I really wanted to like this place when I took my youngest daughter for trial class. One of the student teachers was asking my oldest daughter (not even in a trial class) what her sexuality was and the student teacher mentioned she was a pansexual. I'm sorry but that was completely unsolicited and frankly my oldest daughter (11) had no idea what that even was. I don't think that student teacher should be employed there. Our family has been dancing here for a number of years, 3 daughters have enjoyed the time, and when they start back up, the younger two will continue to be apart of this great company. Staff is friendly, patient and accommodating to the needs of their dancers. The shows and costumes are adorable and worth the memories you will have from being here. My daughter was in the 3's/4's class at The Dance Gallery 2 this past year. A couple things I wished I had known before making the year-long commitment: 1. This age group practices just one dance pretty much the entire 45-minute practice (after a structured warm-up). So for the December show, they practice all fall for it. For the June show, they practice January-June on just one dance. My daughter got pretty bored with it quickly. 2. Because she was getting board, I asked if I could move her up to the 4's/5's class. I was told no. She needed to wait to move up with her class the next year (even though she was nearly 5, and the class above her was 4's/5's). 3. We committed to a Saturday morning class at 9:30 am. I didn't realize that come May, there's no more regular classes and they switch to rehearsals only, which were on different days of the week in the evening. Due to other commitments we had made prior to knowing this, it felt like we were paying $65 a month for nothing. It's very apparent that they make efforts to build a strong family-like culture for their dancers, so I overheard many conversations of very happy parents and students. Where your kid shines like a dollar sign. I am so disappointed in this school especially after investing three years of endless fees in this place. Since the first year my daughter looked forward to getting the three year trophy and recognition. She told me after the year one she can't wait to get that at the end of the year performance. Well the moment was finally here. My daughter worked hard and went to the rehearsals and was excited to finally get recognized for her three years there. They bring out all of the three year dancers to start the show and guess what, my daughter wasn't there. I quickly got up and went to one of the staff members who was working the front. I said "hey, they are handing out three year trophies, why isn't my kid up there? " She said, "she never turned in the paperwork, we sent home paperwork" I told her I never got paperwork. She said "well we can give it to you next season and do it next year." I was so upset by this response. Now to understand how hurt I was, the same group of people that said they never got her paperwork are the same exact people that call me the very next day if they had not received the tuition dues. They could have called me to say hey we noticed we don't have your daughters recognition forms or better yet, keep track of it yourself. If you wanna recognize dancers, do so and not rely on the fact that a parent had to return paperwork. Also, my daughter back stage had to watch these girls get recognized four times as they had to perform four times over the weekend knowing she should have been out there too. Her moment was taken from her. And instead of trying to fix it and put her on stage the other three times, and handle the details later, they just let her down. I went back to my seat angry and upset but my youngest daughter was about to perform so I wanted to clear my head and watch and record it. I had started recording it when I was told that I was unable to record. I told the guy I pay way to much money to not record. He said he understands but he can't allow me to record that if I wanted to I can purchase a copy of the show. They won't let you record your kid after the hundreds of thousands of dollars you spend on costumes rehearsals, rehearsal fees, yadda yadda yadda because they again wanna make more money off of your kid by sailing CDs!!! The part that bothers me the most is that after three years, nobody contacted me to address my concerns after I left them three messages. I left these messages in June. As I write this, it is October and still no contact. So hopefully they see this. Another small issue was when you pay for rehearsal fees you get a very small amount of tickets(2 per kid) so if you want relatives to come they have to pay full price $15 a person. I left two tickets at will call for my daughters mom and they still charged her for two tickets. I also never received their photos that I paid for. Deeply hurt by the way myself and my daughter were treated. Steer clear from this place unless you don't mind someone profiting hugely on your kid read more

I was so underwhelmed by my daughter's experience at DG2. The pros are the cost is reasonable, the location worked for me, and the Saturday early classes were nice and did not impact family time. My daughter was five when she took classes here. She is now seven. She is vivacious, has a HUGE personality and was there to have fun and learn. Which were my expectations as well. She had fun. But there was NO teaching. They line the kiddos up and just dance in-front of them. No instruction. None. I had numerous conversations with Ms. Lucy (who corrected me that her name was in fact Ms. Lucy and not Lucy) to which her direct email response, "so much of the basic language and movement could be new and unfamiliar. Many of the students in the class started in September. This could be a little overwhelming for the new student in the classroom and that is one of the reasons why we place so many instructors in each class. " Yes, there are "instructors" that are sharing words and doing the dances in front of them yet no one ever instructs. We don't intend on being dancers, so no big deal. If you are seeking instruction to assist with learning how to dance, DG2 is not the place to start. Maybe down the line, but not in the beginning. read more

When we were looking for a Dance studio, we were pointed to DG2. We are so glad! The teachers are amazing, kind and encouraging. They meet every dancer where they are at and make them better. We have only Dance albeit briefly at one other studio, but the amount of rehearsal time prior to the studios "It's Showtime" production in the spring is incomparable for a non-competitive studio and it shows! Such a professional production! My little dancers really fee like stars. The only thing that drives me crazy is that in May the usual dance schedule gets thrown out the window and a new schedule is implemented and it can conflict with other commitments. It's a pain, but it really is worth it in the end. read more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DG2!!! I started my daughter there about a year ago in the beginning ballet class. She love love loved it! She has so much fun. Lee urged me to join the adult Jazz class but I told him that I wasn't looking to do Jazz since I'm a former ballet dancer. I saw my daughter and the other dance classes in their performance and the adult classes were so cool. I told Lee that night that I would be joining adult Jazz. I seriously couldn't be more pleased with DG2 as a whole. ADULT JAZZ IS FOR ALL SKILL LEVELS and their adult tap is for advanced tap dancers. Watching Tap class practice is literally the coolest thing I've seen. Those women are so talented. The instructors are super nice, understanding, friendly, comforting and always willing to work with you on anything you don't quite understand. I'm a perfectionist so I have the most random questions when it comes to dance moves and they go over it with me as much as I need to understand. The adults, teen helpers and the kids are all so friendly and willing to help and really make you feel welcome. I've been part of lot of dance programs from age 4 to 31 (now) and I couldn't be happier with DG2. They are the best group of people I've ever danced with and what a workout too. read more

I'm so happy of my decision to have my daughter join ballet/tap at the Dance Gallery 2. The teachers Ms. Amber and Ms. Lucy are experts and they really study dance you just trust what they are doing and the teaching has been so effective my daughter who has never had any dance experience seems to pick up all the moves so fast and easily. There's great repetition and so much one on one teaching! Honestly, the student teachers that help aid are all so valuable to this process and I'm thankful to have all that here and I genuinely feel no where else can compare. I am recruiting family and friends whom I know are as picky as I am when it comes to quality and genuine care. We just had a fall costume festival for family and friends and now my family is excited about this place because everything I've been raving about is all really true. Life gets busy but we stay informed bc they send text/email memos and we appreciate every bit! Thank you so much, this is a great investment to teach my daughter the skills she needs to succeed like being disciplined and well rounded and we've noticed this place helps bring the community together as well, just so grateful for this dance gallery beyond words. read more

Last night was my first night at the adult jazz class at the DG2. They were unbelievably welcoming and warm, and more than exceeded my expectations! I danced for about 10 years in my younger years, and im so glad i chose to start again 8 years later at the DG2! The Dance Gallery 2 is the best dance studio!! My 17yr old daughter and I have been part of DG2 for 10yrs now. And my 4 yr old daughter is going to begin this dance season. We are very exited. I love The Dance Gallery 2! I have been a dancer here for many years! The experience I've found at this dance studio is unlike any other. Students have many opportunities to be part of something special, from being part of a professional production to dancing in Disneyland Parades. The close knit family feel brings something extra to the whole experience. As a child dancing here, in addition to learning about dance, I gained self confidence. We came here, hoping that my step daughter could enroll in their "hip hop" class on Friday nights. It was quickly decided that this was not going to happen. My 11 year-old SD has never danced before, other than jumping around the house to the latest pop song - and this was communicated to Miss Lucy when I called initially to inquire. I was told that this was just fine, it was a new class so lots of beginners. So, we show up on a Friday night after calling ahead to ensure that there was still room. First let me say that this place is in the middle of nowhere - seriously. Which, if I had bothered to look at a map, I would have realized, but I didn't... I said to myself "Baseline - I know where that is - no problemo." Yeah, well, it's about 30 minutes from Douglas & Sierra College, which came as a surprise to me. So we show up, watch the break dancing class that is wrapping up and then I let the guys know that we're there and what do we need to do? Nothing! Just fill out the paperwork and let her have fun! So, that's what we intended to do. The guy who taught the hip hop class was the same guy teaching the break dancing class and he could dance, but what he couldn't do is teach. He put together a bunch of moves, ran through them a few times - QUICKLY - and then moved on to the next set of moves, expected the kids to pick up on it. Of the seven students there, I think only two of them got it - one of them had some dancing shops and the other had some personal assistance from another instructor. My SD was ALL THE WAY ON THE END and got ZERO personal attention, even though the instructor KNEW it was her first class. The girl who clearly had been doing dance for some time picked up on his moves alright, but he let her stay right in front, in the middle and she seemed to set the tone for the class and got all of his attention. As most any 11 year-old would be who was doing a dance class for the very first time, my SD felt self conscious and didn't want to have to ask for clarification or help. She did not like the class, it was not fun for her and she had no desire to go back. It seemed like the instructor's priority was to show off his own dance skills - great, if that's what you wanna do, go for it, but it didn't work for us and I cannot understand how it would ever work for a beginning dance student. I would not recommend this studio for anyone who wants to learn to dance. read more

We heard about the Dance Gallery 2 from a friend of ours and considered signing our daughter up for classes (I grew up in the area and knew exactly where it was). Our daughter is two and absolutely LOVES to dance. So I thought, why not?! At our first class I watched and observed the teachers and was very happy with how patient the teachers were and how they really encouraged to have fun. The studio was clean, price was affordable and staff was professional and friendly. You can really feel the family vibe and that they truly care about their students. We love DG2! read more

DO NOT come here if you actually want to learn something. Every year it's the same thing, flap ball change flap ball change... The student teachers are all rude and think they own the studio when they don't even know what they're doing themselves. The director, Mrs Lucy, only humiliates you in front of the whole class instead of helping you improve. The shows in June look super cool and professional with the effects, but the choreography is amateur and lame. It would've been a great studio if you were taught past a single pirouette with your arms in an ACTUAL first. read more

My niece has been dancing at DG2 for several years now and absolutely loves it! I have taken her to quite a few classes and am always so impressed. The studio is very clean, the staff are professional, and everyone treats each other like family. The classes are really organized and structured. At one of the practices the director of the studio, Ms. Lucy, came out and you can tell that she takes her business seriously. She has a true passion for what she does. The main show every June is absolutely amazing. The lighting, the stage setup, the costumes, the dances are all perfect. They don't skimp out, that's for sure... I can't imagine the time and effort put into it. If you're considering enrolling your child or even yourself into a dance class, I would highly recommend checking this studio out. Dance gallery 2 is one of the best things that anyone can be a part of. The friendships you make and the team you get to be a part of is wonderful. I dance here at this studio and I love it. It feels so good to be part of something that teaches you such great lessons. Teamwork, dedication, and effort are just a couple things that I have had more experience in while dancing here. I have/am also part of the Jr Student/Student Teacher program. As both I have learned a lot of responsibility. It's such a great feeling to get the opportunity to dance with younger students who look up to you and are excited to see you each week. DG2 is such an awesome environment & I hope everyone gets just as lucky as I have been to dance somewhere like this. read more
