The gardens are on 32 acres so it is much larger than it appears when you pull up. I wasn't expecting it to be so large. The property is divided into 10 smaller gardens with different themes. There is a Japanese garden; Sir Walter Raleigh garden; Azalea garden; Hillside garden; Desmond Native Wetland Trail garden; Ebersol Holly Collection; conifer garden; rose garden; fruit and vegetable garden and the pollinator garden. One area had a collection of succulents. The trails are well marked with directional signage and maps along the way. Most of the trails are paved. With how the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens are set up, you can just visit certain gardens if you don't have time to see it all. I liked that there was seating along the way if someone just wants to relax and take in the beauty of nature. Some appeared to be using it to get exercise so this is a great place to do that if you live nearby. I am glad I found a new botanical garden to enjoy and highly recommend it to others.
