I used to frequent Poseidon--mostly for lunch, sometimes for dinner, and a few times for takeout…read more One evening in the summer, I stopped in to order takeout. The young woman at the desk was engaged in a conversation with her friend. Both were about 17-19. I stood patiently waiting for quite a while. Finally I spoke up and said "May I see the takeout menu?" She handed one to me, and went back to her conversation. The "friend" sneered at me and moved so that she was blocking me from the register. I couldn't believe it. After a while I looked at the employee and finally said "Oh hey, I am ready to order." She glanced up and nodded. But went back to listening to her "friend." At this point I walked up to the register and said "Excuse me but I'd like to order." The "friend" GLARED at me, spitting venom from every pore. Then she launched into a TIRADE. I ignored her and placed my order. I won't lie though, I was fn shaking. Here I am, a middle-aged woman who's endured some trauma and BS in my life and come out on the other side, and this nasty little B is taking me on?! She continued to glare at me the entire time I was there waiting for my food, up to and including when I walked out the door. It was APPALLING. How no one got involved is just disgusting. I spoke to an employee and asked for the manager/owner. She said they weren't there. I left my name and number and asked for a call back. Heard nothing. The food is OK--not worth abuse. I never went back to Poseidon.

Food 3stars. Price 2 stars. Stopped here with another…read morefamily member who is also a fan of those pillowy bao buns and was intrigued by this restaurant concept. We both got the three bao combo. They are all tasty but some did not meet expectations. The buffalo style chicken mother clucker bao was ordered by both of us. No surprises in flavors although the chicken in this sandwich and in another one ordered with chicken the chicken did not sit well in the bun. This makes for sloppy eating and not something you want to attempt in the car. The crispy chick was ok but was light on sauce and garnish and therefore ate a bit dry and short on flavor. The Lil bao wow promised pork belly, green chili sauce and radish. I was expecting a slice of pork belly but got shredded pork and none of the fattiness of pork belly. This ate like naked pulled pork. My dining partner enjoyed his other two bao but agreed that the flavor expectations raised by the menu did not make it to the plate. Price for the 3 bao combos was $15.45 and we each got a fountain drink. I was shocked when the receipt read $36+ before tax and tip. That because the fountain drinks were $3 each. This is not posted anywhere on the menu and I didn't ask so shame on me but that kind of made my decision to not come back again. The food is ok and that kind of gouging for a drink in a takeout / counter service locale is not. Budget $20 per person.

While the interior design and service are very good, food itself is lackluster and not of good value. My husband ordered $18 mini pot (five spice chicken), but he wasn't impressed by the flavor and portion. For him to say "the lunch is horrible", it means the flavor is really not there. I had the $18 signature chicken soup rice noodle. I would say it's of better value. But I wasn't too keen about the flavor either. Their food presentation is superb, but at the end of the day a restaurant needs to work on flavor and value if it's seeking long term success.

Caitlin & ling were nice Caitlin took the time to explain the menu. This is a hot pot place. You can order other things. You can order from their menu or create your own hot pot. They have a fixing bar where you can get sauces an other ad-ins for your hot pot m Food: Scallion pancake: it was good. It comes with a sauce Gyoza: it was ok Dessert soup with white fungus dates & brown sugar: it had a weird texture. It was lightly sweet. It was ok. Hot pot: They bring a beautiful pot to your table with thr both & meat we selected: lamb. They add hot water when the broth gets low however that diluted the broth. I would rather they brought more broth. The lamb was good but some of the lamb was tough and some was very tender which made us think they were cooked at different times. I took it home and pressure cooked it and it was great. I added rice to my take away. The portions were so big, it could feed 4 to 6 people!! The manager Zoie came over and answered questions about the process. She was nice. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to going back.
