A very basic village type pub. You can eat in, what I call a bar area, or separate restaurant seating, which is brighter. My colleague and I chose the former.
They have the standard basic fayre for a pub, the steaks and the gammon. Their specials' board sports a lamb shank for just over a tenner. Good value for money.
We tend to split the bill.... On the night they had a "roast Dinner", option which was 3 courses.
I had:
French Vegetable Soup (a bt of spice added to give it a bit of a kick.
Roast Pork, with stuffing, and roast potatoes.
In addition they brought out a dish of mashed potatoes, cabbage, carrots and peas. Plus another serving of gravy.
Pudding, I chose chocolate fudge cake with two dollops of vanilla ice cream.
I did point out that there was only one "F" in Trifle. I did expect them to say that they did in fact have more than one available.... Think about it.....
Two pints of Butty Bach bitter 4.5% ABV....very nice.....
Total for my meal and beer: £19.10.
I didn't get any crackling with my pork, dropped them a star..... Well, they can't have everything.... As they said that the Sunday crowd get the crackling.... read more
