The owner, Marino, is a charming guy who is happy to give you a tour, and he's readily available as needed. The house has at least 5 bedrooms, but there is also space to set out an extra bed or two. It's huge. The back yard is a lot of fun - pool, jacuzzi, golf putting green, hammocks, and fire pits. There are some lovely views of vineyards and mountains. We ate breakfast out there and loved it. There's a full kitchen, and there's light gym equipment in the garage. It's far better than a hotel. I'd recommend this to anyone going to tour wineries for the weekend and looking for a fabulous place to stay.

It's often hard to please everyone in a group but absolutely every person LOVED this house. I sometimes prefer hotels over renting a home because I like the cleanliness and luxuriousness of a hotel, but this was MUCH better. The towels were extremely fluffy and soft, the beds were like sleeping on a cloud, and they even provided little amenity baskets in each bathroom. Everything was done to the service standards of a hotel but with a much more cozy, homelike feel. It was a perfect house for a group. The dining table is large and there is plenty of kitchen space. They have a lot of kitchen supplies, so pretty much anything you could need will be there. They also have a smart TV in the living room so you can log in to your Netflix/other streaming accounts and not have to worry about renting movies or bringing anything. The pool was absolutely amazing. The beach entry and waterfall made it feel like you were somewhere tropical. It really felt like a vacation sitting outside in this backyard. When we arrived she could not have been nicer and the room was stocked with all sorts of goodies. She offers free wifi and has a great tv with satellite. We woke up to an outstanding breakfast with scrambled eggs, oatmeal, bacon, and guacamole (made fresh from her own avocado trees). Everything from their front gate entrance, to the walkways around the property, to the pool and jacuzzi, everything is so nice. I highly recommend this stay for anyone visiting! The rooms are tiny houses built by Greg himself. He has put all his life experience in design and construction into these homes and they are definitely something to see for yourselves. We stayed at his latest build, The Beach House, which was beautiful! The tiny house is fitted with everything one might need to take a small vacation; two beds, two floors, HDTV with Netflix, bathroom, and full kitchen. There are plenty of little areas between areas that Greg has put in there to allow for storage while still having the little homes feel uncluttered and open-floored. The pool area is so nice! There's a very nice pool lined with a great selection of plants, palm trees, and a small waterfall feature. There's a jacuzzi that you can jump into and enjoy. There is a couple small tables where you might want to sit and eat something, a chimney with firewood already provided by Greg and Michelle, and a BBQ if you want to chuck some steaks on there and grill. So quiet, which is what we needed. The Pool and Spa area are out of a Hawaiian Oasis. Coral Trees are much like the Banyan Trees there. Now there is the 5 star breakfast Michelle makes! We went across the street for riding lessons for the girls. Door dash and instacart work here which was nice. Overral worth it and we would come back. Great for families and adult get a ways. I could see this being great for a wedding or Bachelorette get a way.

I especially appreciated what seemed like local art being used throughout the entire house to tastefully decorate -- without going overboard with clutter. That was well done. But, netting out at almost $800/night increases expectations and so it probably deserves more like 3 or 3-1/2 stars. It was a 3 bedroom home and was ok -- nothing fancy or high-end. So maybe the cost was based on the size? Importantly, what we really believed we were paying extra for that would have been worth the money was the "farm stay" aspect. It may have been a house on a farm property, but it was not a "farm stay experience." The only thing that came close were the animals, but their enclosures were small, cramped, on the side of the road (which was steep and hard to walk on), and the animals did not look healthy or well taken care of. The alpaca's fur was matted up and many of the chickens had bald spots on their backs, potentially due to overcrowding, rooster overbreeding, or aggressively going after each other in such a small space for so many hens (and hopefully not from parasites). It was a side show vs. a real farm experience. Back to the house, another attraction in the listing was the hot tub -- but it had a really horrible smell. The towels we used to dry off with kept the smell too. We used it on the first day, but not afterward. It's a shame. If the hot tub issue were fixed, the property is nice enough, but I do believe it is mis-marketed. It'd probably be very appealing for a bigger group who is visiting the Temecula wine country scene, but who doesn't want to be in the middle of the fray and, instead, wants a quieter location that feels off the beaten path. It should not be marketed as a "farm stay." And the poor animals should definitely go, especially as they feel like such an after thought on the property anyhow.

We just had my daughter's wedding at Dragon Point this week (60 guests. I paid for the additional set up and take down, so when we arrive the day before the wedding the tables, chairs, and arch were already positioned. In the morning, they arrived and set up the plates, glassware, table clothes, etc. That night after the event (they were there the entire time), the did some basic clean up and trash collection along with gathering the linens. Then in the morning they were back at checkout to break everything down. The housing itself was perfect. The three downstairs bedrooms worked for the bridal suite, me and my husband (parents of the bride), and bride's grandmother; upstairs was perfect for the groom and best man and bridesmaids ... for the night before; we switched it up a bit for the wedding. My point is that we had room for the family, including the bride and grooms golden retriever and our shitzu. The sunset pictures were perfect. This venue is exactly what we needed. Oh... the preferred venue list helped a lot. Everyone we chose based on the DPV list was familiar with the venue, reputable, and professional. We loved this! Lastly, Alan was available by cell or email throughout the entire process. So easy to work with and so reassuring.

Took a tour of this venue for our future wedding to see if this was the one. Alas, no, too many…read morepractical issues, but we liked the property, it would cater to some exclusive groups, just misses some marks with us as the space and layout is an issue. But here's my notes on the property: overnight accommodations, great place, only issue would be parking. For 3 days and 2 nights you rent the guest cottage as well as the ballroom/main kitchen and terrace areas of the main house for about $8,500 for all the events. The only thing they would like is to not use both locations for any particular one event. But you can have the rehearsal at either, the wedding/cocktails (pretty much anywhere food or beverage is served) at one or the other, the ceremony at one and Sunday brunch at either. More than likely, it works the best with the cottages being the place for a rehearsal dinner, maybe ceremony, the main house for ceremony and reception, and guest cottages for Sunday brunch. They are flexible on outside vendors, but do have a preferred list. Outside vendors must be insured and licensed. This place reminds me of much of Montecito except Bonsall is re-surging from strictly old rural areas to newer neighborhoods so there are still pockets of rural/horse farms in between nice properties. The view is country hillsides. The roads as of 2012 were undergoing construction. Would have to check back and see what progress has been made to make the trip there more beautiful and to see what Saturday afternoon, Friday evening, Saturday night and Sunday morning traffic would be like. May cost about $2000 to solve the parking issue. Not sure what the costs are going to be for on site transport. Overall the customer service was good, but it definitely seemed for a property that wants to do weddings on an exclusive basis there is way too much DIY costs here to accommodate it. It's just a great house on a tree filled property that originally wasn't meant for events. The layout alone provides conflicts and at first they seemed flexible but as I asked further questions about working around the issues there seemed to be less flexibility. Couple that with the owners living on site and you essentially borrowing their space, it just feels awkward and less exclusive to me. The lose a star for that, but other than is a great property. If you aim low, have a small guest list, your guests won't mind a shuttle or carpooling, can do without a valet, do not mind sharing a property with someone, do not need to accommodate disabilities/elderly much or require more than 2-4 peoples worth of overnight accommodation, you should be fine.
