The Dance Center is West Chester's premiere dance studio that has trained dancers since 1974. Over 65 classes on our schedule are offered. Pre-Dance Division - ages 3,4 and 5,6 ~ 2 levels of training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop. Elementary Division - ages 7 to 11 ~ 6 levels of training in Ballet, Pointe, Pointe Preparation, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Stretch & Conditioning. Pre-Professional Division - ages 12 to 18 ~ 4 levels of training in Ballet, Pointe, Variations, Partnering, Lyrical, Contemporary Jazz, Hip Hop. Performing Opportunities year-round with the Brandywine Ballet Company and Brandywine Contemporary Company. Over 100 students from our school have gone on to professional ballet and contemporary companies across the United States. Too numerous to mention are the hundreds of students who have gone on to earn scholarships at leading dance colleges and universities. History
Established in 1973.
Our performing arts facility is a beautiful 11,000 square foot space which includes 3 state-of-the-art dance studios, a complete dance supply shoppe, comfortable waiting area, convenient parking, and air conditioning. Professionally constructed basket-weave dance floors with marley surface have put the final touch on our custom studio space. Our largest studio, 2,000 square feet, is constructed on 3,000 foam springs which make for an excellent, safe surface for professional dancers and students to train daily.
Meet the Business Owner: Donna M.
Ms. Muzio has been the Director of The Dance Center for 39 years. Her unequaled dedication to her school, students, instructors, and her unique, thorough teaching style have brought The Dance Center the reputation as one of the top pre-professional and widely respected training institutions in the tri-state area. While consistently working to develop and improve the Vaganova curriculum as it applies to her school, Ms. Muzio continues to teach classes and mentor students, while implementing concise, structured classical schedules for her school and company to follow. As a result of this hands-on approach, The Dance Center continues to be one of the most current, successful dance schools attracting talented, serious students who are seeking a classical ballet base, along with a challenging, varied performing experience.
