found and asked the owner (?) if he carried what I was looking for and he took me to "the rest" of the store in the back that I thought was just storage for what was out front. He had a sauce pot a little bigger than I needed, but I bought it anyway. He also let me grab 2 coffee mugs of my choice because it was my first time there. He also threw in the Asian soup spoon I was looking for! This will DEFINITELY be my kitchen supply go to from now on. read more

Owner is right....this place is like Disneyland of dishes, home or kitchen supplies. I would call it like a wholesale/thrift store. Super cheap stuff. Great place to get house warming gifts, dyi gifts (paint and customize cups/dishes/trays), random neat items for the house, dish soap, sanitizer, buckets, huge huge cups, etc. Parking is tricky because there is construction on the road right now. Street parking. Definitely coming back to this store to grab some items to decorate and give as gifts. He gets a new shipment load each week. Expect new things. read more

First time coming here they have the best customer service. I will be coming back to this place.

Sam is the greatest! Nice and helpful. Personable. The prices are reasonable and the quality is great. He doesn't pressure you at all and allows you to take your time in browsing his inventory. Parking is no issue. Nearby breweries too! read more

Sam is a great man and always has what I am looking for at a great price. You want it? He has it for your restaurant. If not, he will order it for you. Staff is friendly. (Watch out for the parking enforcement. I almost got a ticket there for parking in a red zone.) read more

I don't really need more dishes, but my excuse for going to Dish Depot was to buy two "plain white plates" so that when I take pictures of food there is a nice neutral background. It was a valid reason for me to check out the place that is like Ali Baba's cavern for all things porcelain at fantastic prices. There is a reason restaurants come here to stock up and replenish their supplies. While I was shopping a couple of restaurant owners were loading up their SUV with four CASES of dishes. If you only need a few, they will sell you a small quantity, so just bring cash and a good eye for quality underneath the dust and stacks. This is not Williams Sonoma or Sur La Table, so don't expect any kind of order or presentation; keep in mind that the prices are why you are here. If you don't want to rummage, and prefer your porcelain in pristine condition, don't come here. If you love finding a steal and don't mind running your purchase through a dishwasher, you will love it here. They also have new and used kitchen equipment, ranging from professional espresso machines to heavy duty safety gloves. Meander and choose at your leisure, then find the small office and pay for your purchase (cash); Sam will ask how you found them and if you are a first time customer he will offer you a gift :) read more

Went there looking for some attachments for a mixer, they didn't have any. A lot of what looks like old dishes from yard sales or restaurants that closed down. So if you looking for dishes and utensils this might be a place to check out, but there is also another store about a mile or two away that had a lot more variety of everything and was cleaner and had staff that could help. read more

Sam was so helpful and I left with so many great items to use for my catering business. He also gave me samples of small dishes I was not sure were large enough. He told me to give them a try! Will definitely be back and have told many others about this place read more

I was looking for a particular sort of small bowl, with other items, needed for a gift. The kind of gentle, old world, charming design that is all too lacking in present day. There was such a place years ago on Los Feliz Road in Glendale, across from Glendale Memorial. No more. I googled Internet and found just the right place. Surprise! After years of driving along San Fernando Road on my way to Burbank and elsewhere, and taking my animals to a nearby Veterinary Hospital, I never knew the secret that Garfield held: THE DISH DEPOT! I walked in and I was like the kiddo in the candy shop. Magical. I was greeted and assisted, sincerely and politely, right away. There is a cornucopia of delightful dishware, cups and saucers, pitchers, tiny sauce bowls, teapots, individual manicotti gondolas, platters, curios, rooms filled with the charm of yesteryear, in and on which I prefer to serve my kitchen creations/ offerings. We have lost too much of our humanity, our good, strong values. These pieces, each one a treasure, are the gentle, beautiful artworks for the dining table, friends and family, that help us to nourish ourselves and our families, renew our joy and add to the colorful tapestry of what is our life and country. Although this great variety of antique dishes, et al. are mass produced, they all came from single human ideas of artistry. From the heart! Life is hard if you get out and struggle and live it. If you can also gather 'round the table with dear ones, partake of your meal on elegant simple dishware that showcases your repast, you strengthen again what is good in your blessed life. You will find abundant possibilities for this at DISH DEPOT. read more

Wow! I will only shop here from now on. No more crazy Ikea runs or Crate and Barrel binges. I had budgeted $450 for the bulk set of cups, plates, bowls and cutlery I needed. I only spent $90. Yep, not a joke. And the owner was oh so friendly. He let me take home three water pitchers as a gift, no cost. At first, I thought they wouldn't have what I needed, but when he walked me into the store room, I saw bulk selections of every kind of bulk plate, bulk cups, and bulk cutlery. Here is what I bought: 30 ceramic plates 40 glass tumblers 48 knives/spoons/forks 5 coffee mugs 2 glass water pitchers 1 ceramic water pitcher read more

This will be my first stop when looking for dishes. No point in wasting money at other stores - particularly when they are owned by big corporations. Just be prepared for no-frills shopping because it is dusty, unorganized, and poorly displayed. And I'm not talking about Big Lots or 99 Cent Store sloppy, but it looked like a hoarder's fantasy with floor-to-ceiling stacks of merchandise like in the TV Show, "American Pickers". Even though they have restaurant supplies, the selection is more about dishes like plates and bowls than kitchen equipment, cutlery, glassware, and metalware. read more

I own a small business in Orange County as a private chef. I needed ALL new plating and I am so happy I found this spot! It is a far drive but totally worth the savings. Sam showed us amazing hospitality by offering us hot tea and cookies while we browsed the store. When I got home I had a few damaged items and he took care of it right away and replaced them without hesitation. I will always come back here to restock my kitchen and event space when I need more products. I highly recommend taking the time to come here before shopping elsewhere. Thanks Same! Always great service, big place with lots of items on stock. Parking is a hassle there's only street parking with limited spaces. Clean restroom for customers to use and I always get offered water while I wait. (It's a nice gesture from the owner) read more

Sam is an honest gentleman who wants to help you get what you need. I got a cold prep table today for a good price and am happy with it. One of those great, weird LA gems. More geared toward restaurants than individuals, but the staff is very helpful and knowledgable about their massive inventory. The owner even threw in a couple of free mugs when I bought a pot... I chose a blue mug and an orange one and it turns out that the orange mug is the same style that Hooters buys. Not sure what that says about me (especially as a die-hard feminist), but as I write this I'm simmering Bolognese in my new pot and sippin coffee out of my Hooters mug. V satisfied. #feminism read more

After driving around for almost an hour and visiting storerooms with lots of promise but a lack of reward, I stumbled into this gem: The Dish Depot. We found their prices to be very reasonable! They were very helpful and eager to help. The only drawback was that it took a little while to get total to pay. (They look up prices manually through catalogs.) Otherwise, it was an excellent experience for us. We will be going back again. read more

This place is awesome! I went here to pick up some props for a shoot and the owner was so sweet I felt it was only right to give this place an awesome review! This place carries mostly main stream restaurant dishwater. Nothing too fancy. But he let me pick up some individual items which he gave to us for well below the purchase price. He even let us have a couple mugs for free! If you need to pick up some dishware for your restaurant or even some props like I did, go Dish Depot! read more

I'm so happy I stumbled on this amazing restaurant supply store. I love cooking, and have spent more than I'd like to admit at Sur la Table over the years. Most recently, I bought a pizza peel there and it was $35. Granted, I bought it with the intention of returning it because I really wanted to try my new pizza oven and Dish Depot was closed. So the next day I moseyed on down to Dish Depot and they have a WAAAAAAY better pizza peel for $12! Can you believe it?? The staff are very helpful, they led me right to the item I was looking for. I saw a kitchen torch (for creme brûlée!!!) and an old school (used) syrup warmer I think I might be interested in down the line! read more

I am so glad that I found this awesome place on Yelp! I own a small catering business and am always on the hunt for good prices on platters and other serving dishes and utensils. Dish Depot had EVERYTHING I was looking for and more! Not only that but the husband and wife owners were so friendly and warm. I felt like we were old acquaintances! I love going to places where you feel like they really get to know their customers and take care of them! I think that's really important for a small business owner! I will definitely be coming back here very soon. One can never have too many platters after all! I will definitely be telling all of my fellow caterers about them as well! Overall awesome experience! Thank you so much! Keep up the good work! read more

Wow. This is a lot of fun if you don't mind digging. I didn't realize the mishmosh of glasses crammed, balanced and undusted onto shelves were not odds and ends - they're examples of what you can purchase in lots of a dozen. I'd tell you what I paid but I'm not totally sure of what cost what. The pizza peel (solid wood) was marked at $8.99 and Sam's assistant said the dozen martini glasses were $24.95. Then Sam said $28 total. Either the man can't add to save his life or he's giving his accountant fits. He insisted $28 so there it was. Worth the trip. read more
