Unfortunately, I cannot recommend The Dawson based on my experience with management's handling of resident issues.
After living here for nearly five months without incident, my vehicle was towed from the gated resident parking lot after I replaced my temporary license plate with my permanent plate following vehicle registration. The parking system identifies vehicles solely by license plate. Although my vehicle itself had not changed, and I had been a registered resident the entire time, changing the plate effectively caused my vehicle to become "unregistered." It was towed less than six hours later while parked legally in a resident space.
The towing cost me $331.11, plus transportation costs to retrieve my vehicle.
I spoke with the leasing office the following day. Chasity was professional and courteous throughout the conversation, and I made it clear that my frustration was not with the office staff personally but with the company's policies. She elevated my request to management, asking whether they would reimburse or credit the charges as a one-time accommodation given the circumstances. The request was denied.
I then sent a formal email explaining the situation and requesting reconsideration. Four days later, I have yet to receive any response.
This was not a case of unauthorized parking, repeated violations, or abusing guest parking. It was a resident who changed temporary plates to permanent plates, a routine administrative step that resulted in hundreds of dollars in towing fees within hours.
This is also not the first issue I have had with management. For the past two months, charges have continued to appear on my account despite being told they would be removed. Despite multiple assurances, they remain unresolved.
If this is how paying residents are treated over an honest administrative oversight, prospective tenants should be aware before signing a lease.
I will not be renewing my lease. Do not move here. read more
