So I jumped on the Opencare offer and decided to try out a different dentist that was closer to home and I'm so glad I did. I saw Dr. Linda Chau and she was amazing. In the past couple of visits I've had with her (including an initial check-up, a cleaning, a root canal, and a root canal check up), I've never had to wait for her. She's always professional, punctual, and extremely thorough in my visits. She is always explaining what is happening and I never feel like I'm in the dark when it comes to my care. I remember on my initial visit, she went through every tooth and what I could do with it and gave me a list of things she'd eventually like to do. However, knowing that I didn't want to be pressured to do things, she then gave me timelines on when I would want to have certain things done by because it would affect my oral health, and which of the items were mainly cosmetic or touch-ups and could be put on hold for a long time. On top of all that, she's extremely good at what she does. When she did my root canal, she was so skilled, I actually fell asleep in the chair XD The rest of the staff is also amazing, friendly, and always willing to help. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone who is looking for a new dentist.

When she said she didn't have that he tried to sign her up for "financing" for this and to get her signature she asked what the interest rate was at which time he said he could wreck her credit rating and she would never get any loans or a mortgage again. I transferred over the money to her and took her to my dentist who said only what she came in for was needed and that it should have only cost about $250 to $300 and not many times that.

If you are afraid of the dentist, look no further - you will love her as she actually makes the experience pleasant. Not only is her office extremely comfortable, it is super high tech, and you can tell right away that she really cares for the comfort of her patients. No dreaded "horse needle" that you normally associate with dentists - fillings generally don't require local anesthetic because she uses a special laser called Solea (one of I believe 2 offices in the entire city that has one) - and for instances that do require local anesthetic, she has this amazing device called "The Wand" that can numb one tooth at a time, and it doesn't look scary. But despite the fact that she has all these fancy gadgets, pricing is very reasonable, and she does not push unnecessary treatments. I had a night guard made, and not only is it very comfortable, but it was a lot less expensive than what my previous dentist quoted me. Also, my father, who lives out of town, recently had a dental emergency when in the city, and I suggested that he call Dr. Jecu's office instead of calling his old dentist here. Sure enough, she was able to get him in promptly - and he was extremely impressed as well. Also worth mentioning that Dr. Jecu does some of the regular cleanings herself - but her hygienist, Lis, is amazing too. Highly recommended!

"Wonderful experience"…read more I have hated going to the dentist for as long as I can remember. The trauma was such as a child that my mother would never tell me when we were going to the dentist. However, when we turned that corner and realization struck of our destination all hell would break loose. I would scream all the way to the dentist, in the dentist office, on the dentist chair and all during the appointment until we left and I was sure we were not going back. My phobia for the dentist did not improve through the years and my reluctance impeded my ability to do preventative oral care. I visited the dentist only when I had no other alternatives. I. Had. No. Choice. I developed an infection in a broken root canal. The infection further advanced into a fistula and erupted draining into my mouth. To say I was in pain doesn't cover the half of it. I know I had to go but I was scared. I googled dentists and started reading reviews to get a sense of whom I should choose. It may sound crazy but in this case it really helped. I clicked on Bathurst-Dupont Dental and read the reviews on Dr. Matt Dang. I felt reassured by what I read and made the call, two days later I was in his office. He examined my tooth and took an x-ray and told me what I suspected, the teeth had to be extracted, it simply could not be saved. I expressed my fears and he listened. I was concerned because it meant that I would have to have my gums cut as the teeth had broken in such a way that there was nothing for the dentist to hold onto in order to extract it. After listening to my woes and reassuring me, Dr. Dang gave me a referral to Dr. Tom Manh Nguyen. He also gave me a digital copy of my x-ray that I could simply forward to the Dr. Nguyen myself, how cool is that. It was a refreshingly great visit and I like that he just listened - one of the best character traits in a dentist, the ability to listen and be empathetic. Thanks Dr. Dang.

I scheduled an appointment on OpenCare. They called me back a couple times which I unfortunately missed. I did call them multiple times to book an appointment. When I finally got through (after multiple attempts, different times during the day), the lady on the phone was aggressive, implying my fault I couldn't that when she called and couldn't reach me. Should've been the first red flag. I said I'm still interested in an appointment for cleaning and general check up. I mentioned I found them through OpenCare. Her verbatim to me, "Oh no. No OpenCare. We don't take open care. No more" I told her it shouldn't matter if I found them through OpenCare or not. I also mentioned I was interested in using insurance benefits with 100% coverage. Plus assuming they provided good services, I would come back as a long term patient. Guess they don't really understand the Customer Lifetime Value in dental practices. Who jumps through multiple dentist's anyway?! Our conversation turned short as soon as I mentioned Open Cafe. She dismissed the conversation and hung up rather quickly. The dental practitioners probably provides decent dental care. Too bad it's hard to experience their service considering their front office lacks skills required for patient facing and customer service. Would NOT RECOMMEND based on this interaction alone.
