I went straight for the beef fillet and finished it in no time at all - perfectly cooked and with a great sauce. Instead of clearing away my plate the waitress said, "I know you didn't have an entree so would you like some garlic bread or sourdough to mop up all the leftover sauce?". Now THAT is service!! I was so happy sitting there mopping up my sauce with crusty bread that I ended up having another wine, an affogato, and then another wine. Like I said at the start - Mudgee is an expensive place for some reason. You're going to get ripped off wherever you go so you might as well go somewhere where the food and service reflect the price that you pay.

Grape vines span the space between the two buildings creating a cool, shaded area in between. The place has a real rustic feel to it and its obviously popular with the locals as it fills up every lunchtime. They do a great Reuben sandwich which oozes out what I swear is a homemade version of McDonalds big mac sauce. One of the best I've had for sure. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor area with water bowls spread around and a few pooches also enjoying a break from the heat on the day I was there. They're only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday night which is a shame as it would be a great dinner venue during the week.

Went in on a Sunday with a lot of spare tables so we sat near the back wall where they have a board of arts and crafts with various different types of puppets on the wall (these are available for purchase if you feel inclined). We got the big breakfast and the poached eggs with bacon and avocado. Coffee was good and so was the food, Also got a freshly squeezed juice for the day which was celery, pineapple and orange - very refreshing way to start the day. Overall a great first time experience.
