We didn't know what to expect from the mixed reviews of this haunted attraction but decided to go check it out. We went about 7pm and parking is a bit challenging. We ended up parking a few blocks over on the street and walking over which worked well. We also paid extra to get the immediate access which we highly recommend since we waited a very short time and the general admission line was pretty long. We were very impressed with this attraction overall. The staff kept things well organized and the spacing between parties well timed so they didn't back up on each other. The overall length of the attraction is very long since it is both on the first and second floors of the building (we estimate we were inside at least 45 minutes walking through). The details as you move from one theme room to another is amazing as are the special effects (noises, screaming, etc.), and we thought the mix between live actors and automated props is good since it keeps you guessing what is real and not. The number of different themed rooms is amazing and the room that looks as if you are wading through a swamp is pretty cool. Overall, the price is pretty reasonable and they have a interesting gift store at the end and plenty of static displays where you can get photos. We have been to the new Universal Horror Unleashed attraction in Las Vegas and have to say the details, number of themed rooms, chaotic sound and light effects, length and price of this attraction is far better. Definitely something to visit and experience this Halloween season.

Hands-down, the best haunted house I've ever been to! Ever! There was so much detail put into every room. And for the cost, you get so much for the experience. Takes you about 30 minutes to go through it quickly, but you can definitely take your time. Highly recommend!

The Darkness definitely earned its place on the top 10 list of haunted attractions. We travel the world to visit haunted attractions and came into St. Louis to do all three (Creepyworld, Lemp Brewery, and The Darkness) this year. The Darkness is an incredible haunted attraction that delivers on jump scares, movie quality set and prop design, excellent costumes and makeup, and FANTASTIC theme-ing. It is by far the best haunt in St. Louis. [[I cannot believe the number of reviewers recommending you go to Creepyworld instead. The Darkness is at LEAST 175% better in every conceivable way.]] Side note #2: We bought the pass for all three attractions which also includes Fast Pass. That means $75 for three attractions including fast pass, which is a STEAL! Other haunts' fast pass for one attraction are typically $55-$75. I highly recommend it as you can do any of their houses on any night and skip all the lines. This year (2019), the first haunt you enter is an Egyptian temple theme that was done beautifully. We would have been satisfied with only this. However, at the end of that section, you go upstairs to a haunted house themed section. Gorgeous and wonderful. The clown house at the end is a total bonus as far as I'm concerned! At the end, they have movie memorabilia, horror themed pinball machines, photo ops, and a gift shop. All the staff we encountered were sweet. Everything was reasonably priced. The pinball games were super fun and a great way for the night to not end right away. The only wish I have is that the photo the staff took of me getting jump scared at the end of the temple house was sent to me. Don't walk, RUN to visit The Darkness whenever they're open!

Best haunted house in American. The set design is unreal. It's like you are walking through an elaborate horror movie.

The Lemp Brewery Haunted House appealed to me because of its location. I'd never been in the space…read moreand was wanting to check it out... Even if it would be covered by decor, distorted by light, and filled with people. The $25 price is a little high for what you get. It took us just a few minutes to get through the line to start. We had only about 25 minutes in there. I guess that's a fine amount of time, but another 5-10 minutes would have been all the better. You have to pay to park in the lot. It's only $5, but if you arrive early enough or don't kind a walk, you can just park on the street. I didn't see or hear anything about the Lemps (except for some props). That's probably a good thing--rhey were real people. There were some nods to the Victorian (I suppose) era early in the route. The spiral staircase at the beginning was one of my favorite parts... Because they were old and real. No scare factor there. They let you take photos as long as you don't use a flash. They got a few decent shreiks out of me. Would have had more but my friend walked ahead of me. I won't talk about the parts I liked--no spoilers here. I wish they'd had a bit more variety, though. It was mostly dungeon/undead. I'd have liked some vampires or scary clowns. I did the Darkness a few years ago and that was a bit better. I'd like to try Creepyworld next year. No regrets about going to Lemp, though.

Let me start off with saying the only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is that it feels too short,…read moreespecially for only being $5 less than Creepyworld. We did all three Scarefest attractions in three consecutive days. The Lemp Brewery was our very first night of scares and it was a great way to kick off the weekend. This year the Lemp Brewery Haunted House took on an occult theme, which is not my typical cup of tea, but it was done well. For those not familiar, the Lemp family history is pretty bleak and the Lemp Mansion is said to be haunted. Nearby is the Lemp Brewery, which is where this Haunted House is located. So this attraction is touted as a "real" haunted house. (This is a haunted house attraction, not a ghost tour.) The natural setting is pretty great. When you arrive, large brick grain elevators tower above you. Across the parking lot from the grain elevators is another old brick building, the Lemp Brewery. Once inside you descend down two long stories of spiral staircase until you're underground. This descent helps create a bit of nervous anticipation, paving the way for the scares to come. This haunted house might be short, but it's pretty intense. It does an excellent job of confusing and disorienting through strobe lights, darkness, and hidden doorways. More than once we found ourselves going in circles in the dark unable to find the way out. The logistics: There's a large paid parking lot attended by the attraction's employees. It took about 30 minutes to go through. It's located pretty close to The Darkness, so you could probably do both in one night (assuming it's not too crowded).

We got the fast pass so we didn't have to wait longer than 20 minutes to actually get in. The first 5 minutes of the haunted house was awesome, extremely intense, and scary. They have it dark as hell in there with very little lighting. There are these red lights that is at eye level that is blinding that keeps your eyes constantly out of focus. It was a really nice touch. However...this haunted house is like all the others, they let it too many people at a time with not enough of a gap between. In less than 5 minutes you're with the people ahead of you who caught up to the people ahead of them and it's just one long single file line through where you don't get the scares and it's just annoying. meh...

Walking through the underground haunted house, it was so dark, a little too dark. I was concentrating on trying to find my way through that the monsters, zombies or whatever wasn't a factor. I slammed my hand, busted my knee and wasn't scared at all. I understand that making the experience dark helps the scare factor but it was so dark you couldn't even see what was in front of you or the props they had out. It felt like I was in an old basement trying to find the light switch... With no luck! For $25.00, I should've been scared, uncomfortable or frighten at least once. This sucks balls. I will NEVER come back to this place again.

They have a twilight summer deal where tickets are around $35/person and $20 for basic parking. Parking wasn't an issue because there was practically no one there and we were so close. There is a security check point now. Sad. We got in right away and rode the Batman -- used to be a favorite but all got off and had a headache. Mr Freeze changed back in 2013 where you start in reverse now so you can see yourselves go up that drop and fall. Our lives flashed before our eyes for sure. With no break in between rides I lost my equilibrium and had to sit out for American thunder and the boss. Nothing sold but sugar drinks. We found Powerade at a stand for $5, no lids, no straws. Nothing but sugar and made my headache even worse. The place was bought out by enchanted parks. I've heard mixed things but apparently they will be making changes or adding new rides next year? We shall see!

We only stayed 2 hours as it was hot as hell, there is no shade, most rides/slides were not open, there are no water refilling bottle stations, they did not honor our drink passes or icee passes so we were dehydrated and exhausted from the heat. Pros: the wave pool is cool. Tornado was fun, Big Kahuna was fun. I have Prestige pass so got to park close. Cons: there is no raft lift for the rafts for Tornado. You have to walk a super far distance to the pool and carry a 4 person raft down a long path and up 4 flights of stairs. I was by myself with a 10 year old. I basically dragged the raft down the path and up the stairs. The ride was not busy (when they 1st opened) and the life guard took pity on me and met me down a flight of stairs to help. Typhoon twister and wahoo racer were closed. We rode 1 tube slide each as I did not feel it was worth walking up the stairs to go on the other colors of slides. Rented a locker for $15 and the lockers have hinges that swing them closed so you have to prop something in them to keep it open. The changing area (for women) looks like something out of a horror movie. They say they want you to shower before getting in anything but the showers don't work. The changing stalls have paper thin shower curtains on them that don't close, are ripped or gape. Inside the changing stalls are littered with the hygiene liners from swim suits. So disgusting. The bathroom I used while there was basically the same. Did not go in or on anything other than what is listed above. Would not honor drink passes for regular drinks. Honored my kid's icee pass by just handing them a cup, because they could not figure it out. Had one Icee, drank the water in the bottle we brought and left. Day 2 we went to Six Flags. We have the all season fast pass, so got in, got passes and were off. These rides are on fast pass: 1. Rode Batman. Good ride. 2. Rode Ninja. That was rough. Unless you know how to position your head you will get a headache. 3. Rode River King Mine Train-this is a step above a kiddie coaster. 4. Rode American thunder it was meh. 5.Rode Mr. Freeze and enjoyed it and wanted to ride again but they were not allowing us in with the fast passes so we left. 6. Pandemonium-this says it has fast lane we couldn't find it. It was a short ride and meh. I don't particularly like spinning coasters. 7. Thunder river got soaked which was fine it was hot. 8. Log flume was the saddest log flume ever. It was hard to hold on in the boats and it goes around nothing. Nothing scenic just meandering around water tubes on the ground 9. Screaming Eagle-rode for the nostalgia. 3 generations of my family have rode this ride. It wasn't as rough as we thought it would be. 10. The boss-this was the roughest, most painful wooden roller coaster I have ever ridden. I had bruises all over my legs from being tossed side to side on it. Regret it x a million. 11. Catwoman's whip-best ride of the park. Would have rode a million times but it was higher in the park (walking up hill) it was hot, we had no water, no shade and were too tired to trek up there. Rides that were closed: 12. Justice League-had been looking forward to being out of the sun in the a/c but no joy 13. Spinsanity-we were told it was hit by lightening 14. Shazam (this is a basic scrambler) 15. Sky Screamer 16. Supergirl Sky Flyer Rides we skipped cause it was hot, we don't like that ride style or something similar in our home park: 17. Boomerang (neither of us like this style of ride) The Boomerang we rode at SFDK was ROUGH so we don't want to ride any of these 18. Fireball-this honestly looks like a fair ride. No one was on it 19. Colossus (ferris wheel) 20. The Buccaneer 21. The Joker: Carnival of Chaos We spent about 3-4 hours here and ultimately left because it was hot, lack of shade, only one refillable water bottle station and since 25% of the rides were closed and 4 we had no interest in. Up close parking was amazing. Loved that. I will not be returning to this park as it is now managed by Enchanted and the only reason I visited this year was because it was the last year I could with my SF pass. I remember enjoying coming here as a kid and am not sure if it is just the fact that I grew up, time or life experience that took some of the magic this place once held for me. I don't regret coming but it wasn't the fun experience I had in mind. Also issues with using our drink pass, hardly any where had icees, the one place that did honored the pass but it was the only one we got.
