Great coffee. Easy parking. Bacon and egg roll was good. Toasted sandwich was average - I think it was on gluten free bread??

Before you scoff at the menu prices at this place you just need to face the fact that not much in…read moreMudgee is cheap. After seeing their beef fillet was $40 I walked to the pub only to find that they wanted $36 for a 'cook-it-yourself' t-bone. So I was glad I came back. For those few extra dollars you get a great restaurant with a great atmosphere and amazing service to match. The wait staff knew a lot about all the wines on the menu and had some great recommendations. I went straight for the beef fillet and finished it in no time at all - perfectly cooked and with a great sauce. Instead of clearing away my plate the waitress said, "I know you didn't have an entree so would you like some garlic bread or sourdough to mop up all the leftover sauce?". Now THAT is service!! I was so happy sitting there mopping up my sauce with crusty bread that I ended up having another wine, an affogato, and then another wine. Like I said at the start - Mudgee is an expensive place for some reason. You're going to get ripped off wherever you go so you might as well go somewhere where the food and service reflect the price that you pay.

Hidden in up a laneway off Market Street this is a great place to escape to on a hot day…read more The outdoor dining area is a narrow little area wedged between two old buildings. Grape vines span the space between the two buildings creating a cool, shaded area in between. The place has a real rustic feel to it and its obviously popular with the locals as it fills up every lunchtime. They do a great Reuben sandwich which oozes out what I swear is a homemade version of McDonalds big mac sauce. One of the best I've had for sure. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor area with water bowls spread around and a few pooches also enjoying a break from the heat on the day I was there. They're only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday night which is a shame as it would be a great dinner venue during the week.

As we were walking around, exploring Mudgee, I spotted a little cobblestone entrance and saw a courtyard covered in vine leaves. We quickly made a reservation for dinner and were not disappointed. We were seated in the courtyard, underneath the vines and there was even a live band playing some soulful tunes. It was absolutely perfect. For dinner we ordered the baked Brie (yes it was as good as it sounds), pumpkin dip with bread and stuffed mushrooms (plenty of vego options available). The food was excellent and we chose some local wine from Mudgee to match. All in all a great atmosphere, wonderful service and great food!
