I've been going to this place for 10 years, and since the pandemic started, all of their good doctors have left. It's impossible to get an appointment, to get a refill, and to get someone to show up to a virtual appointment. Unreal how badly this business has deteriorated by being managed by a third party company called Schweiger Group. They don't answer their phones, emails, fax requests, zoom meeting appointments, etc. If you have nothing but time in your hands, then go for it, otherwise don't waste your hours trying to communicate with these people. Dr.Kassim is extremely insensitive and has no bed side manor. The nurse and staff were nice. I had keloid steroid injections which should have been a surgery but the doctor wanted to cash in by having me come back every month for painful injections. One time they ran out of numbing cream...I cried the whole way home. I also had question about acne scarring, she prescribed me four different medications to deal with the acne first. I had maybe ten little scars I wanted to lighten but she gave me enough medication for a teenager with severe acne. Finally on the day on my operation to remove my keloids (two separate appointment$$$$), she didn't even know which ear the operation was supposed to be done on. My wait time was about 10 minutes in the lobby and about 5 minutes in the exam room. Everyone was extremely nice and pleasant all the way around. No complaints about anything. read more

My 90 y/o Mom had a rash that needed to be evaluated and treated. She had been to two other Dermatologists who she did not care for, so we tried The Derm Group in Morristown. We went to see Dr. Patel for care and we absolutely love him. I was shocked to read the negative reviews here as our experiences were actually perfect. We had a very short wait both times, the staff was extremely polite and helpful, and Dr. Patel is a doll. I am a retired RN, so I am very fussy with any medical care received by my family and myself. My Mom will continue with them as needed and I wouldn't hesitate to see Dr. Patel for any of my issues. read more

A little about me. I'm a model agent where I have an impeccable eye for beauty with vogue, gap, hm jobs under my belt. I also went from a man to a beautiful woman. I am fuming mad. I am reporting them to the better business bureau immediately ! I came all the way to morristown from NYC to see this office for the hollows under my eyes a month ago.It's a scam! First off "doctor" Andrea Kassim barely put any filler under my eye and made it worst. She put some in my lips and cheeks since she barely used any of the syringe and had a lot left. Even after this half ass treatment I still had some left. She said I could come back and use the rest of the syringe if I'm not happy with results. So i come back and she's trying to convince me it looks great. She then finally saw the area I was speaking about. Then said it will be another 850$ I'm in tears- she also asked if I'm transgender which I am- from my first visit a month ago. what does that have to do with my under eye area? And it makes me think she doesn't like me for that reason hence mistreating me. DO NOT COME HERE. These other reviews speak for themselves. I saw Dr Bilkis twice in the past 2 months for different issues. He was amazing, took his time to answer my questions and diagnosed both issues, gave me a treatment, and both issues cleared up! Very inconsistent billing practices. Went for psoriasis treatment in light booth. Never saw any providers except the first day when a technician explained the procedure to rub sun screen on and turn machine on. After that the front desk sent me back alone and I left each treatment being told there was no copay with my insurance. I continued to schedule a 10 treatment session and 6 months later started getting bills from them for large copays claiming I saw a physician at each visit. When I called they were extremely rude and immediately sent charges to collection agency. Avoid this office! read more

I too have a major billing complaint with The Derm Group. They saw me and my two teenagers all at the same time in the same office visit. The MD checked each of my teens' acne for 1 minute each and they charged me for THREE separate MD visits. I am now being chased for the money and looking into filing a fraud case. I wish I had read the other reviews prior to making an appointment with this office. I did something today that I have never done before - I asked for my co-pay back and left the office after waiting an hour for my daughter's appointment. We arrived early as requested to fill out new patient paper work. We were not even greeted, just asked for information and given a very disdainful attitude by the receptionist named Julie ( I asked as I was leaving the office as I was already composing this review in my mind). The paperwork was completed by our scheduled appointment time. There were three other people waiting in the waiting room. As we waited additional patients came in. When one of those that arrived after we did was escorted back I went up to Julie and said, we have been waiting over a half hour, when can we expect to be seen? She gave me a rude look and said I think you are next. 15 minutes later another patient who entered at least a half hour after we did was escorted back. At this point I went and asked Julie for my co-pay back and told her to cancel my appointment. She said "sure". No apology, no explanation, nothing! The other girl behind the desk said to me "we only have two doctors here today". Seriously? If anyone had even said to us, I am sorry the wait is so long, or let me check and see what is going on, even been polite we would have waited to be seen. The rudeness encountered made me not want to be involved in this practice in any way. My advice is to stay far away! read more

I had my initial appointment with Dr. Bilkis early August 2020 after my face swelled up and was red and blotchy after applying sunscreen the day before. This seemed like a contact allergen to me but Dr. B thought it looked like rosacea so he put me on a topical soolantra. It IMMEDIATELY made me break out again, but when I called to let them know, I was called back and told to keep on it, that's normal. Each week after using the medication it wasn't getting better and each week I would call to tell them and they would call me back the NEXT WEEK to say to keep on the med. After 3 solid weeks looking like a freak, with a red, swollen, itchy and blotchy face that was weeping, on the med I finally decided to consult another dermatologist and after seeing my face they said to immediately stop the soolantra, that what I was experiencing was a contact allergen as I suspected. They gave me another med and within one night it was 50% better. I understand these things can be hard to diagnose, and I have to say Dr. Bilkis was really wonderful the day of my initial appointment, he spent 45 minutes with me and suggested some other thing like making sure I didn't have inflammation that was causing the issue. However my frustration comes from the follow up. I called 5 times over the last 3 weeks complaining of the same symptoms I went in for and each time they took a week to get back to me and rather than Dr. Bilkis calling me back, someone from the office would call and say, just stick with the medication. I finally called the last time yesterday, the Friday of Labor Day weekend at about 10 am and was assured someone would get back to me, by 4:30 I had not received a call back and when I called again, the answering service assured me that they would find someone from the entire groups clinical team to get back to me so I wouldn't have to wait until Tuesday to get an answer (and look like a freak for the weekend and my birthday). But I never received a call. Thank god for my former dermatologist who answered quickly even after I left the practice when I moved, and knew exactly what to do, and responded immediately. I'll be taking the hour and a half drive back to see the Dermatology Clinic in Long Branch from now on. I never should have left. The Dermatology Group was so quick to ask me for a review within 3 hours of my first appointment, and I gave them a good one, but amazing how they are quick to ask me for my good review but I could barely get a call back when I was suffering with a red swollen, itchy, blotchy, weeping, dry face for THREE WEEKS! It's bad enough losing 6 months of normal life from a pandemic but this added another month that I couldn't leave my house! Maddening! read more

This review is for The Dermatology Group as a whole. This is the second time I've had a disappointing experience with them at two different locations (Nutley and Morristown). Nutley - I waiting for over an hr after my appointment time to be seen by the Dr. who came in for two seconds before sending in his NP in training to write me unwanted prescriptions. There was no proper consultation, to hear my concerns. Today I am sitting in the Morristown location's parking lot after driving over 30mins to get here just to be told the DR. called out sick yesterday and I should have gotten a call. Dr. Dundon is friendly and educated. Unfortunately the staff is unprofessional, and trying to make an appointment is impossible with the call center. They won't get back to you with test results, including cancer. I went for simple culture and was late for my appointment. After waiting for the receptionist to finish a call with a patient, she said horrible things about once hanging up; she told me, "who are you? You are late. The PA will be mad; let me see what's going on back there; they took you off the schedule". I sat down to hear, "I'm not seeing her"! The receptionist didn't say anything to me, and I had to ask her if that unprofessional statement from either Andrea or her assistant was about my appointment. I was told to leave due to the "10 min rule". I was 20 mins late; had they approached me professionally, I would have understood and rescheduled. I have been to the derm group in Morristown for other appointments, and the "10 min rule" must only apply to the physicians and PAs as the wait is always 45 mins or longer. Both the patient's and the provider's time are equally important. I was also told two days prior that they would call me back to squeeze me in, not once but three times that day, and they never called. Unprofessional and rude staff. I took my 10 year old daughter here 11/8 for wart removal on her foot. We don't have health insurance and I was told the office visit would be $150. I asked if that Included freezing off the wart and was told that yes if the doctor believes it is a wart and that it can be removed by freezing she, Dr. Andrea Kassim, will do the procedure in the office today and it would be included. I had to go back for a follow up treatment 2 weeks later 11/22 and same thing, $150 for the visit with another freeze spraying the wart. A month later 12/26 I received a bill stating I owed $190!!! The bill stated my 2 payments of $150 were "deposits" toward my actual bill. I went to the office in person and spoke to the 2 ladies that were both present during my previous visits and were well aware of what I was told about the cost of those visits. They told me that I had to take it up with billing dept. and there was nothing they could do. I explained multiple times that I was told that the $150 per visit included whatever the doctor would do that day and I was told that the $150 was just to see the doctor and did not include anything else. I stated I would never agree to pay $150 just to see a doctor and not including anything she may have to do. This place is fraudulent and should be avoided at any cost. I had an exceptional experience at The Dermatology Group. The woman at the front desk personnel was friendly and helpful, the office atmosphere was pleasant, and Dr. Andrea Kassim was extraordinary. She was attentive, answered my questions, and provided information in terms I could understand. She was personable and made me feel like she truly cared about my well-being. She took the time to make a strong doctor-patient connection with me and I didn't feel like she rushed through the appointment. I've been to a few dermatologists in Morris County and I have to say she has been best. I'm referring my husband and daughter to The Dermatology Group because of my great experience with Dr. Kassim. Ever loved waiting? Then this is the place for you! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a not so nice front desk lady. Then you are escorted to a small compact room with 80-90's top hits. Then after that you will do more waiting! After Hail and Oates have had their 5th song comes on, the doctor finally decides to walk in. Then he gives you some cruddy medical advice, you pay your copay and you leave. So basically your paying money to stay in a small room for 40 min. read more

I just finished a treatment with Dr. Bilkis. He's phenomenal and chatty (if you like doctor who talks like I do). The medical assistants that I've interacted with were also very nice and gentle. I definitely give the doctor and nurses 5 stars. But I'm giving only 3 stars to this office because of the staff. Unfortunately the front desk lady wasn't so welcome on my 4 times visiting. And when I had to reschedule an appointment, she scheduled with a different doctor, once I declined because I prefered to continue my treatment with Dr. Bilkis, she gave me that kinda of face. The office is beautiful, but the service, the main thing, is horrible. This is the worst dermatologist experience I've ever had. The first visit was for myself, for a full body control. The doctor--Bilkis-- spent probably 2 minutes, in a rush, while joking with the nurse. When I asked about a couple of concerns, he gave me a 2 word reply and left. The second time I made an appointment asking specifically for a female doctor for my daughter. Once there, after waiting.... they told me doctor Bilkis was going to see her! I said NO. So, we saw the "nurse", who ALSO spent less than 2 minutes, and didn't even bother to answer our concerns. Today I called because I have an allergic reaction. Don't go there. My 7 month baby had severe eczema, bleeding scars and crying non stop. We were desperate and the only doctor who had availability was Dr. Bilkis. So when my 6 year old son first started seeing the dermatology group in september of 2019 it was in the Flanders office with casey croes. She was absolutely amazing with him! I couldn't rave about her enough. Long story short Casey no longer was accepting our insurance. My son had a mole in his groin that came back and looked horrific. The flanders office had closed and morristown was the next best bet. After such an amazing time dealing with Casey, we called and made an appt with Dr Bilkis. First appointment went great. He seemed so nice. His nurse was a bit short but whatever. We scheduled my sons excision for a week later. This time the nurse was so unbelievably sweet (different nurse). Dr Bilkis seemed a little nasty with her though. Hed snap at her, but was great with my son so I said well as long as hes nice to my kid its whatever but I do feel for his nurse. Today, we had to go for the stitch removal. Please keep in mind my son is 6, this is in his groin which obviously is very sensitive and after being awake for the now 3 procedures hes had he is scared shitless. He was scared and nervous. He started to cry. He didn't want his stitches out because it would hurt. The nurse and I were trying to calm him. She was so sweet and sympathetic. I'm leaving one star because then I had dr bilkis not only screaming at the nurse and my child, but literally was manhandling him! At one point he told my son to shut up because it doesnt actually hurt! My son left scared running for the door, I was absolutely appalled, his mouth was bleeding and he had hand prints on him from his man handling by this asshole. Oh dont you worry I have filed a complaint against him too. I have never in my life been so appalled by the way someone has treated my scared child. He should be ashamed of himself! Will not be going back ever...When I got to my appointments on time I was forced to wait for about an hour in the waiting room and then I was placed in an exam room to wait even longer. The final straw for me was when I had an appointment about another issue and I had a stubborn pimple on my face and the doctor asked if I wanted her to look at it. She touched the pimple with a tool for one second and charged me $120 when I received the bill claiming she extracted something from my face...which she did not because nothing came out of the pimple and she didn't apply any pressure. I had my first appointment with this office, specifically Dr. Bilkis, this week and I'm so glad I did. Looking at some of the negative comments about wait time, I was early for my appointment so any waiting I did was due to that. I may have waited a little bit past my scheduled time but frankly I'll take an office any day where the doctor I see takes the extra time to address any questions or concerns I may have and isn't rushing me out the door just to stay on a strict "patient in, patient out" schedule. I met Dr. Bilkis about 4 years ago. I did read all of the reviews about him. At first, I was unsure on my first visit. He seemed unconvential, in terms of other doctors I have seen. I wasn't sure if I would go back. He was okay in terms of bedside manner, but right on target for my treatments. I decided to re-visit for additional treatments. He was very caring, once I showed my friendliness toward him. I continued to see him for dermatological concerns. Fast forward....Dr. Bilkis may at first have a "sort of rough edge impressionably", but now that I really know him, he is one of the most caring physicians I have ever known. I happen to be a nurse; and have worked with and been to many. If you talk to Dr. Bilkis as I have, he is down to earth, caring, kind, spends more time with you; and not only treats the condition that you visited for, but is concerned about how your life is going. He will advise you about your personal concerns you are going through, but also suggests other professionals who can help with the problems you are going through in your life. I am sorry that most have mis-read Dr. Bilkis. I say get to know him, he really cares...not only about your physical dermatological visit, but he cares about you, the whole person; and your struggles in your life. Please do not mis-read this gem of a doctor. He is not only right on target with your dermatological problems, but is a brilliant doctor for everything. I am really thankful for him and to be in his care. I trust him implicitly. Some gems are rough around the edges until they are buffed up. He truly is a brilliant gem of a doctor! He not only cares about your physical ailment you are visiting him for, he cares about your soul; and your worries, difficulties in life and concerns. Listen to him with open ears.
