I probably should rate with 5 stars but since I don't have anything else to compare to I decided on 4 stars. Everything was explained to us (even how to unlock the varied types of locks). There were scares, noises and frightful distractions! This was great family bonding for us to all work together and even tho we didn't finish - we had a few more puzzles to solve but not bad for our first time. We can't wait to try another escape room! We plan on making another trip in the fall and bringing a few of our friends. Definitely recommend!!

It is a reasonable price per person, and you reserve your room online. When you arrive, you fill out a waiver, and Jeff will go through the story premise with you himself. Then you and your group will have 60 minutes to escape the room's puzzles! (although note the room is not actually locked, so one can enter/exit whenever, you just won't "win" until you figure out the last puzzle). I thought the room we did (Egypt) had a good balance of task completions, puzzles, and technology. There is a timer in the room and cameras for monitoring. You are also given a walkie-talkie in the event you need a hint (although each hint costs you your points! but the points don't really matter in the end). I look forward to see what else the Panic Room has in store for Carbondale and think the seasonal rooms are a great idea.

One downside is there were less actors and stretches without any jumping out to scare you. This place was more lit than any other haunted house I have visited, which makes it a little less scary but easier to see the cool props. I think a little background scary music could have added to the vibe. The variety of rooms seemed endless and took almost 30 minutes to walk through at a leisurely pace. The actors did a great job startling me as they jump out sometimes out of nowhere. The spinning tunnel towards the end, one of my favorite part of a haunted house, was not disorienting as others I have seen. It felt like someone had dialed down the scare factor of the whole house a notch. The exit area and gift shop were fun to see. There were lots of photo ops with different scary monster figures and signs to pose by. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2025

We visited Eckert's in Millstadt on a Friday evening with a group of high schoolers, and overall,…read morewe had a really fun night! We live in St. Charles, so it was a bit of a drive, but it was an easy trip, and the signage along the way made finding the location simple. Check-in was super easy. You purchase your tickets on your phone, and everyone just scans in when they arrive. From there, we headed over to find our bonfire site, which was an additional charge. I will say, the bonfire sites were a little lacking compared to what I had envisioned. They're basically a small fire pit in the middle with straw hay bales surrounding it for seating. The description said the site accommodated 25 people, but I honestly think that would be extremely tight with 25 adults. The group at the site next to us definitely had that many people, and they were spilling over into our space. Luckily, our teenagers were coming and going, so it wasn't a huge issue for us, but the sites definitely felt crowded. We could also hear each other's music, so there wasn't much separation between groups. We were allowed to bring in all of our own food and drinks, which was really nice. We roasted marshmallows and hot dogs around the fire, but I do wish there had been a picnic table nearby. Without one, we made several trips back and forth with everything. Thankfully, we had brought a folding table of our own. Another thing to keep in mind is that there isn't any lighting around the bonfire sites. Some people came prepared with lanterns, but we didn't think about that ahead of time, so we relied on our phone flashlights. Definitely something I'd recommend bringing if you plan to reserve a bonfire. Now, onto the fun stuff! We all did the haunted hayride together, and that was definitely the highlight of the evening! I loved when the tractor came out and started chasing us. It was such a fun surprise and got everyone excited. The corn maze was another favorite. It was challenging enough to make it interesting, but thankfully, we managed to find our way out! Having scare actors throughout the maze made it even better. There was also a creepy tractor with eyeballs that reminded me of something straight out of Cars. Just when you thought the scares were over, they managed to throw in two more surprises at the end, including a guy with a chainsaw. They definitely kept us on our toes! There was plenty more to do, too. They had lots of food and drinks available for purchase, along with activities for younger children all the way up to the high schoolers we brought with us. There really was something for everyone. One of my favorite unexpected details was the view. You could actually see the Gateway Arch and the city lights in the distance, but you were far enough away from everything that it still felt peaceful and relaxing. It was a really pretty backdrop for a fall evening. Would we go back? Absolutely! We had a great time, and the haunted attractions were worth the trip. My biggest recommendation for improvement would be the bonfire sites. I think they either need to be spaced farther apart or the capacity should be limited to 20 people instead of 25. Having that many people packed into such a small area makes things feel crowded, especially when neighboring groups are practically sharing your space. A few picnic tables and some lighting around the bonfire areas would also make a big difference. Overall, it was a fun fall experience with plenty of activities, great scares, and a beautiful view of the St. Louis skyline. Just bring your own lantern, plan for a crowded bonfire area, and get ready for that haunted hayride.

We got the fast pass so we didn't have to wait longer than 20 minutes to actually get in. The first 5 minutes of the haunted house was awesome, extremely intense, and scary. They have it dark as hell in there with very little lighting. There are these red lights that is at eye level that is blinding that keeps your eyes constantly out of focus. It was a really nice touch. However...this haunted house is like all the others, they let it too many people at a time with not enough of a gap between. In less than 5 minutes you're with the people ahead of you who caught up to the people ahead of them and it's just one long single file line through where you don't get the scares and it's just annoying. meh...

Walking through the underground haunted house, it was so dark, a little too dark. I was concentrating on trying to find my way through that the monsters, zombies or whatever wasn't a factor. I slammed my hand, busted my knee and wasn't scared at all. I understand that making the experience dark helps the scare factor but it was so dark you couldn't even see what was in front of you or the props they had out. It felt like I was in an old basement trying to find the light switch... With no luck! For $25.00, I should've been scared, uncomfortable or frighten at least once. This sucks balls. I will NEVER come back to this place again.

Let me start off with saying the only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is that it feels too short,…read moreespecially for only being $5 less than Creepyworld. We did all three Scarefest attractions in three consecutive days. The Lemp Brewery was our very first night of scares and it was a great way to kick off the weekend. This year the Lemp Brewery Haunted House took on an occult theme, which is not my typical cup of tea, but it was done well. For those not familiar, the Lemp family history is pretty bleak and the Lemp Mansion is said to be haunted. Nearby is the Lemp Brewery, which is where this Haunted House is located. So this attraction is touted as a "real" haunted house. (This is a haunted house attraction, not a ghost tour.) The natural setting is pretty great. When you arrive, large brick grain elevators tower above you. Across the parking lot from the grain elevators is another old brick building, the Lemp Brewery. Once inside you descend down two long stories of spiral staircase until you're underground. This descent helps create a bit of nervous anticipation, paving the way for the scares to come. This haunted house might be short, but it's pretty intense. It does an excellent job of confusing and disorienting through strobe lights, darkness, and hidden doorways. More than once we found ourselves going in circles in the dark unable to find the way out. The logistics: There's a large paid parking lot attended by the attraction's employees. It took about 30 minutes to go through. It's located pretty close to The Darkness, so you could probably do both in one night (assuming it's not too crowded).

Even if it would be covered by decor, distorted by light, and filled with people. The $25 price is a little high for what you get. It took us just a few minutes to get through the line to start. We had only about 25 minutes in there. I guess that's a fine amount of time, but another 5-10 minutes would have been all the better. You have to pay to park in the lot. It's only $5, but if you arrive early enough or don't kind a walk, you can just park on the street. I didn't see or hear anything about the Lemps (except for some props). That's probably a good thing--rhey were real people. There were some nods to the Victorian (I suppose) era early in the route. The spiral staircase at the beginning was one of my favorite parts... Because they were old and real. No scare factor there. They let you take photos as long as you don't use a flash. They got a few decent shreiks out of me. Would have had more but my friend walked ahead of me. I won't talk about the parts I liked--no spoilers here. I wish they'd had a bit more variety, though. It was mostly dungeon/undead. I'd have liked some vampires or scary clowns. I did the Darkness a few years ago and that was a bit better. I'd like to try Creepyworld next year. No regrets about going to Lemp, though.
