Saw the show "Dirty Money" and had a blast. I didn't realize two people from our table were part of the show. I'll definitely be back.

I've always wanted to do a dinner detective show and this show was great fun! There was at least 40 people participating trying to find out clues of who murdered the victim...actually turned out to be 3 victims! Clues were given out by using our phone to scan the barcode as the mystery progressed. Each table discussed clues and also people could wander to other tables to provide theories of who done it. Only 1 person guessed correctly. My partner and I had handed our photos in as requested. Imagine my surprise when both of us were picked to participate! I was suspect #1 and my partner was "interrogated " by the detectives but it was all in good fun and we took it in stride. The audience were awesome and the actors/staff were very organized and easily flowed with improv (we didn't have scripts). The Embassy Hotel was classy and the perfect setting for the show. We used the hotel valet parking garage for easy access. There was a pre choice of meals (chicken, pork, and vegetarian). Our chicken and pork were good but lukewarm. We ate salad and had cake for dessert. A cash bar was available. We each got a complimentary shot glass, "shots fired" because we did reviews. The food is limited; chicken or pork. Both were like warm and somewhat over done. We didn't come for the cuisine. We came for the fun. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance the standard for a downtown hotel. Overall, it was a fun experience. read more

It was not a great experience. Some of the parties were young people getting drunk and talking way too loud for us to hear. The performers did okay, but needed to be way louder. The staff should have helped quiet down the inconsiderate obnoxious parties who weren't really there for the experience. And none of the clues really helped. I would not do this again. And the food was meh. They ran out of some items and we didn't get them at our table. read more

Went to last nights performance & the food was less then average. When they serve the stump of the lettuce in your salad you know the food is bad!! When did the cost of a fountain drink go from $1.0 to $5.00 for a coke.. this is such a $$ grab.. I cannot recommend this place!! As for the performance.. it was average at best. Our party of eight celebrated a birthday at the Dinner Detective I really had no expectations, which is always advisable when you don't want to be disappointed. From what I surmise, is the Dinner Detective is a franchise that is provided murder mystery scripts from the parent company, then contracts with a hotel for room/catering, and hires local "talent". The performers were friendly, the script was "corny, and we had fun because we made it fun. It was an amateur production with the actors wearing their street clothes. No costumes or props/sets in the room just, eight round tables in a hotel event space. The food was edible, the service was poor but we didn't come to "eat" so we just accepted that part of the evening. Unfortunately three people in our party became ill about 8-9 hours later. I did voice concerns but they assured me that they did everything right (held food at right temperatures, didn't serve expired food) but did state the "protein" was cooked the day before and made a point to state the salad was made fresh that day. (this explains why you cant change what you order). While i give them credit for stating the meals were cooked the day belore, it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

But I paid to participate in show ok I don't know why I had to pay since they called other people out audience They said to bring a picture I still had to remind them who I was. We used the Dinner Detectives to host a fundraising murder mystery dinner and it was wonderful. They were professional, easy to work with, and all of our guests had a great time! I can't stress enough how easy it was to plan the event. They have templates, suggestions, and do just about everything but sell tickets for you. They replied to all of my questions right away and I went to the event confident that it would go smoothly - and I wasn't disappointed. We got this as a wedding gift and didn't know what to expect. It was sooooo fun. Even the people who started at our table not really into the experience, they were the most into it at the end. Had a blast! So much fun. Loved how you were able to interact the others and there was a BUNCH of laughing! The clues were serious, but finding clues were fun. The actors/actresses were fantastic! However, it is basic and fairly healthy. I thought the chicken option and veggie option were decent. Also, alcoholic beverages can be more pricy because it's at a hotel. Keep in mind you're paying for the entertainment and that is what you'll get!!!!! So just an FYI, it's more about the fun than the food! :) If doing this, I suggest people go into this with an open mind and have fun interacting with others. Went and the program was wonderful. I totally disagree with the individual who stated that it was not handicapped accessible. It WAS very accessible for most ANY handicap I know of. you can be whom you wish to be. you break the ice quickly and our table was GREAT. The food was good, coffee was yummy. We used The Dinner Detective to do a show for our charity dinner auction event. The crew of actors was fabulous. They interacted with our attendees and did a great job. This was an event where most people knew someone else, so they accomplished the job well. Summary: absolutely amazing experience that entertains any age or type of person. Highly recommended, will go back again. Not tasks at all and crowd is constantly laughing. How it works: The first 15 minutes allow people to arrive, meet the other guests, and hear the instructions. There is a coat hanger and a full bar available at all time. You make up a new name, lots of people choose a celebrity, and they give you ice breaker questions to help you interrogate and meet the other guests. There are four courses and they are all amazing, the food was delicious. During each course you are given clues to review, so you can easily ignore the whole clue process and eat and just listen to the rest of the table discuss the clues, don't feel like you have to solve the mystery to be involved. Between meals the detective actors make the crowd laugh hysterically and you meet dinner guests (and some are actors and suspects, you have to figure out which are which) that they ask to stand up and ask questions or have them help with the investigation. Nothing at all is tacky and every age was laughing so hard. We had a great time discussing our ideas with the dinner guests. At the end you write down who you think did it and why, and the best answer wins an awesome prize! I would highly recommend this as an event to bring some friends or family to. You laugh a lot and investigative interests are not required to still have a great time. I am already making plans to go back. read more

Show 3/5. It was interesting but not worth the money in my opinion (around $60 each). The actors were funny, at times overly cheesy. I spent a great deal of the dinner worried I was going to be interrogated in front of the giant group, as did others at my table. I would've had a much better time if it wasn't for that. Not sure if everyone who was interrogated was an actor or not but I'm glad I wasn't picked. The clues were strange- the person next to me knew who was the killed but he always had a friend who was an actor in the show.... The food wasn't good at all. 2/5 stars. I picked the vegetarian choice and wasn't satisfied. The first course was vegetable spring rolls and chicken quesadillas- the spring rolls were good, I was disappointed I couldn't try the other because it contained meat. The next course was salad which was very small and nothing special. The main course was roasted root vegetables and cubes of roasted squash. More like 2 side dishes instead of a main course. Finally, the dessert... German chocolate cake, however it tasted old and something you'd buy in the frozen section at a grocery store. read more

The show was very entertaining. It kept moving, had humor, and made you really think to solve the crime. There were twists and turns throughout the night. My brother ended up winning the whole thing and his prize package valued up to $100 with tickets to some comedy shows and a tshirt.
