Unfortunately I can't give this a better review... "Detroit Style" reminded me of those frozen French bread pizzas you get from the freezer section at the grocery store, but without sauce... The regular round pie itself is equal to gas station pizza. read more

Finally, Salvation from the bland ole sub chains! Seriously, if you blink you just might miss this place, but as small as it is they make on hell of a big and flavorful sub. There are no six-inch subway sandwiches here, their version of a six-inch sub puts any chain to shame. The Italian sub is filled with freshly prepared meatballs, zesty sauce and provolone cheese, perfectly prepared. They should consider their vegetarian sub the signature sub, it beats any we have experienced yet. They treat every customer like family, and we will be stopping back on our next trip through. DO NOT pass by The Depot w/o stopping in. The Depot is a very cute little place with happy, friendly employees. We had THE BEST Italian sub I've had in years. Seriously, it was perfect, fresh quality meat, warm soft bread, fresh veggies (tomato, lettuce & onions - your choice of course), oil & vinegar. We were going to take the sub to go, but it smelled so good we grabbed a table & gobbled it down. Two adults and we split the large - it was huge. I'm SO happy they are in Columbia because this little town has very limited fresh, good food. I prefer to buy from local owners than from chain-type restaurants. Oh yeah - the pizzas were flowing out of there. I can't count how many pizzas were picked up just during our little sub-fest. I highly suggest The Depot. If I had even 1 recommendation, maybe just play some music. Food, don't change a thing! I'll post photos next time. read more

The Depot was a surprising little find on the way to the outer Banks. The service is very friendly and the subs are generous with a great price point. I got the Italian sub and it was made perfectly to order and as you can see from the pictures they are quite generous with their meat. The owner even followed up with us to make sure we were enjoying our meal and we were satisfied with our food. My wife and I will be definitely stopping back by there the next time we're through that area. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is easy to miss though when using Waze. It will route you to come up behind the building. Just trust that it's correct and drive around the building and you will see the restaurant. read more

The yankee was absolute trash. The Detroit style pizza lacks any sauce whatsoever, also trash. The Turkey sandwich was soggy and the meat was trash. The Italian sub was.....trash. The margarita pizza was surprisingly....trash. The bbq bird pizza was at best trash. End of review. read more

After a long day, hot day of sightseeing we needed dinner and The Depot was a fabulous choice! We found it on Yelp, and the 5 star reviews are telling the truth! We got a Kitchen Sink and a Margarita pizza, house salad, and an order of breadstick. The pizzas were hot; the cheese was fabulously melty: the crust was crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. The toppings were generous on the both the pizza and the salad, which was super fresh and chilled. The breadsticks come with marina and cream cheese which was a new thing for us, but we tried it and it is yummy! It seems to be more of a take out place with only 2 tables but they were very welcoming of us to eat in. There are also toasted subs and ice cream available but we were stuffed so didn't try those. The owner was a sweet lady who came in just as we were finishing and gave my kids ring pops and airheads which they of course loved. Overall this is a great place for delicious pizza and if we are ever this way again, we will be back! read more

Talk about a hole in the wall restaurant. When you're driving by it, it barely looks like anything but when you step in those doors you feel like you're at home. Between the welcoming staff and the glorious smells that hit you like a wall as soon as you enter that building this place truly is a hidden gem of Colombia, North Carolina. Simple run from scratch pizza and sub shop everything from the crust to the sauce to the fresh mozzarella cheese is beautifully executed on every one of their pizzas. As vanilla as I am I just got the pepperoni pizza but even that completely knocked my socks off. It wasn't greasy it was robust in flavor and the sauce was immaculate and the crust was chewy and delicious. They exclusively do 14" pizzas but they make fantastic leftovers the next day. If at all possible be sure to get a side of their signature "schmeer" cream cheese to dip your crust into. Absolutely delicious. read more
