People hate on smorgasbords for all sorts of reasons. Yes its not 5 star Michelin food (its not…read moresupposed to be). BUT it has a VARIETY of food and gives you a taste of Lancaster County. If its your birthday you get a free meal when you go with someone purchasing. To be honest, compared to other Lancaster County Buffets, their price is the most reasonable! I actually prefer their breakfast Buffet, but we recently went for dinner. Tons of seating, we went on a Friday Dinner Rush and it only took us about 10 minutes to get seated. Just some of my top picks and highlights: Steaks made to order Milkshake station The dessert bar Icee machine Potato pie Brown Butter noodles Fried chicken Corn casserole And don't forget the PIE! If you are visiting, just do it and get a taste of Lancaster County! Two huge aisles of food with different items going each direction, check both! Every night has a special, seafood night, steak night, etc...pick your favorite!

The baked hash brown casserole was very underwhelming. 3 stars: Bacon and sausage link was fine. I would expect both to be this good from any reputable buffet. 5 stars: I loved the omelette station (egg whites and all the veggies; no cheese). The hash brown wedges were pretty good, as was the French toast. And they had 100% pure Vermont maple syrup Overall, good value but overhyped. To get the best bang for your buck you gotta know what's good for your tastes and load up your plate on those items. So, pretty much like any buffet.

I discovered Dream Dinners through the Frugal Lancaster blog and although I have not yet…read more"committed" to coming back and doing a full session I am definitely interested. I think it's an unique concept and to really understand the way it works I would suggest going to one of the "open houses" once a month for $34.99 like I did. At that event you will get to prep 3 meals (with 3 portions each) sample some food, and learn about the process. You can't buy groceries for 3 meals for that price, yet alone restaurant quality meals, so what have you got to lose? Here's the lowdown on how this works and below is after all the introductory specials they will offer you when you are on the regular plan. You view the menu for that month and select/pay for 36 portions - that's 12 meals if you have a 3 portion meal, 6 meals if you are feeding 6. You come to one of the prep sessions (these are scheduled in advance, although they do have some walk in sessions available after purchase). Once there they have different stations set up for the various recipes. All the ingredients are already prepped (chopped, etc). They supply all the containers (a mix of bags and foil boxes) to put your food in. Than you just follow the instructions at that station for that recipe - (example add 1 cup cheese, etc). The proper measuring tools are already in each ingredient. The instructions tell you what container to use and how to assemble. When you're done you put it all in a big bag, insert the recipe card (with cooking instructions which is dated/labeled) and take home and freeze. That's it! The advance is no shopping at the grocery store or meal planning beyond picking your recipes. While you do have to cook the actual meal at home they are designed to be easy to prepare and fast cooking. So if you have a family of 3, in one hour you will have prepped 12 meals for the month to use at your leisure. Some come with sides, others don't. Plus they have already prepped sides available for cash/carry if you commit to the 36 portions. Once you do it you are not obligated to do it every month, so it's not a subscription - pick and choose what months and when you'd like to do it. Each meal is priced separately but considering how much it costs to go out to eat it is a savings + no food waste! The menu changes every month and there's nutritional values for each meal. And if you don't want to spend an hour prepping you can pay a flat fee of $20/month and they will do the work for you. I strongly suggest anyone who struggles to get dinner on the table every night for whatever reason to come to one of their open houses. I'm not one that usually is impressed by trends and consider my self to be "cheap" regardless of what I spend my money on but I could see this actually saving me money. Plus time at the dreaded grocery store!

For…read morethose that might not know how it works, you setup a time by calling or going online and place an order for a certain number of meals, selected from the 12 available meals for the month. Then you go in and get to work preparing the meals to be put in freezer bags to take home with you. The idea sounds good but to me it's basically like paying $25/meal to go somewhere to make your own Stouffer's frozen dinner. It doesn't look fresh, it doesn't look good and it doesn't allow you flexibility in choosing ingredients, style of sauces or cuts of meats. Plus almost all ingredients are frozen! Maybe to people who don't have much free time or cooking knowledge, and would rather step meals up a notch from frozen dinners, this would be great, but I'd rather go to a grocery store, choose my own ingredients and make a fresh dish for substantially less money. I did like how friendly all employees were and that they serve complimentary scones, coffee cake, and coffee/tea. They do their best but it's just not for me.

My family is 2 people -- both "empty-nesters" and "snow birds". We're semi-retired but still have busy days just younger couples with families. We do the 4-meal plan once a month and split them in half. The result is 8 meals for $100. Each meal easily serves the two of us with some leftover for lunch another day. That's $12.50 for dinner for a healthy, quick dinner for two. For comparison, Wegman's offers individual meals to go for $6 (12.00 for 2). Let;s Dish is much more economical than carry out. For travel, Let's Dish is perfect! We pack a cooler bag with 8-10 meals and go to Ocean City or Florida. We can cook yummy quick meals without purchasing spices, condiments and ingredients. The staff at the Timoniuim Let's Dish are very helpful. They always offer suggestions for prep and packaging. My husband and I can bang out our 8 meals in about an hour. Since we're doing the prep we can control the salt and spice content. Fresh hot scones, coffee, and tea are always available during day sessions. We enjoy them while reviewing the menus for the coming months. There is always an instore sign-up bonus so we're always getting a little goody for free. I particularly like the suggestions for sides and wine to "go with". This info is on a printed page that I can take with me (take extra copies for travel) and post on my freezer door. Let's dish does not take the place of cooking from scratch but it has a permanent place in our schedule. It's a cost-effective time-saver. And it's a lot of fun.

They were about a 50 minute drive from me but it didn't matter to me at all. It was good to go out on a Saturday morning once a month to get my meals. The first time I went, they were still open for assembly sessions. Everyone was very friendly and Jackie (the only employee I can remember chatting with) was grateful that I looked them up. Subsequent months later, I picked up my meals as they were closed for assembly sessions. I would pull up, open my trunk, and give them a call. They would bring out my meals in bags and I would be ready to go. I really appreciate them keeping open even though they have to put in extra work just so I could have my great, easy to cook meals. I'm not a good cook and I don't really like to cook so Dream Dinners has been a lifesaver for me these past 5ish years. The Flemington location is top-notch and I would recommend to anybody who wants meal kits but doesn't want to pay the high prices that places like Blue Apron charge to deliver to your house.
