The Immersive Van Gogh Experience is definitely worth it. Absolutely loved it. Not sure how long it will be at Tower so go check it out if you haven't been yet. It's $35 and assuming you take the time to soak it all in, it will take about an hour. Be patient and watch all the moving pieces and read the placards. When you get to the big room, take a seat or lay down and enjoy the beauty unfolding. And color your own art at the end. This is such an incredible way to experience Van Gogh's art and I highly recommend it. read more

Checked out "Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience" from seeing all the promos around the net. It was a unique technological experience. In the late afternoon on Saturday, decided to purchase the basic ticket online for $49.90 and took myself on a solo date to The Tower Theater. The staff had some technical difficulties finding my ticket in their system when I arrived, but eventually they found it. Before you go into the experience, you can grab a drink, which I did. I went for the "The Van Gogh". It was a very light cocktail, and I wasn't expecting much from it. It was interesting to read some of Van Gogh's life and to see his paintings in a moving visual or in a 3D dimensional type of way. Afterwards, you can color one of his paintings with medium sized crayons and/or do the virtual reality (which I did not purchase). I think the price for the weekend was way too expensive for what was offered. The entire experience was decent. Also, was able to find nearby street parking and downloaded the needed app for meter parking. read more

This is my first time at this local theater joint for the Van Gogh experience. The venue is set up really well and there is good flow of the crowds. We went for the 7 PM showing and they closed around 830, so it was a bit tight. I would recommend having at least two hours to enjoy the whole thing. The art was really interesting and seeing the projections come together from different museums in a thematic fashion was very thoughtful. Of course the room at the end with all of the productions with the music and lighting changes was probably the most memorable part of this exhibit. Looks just like it did an Emily in Paris, but better with music. We did not try the VR experience for the additional five dollars, as I felt that having already spent nearly $50 it wasn't particularly worth it to me. Instead we chose to spend more time in the room with projections. However other reviews have good thoughts on that VR, so if you are a VR fanatic that may be for you. read more

A cool venue with room to roam. We went for our first visit to see the virtual Van Gogh experience. The staff was extremely friendly and they handled socially distancing perfectly during the pandemic. The tickets allowed you ample time to enjoy each exhibit. My favorite part was the 3d experience which told the story of his life while scenes of his famous paintings covered the entire room allowing you to escape to an alternate reality. Loved every second and can't wait for my next show. read more

I highly recommend the Van Gogh Experience at the Tower Theater! It is a beautiful visual masterpiece that combines the works of art of Van Gogh with technology to bring them to life! We spent about two hours at the experience, most of which was in the main room where all four walls surround you with moving artwork accompanied by relaxing music, quotes from Van Gogh and narrative about his life. I feel like I honestly could have watched the loop multiple times! We also did the VR experience, which is only a $5 add on. I also recommend this. It puts you into a virtual walking tour of the landscapes from which Van Gogh was inspired for his painting. You sit in a chair that can spin if you so choose (which I recommend at several points turning around to see the stunning landscape behind you). Very cool! If you get the ParkMobile app, or use parkmobile.com, parking is easy too. We parked right on the side street of the theater (Ludlow) and used the metered parking from our phones. Did the Van Gogh immersive experience here and it was pretty good. We arrived at1030am on a Thursday. You can book times but the exhibits run continuously and you can stay as long as you want. I think the bar might be open for later showtimes. I had not been back to the Tower Theater in over 40 years and a few memories came back from shows seen in olden days. We parked one block away in the 69th street shopping parking area. No charge. Very convenient. Safety is paramount in the theater and we were asked for proof of vaccination or of a negative test - we are vaxxed so it was all good. The staff are all simpatico. Everyone was masked up and each exhibit room was curtained at entry and exit. The virtual reality exhibit was fun too, and all was neat and clean. We learned a few things about the artist during the visit that we had not previously known. None of his paintings were sold when he was alive. The entire exhibit was very enjoyable and I suppose because of the time we went it was not crowded at all and we had plenty of time to enjoy the whole show at our leisure. I went here to check out the Van Gogh exhibit and it was amazing! Peaceful, beautiful, highly recommend!! There's lots of street parking outside (bring quarters -2 hours max at a time) but we were there on a Wednesday morning) It takes less than 2 hours to walk through and sit through the full projections. It's a lot of fun. That projection room is great, could sit in there all day, you learn alot about Van Gogh as well. The gift shop has some cute items. We did the virtual reality experience which was fun. There was someone working that took our picture in the bedroom exhibit and also in that same area someone serving hot tea which was nice. read more

Went to the Van Gogh experience in Winter 2021. It was pretty neat. The parking was not awful for me as I was able to park on the a side street but I could see it being a challenge for the vast majority. You must bring quarters as I didn't see any digital meters. The area is a bit rough but I did see security. Inside the exhibits are just good. Nothing too crazy a few pictures here or there and some 3D visuals. The large room with all the projections is a collage/timeline of all of his work displayed in an interactive format. It was neat and different. The exhibits are setup in a way were if you take photos standing in a certain position it appears as if you are a part of the artwork. read more

This venue has a LOT of issues. First, it is far from any highway, and requires driving miles and miles on surface streets with super slow lights block after block. When you finally arrive, there is no place to park. Well there is, but it's just about impossible to drive there, due to one-way streets and traffic jams. If you get out of your car, you are blasted by a guy on a bull-horn telling you the theater has a "zero tolerence policy on cell phones." Because Live Nation is happy to sell you tickets on your cell phone (100% tolerence to reach in your pocket and extract your money) and happy to issue your tickets on your cell phone (far cheaper for them) but insistes they have a "zero tolerence policy." Right. Yeah. Cause that makes sense in 2018. So you get inside, with your cell phone off and in your pocket, and the aisle guard troll says your seat is down the aisle and on the right. Ok but where? "Down there." And you stumble forward into the dark. Is there an usher? "Yes somewhere" Probably sitting in your seat, which you can't possibly find cause it is PITCH BLACK. Now you could find it if you could use your phone, but you can't due to the super smart and customer friendly zero tolerence policy. Joseph Heller could write a novel about this place. Terrible, terrible, terrible job Live Nation!! Absolutely terrible. read more

Not located in the greatest area but once you are inside; Its really a nice quaint venue. We just attended the Cat Stevens concert and the crew did a great job with the set. Of course it was a set of a "train station". Great job! The venue is a perfect size and has a great sound. Would def attend another concert here. The restroom had an attendant. Kept clean. I actually wasn't here to see a show but came to one of the parties hosted here. For the amount of people that showed up the place stayed surprising clean and there weren't too long of lines at the bathroom or the bar. But no matter how hard the staff worked to keep everything clean there's no hiding that this place has really gotten run down and shabby over time. If someone invested money this could really be restored to a great architectural asset to the city. Other than that the staff was all nice and helpful. Drinks were as expected: not strong and over priced, but everyone knows to pregame. The music and acoustics were great and while it was packed I'm glad that they didn't oversell the show and just try to cram as many people inside as possible. read more

I want to preface this by pointing out that I strongly prefer standing concert venues. If you like to sit down and tap your fingers to the music, this is probably the spot for you. I, on the other hand, like a smaller, cozier space where the crowd stands and jumps together. Seeing a concert at Tower is more like seeing a show, rather than enjoying the entire concert experience. I generally do not like dishing out $40 to sit down, unless I'm eating. My friends and I were four of maybe 10 people in the whole audience who were standing and dancing, while everyone else looked like they were either watching a Shakespeare play or about to fall asleep. Tower's seats are uncomfortable to sit in for too long. But there's also not enough space to stand up and dance around unless you move to the aisle. But then security doesn't allow you to move up the aisles. The back half of seats are rather far from the stage, making it difficult to see the individual musicians. I can't even imagine the view from the second floor balcony/mezzanine... The sound is decent though. The place looks nice, especially the lobby, but that's not a huge factor for me in regards to concert venues. As a student, I greatly appreciate that Tower is near 69th St Station, as it is pretty convenient for public transportation, albeit extremely west. I go to many concerts, and I often decide to skip some of my favorite artists that play at Tower since I know I will not enjoy the experience (whereas I go see artists I barely know at TLA because of the venue style). I brought my international roommate who has never seen a concert before, and she didn't enjoy her experience at all. She didn't understand why I go to concerts until I took her to a show at Union Transfer, but we both don't like to sit down while watching concerts. It all comes down to that! read more

The Tower Theater is one of many "Movie Palaces" built in the 1930-60 era. These theaters were all over, very accessible to transit and had an air of opulence about them. Since the rise of the automobile, many of these theaters were either converted to multi-plexes, converted to other use or, sadly, destroyed. The Tower is one of those re-purposed palaces. It was a single screen Theater until the 70s and was a shadow of its' grand self. It was converted to a live music venue by 1980ish. This is where I first experienced the place, seeing the Police on their first US tour before they were mega-famous, Billy Idol, The Eurythmics. Great shows all of them. The Theater? It had seen better days. Peeling plaster, rickety seats, worn carpet. Fast forward more than 30 years, my first visit since high school. With trepidation. FDC and I headed there to catch s great show - Elvis Costello. We see immediately that the Tower has been returned to its' beautiful origins. No more peeling, rickety, worn out. Yay! The sound is great for the venue size, and everyone has a good view of the stage. The seating slope is traditional grade, meaning a gentle slope. That also means when someone in front of you stands up, all you see is them. There is no stretching your neck to peer over them. You just wait until they move out of the way. Food is typical concession fare, and at concession prices. They do serve alcohol. I'd definitely go again. It's fantastic to see one of these grand places not only survive, but thrive. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to the Tower Theater to see The Offspring. As far as theaters as music venues go, it isn't the worst and I generally had a great time. I appreciate the history of this theater, the acts who have played here before and the acts that come here now, some big names come here and it's nice to drive to Upper Darby then into Philly/Camden somewhere. I sat in the general admission seating area on the lower level and if you get there early enough you can have your pick of where to sit. I sat in the middle section and the views of the stage were perfect! The sound wasn't bad either. As far as food/drinks they were decent and it can be a bit pricey but that's the norm for any concert at any venue. The bathrooms were located down a flight of stairs (the mens were at least) and seemed a bit small but it was constantly moving to avoid any waits. The only problems I had was there seemed to be a bit of a delay. Doors were at 7 and they started getting people in at quarter after, and the opening act was on time but The Offspring started late half past 9. Without the delays, it was still a very solid experience and I would definitely visit again for another concert. read more

So, we had left side Balcony Row A aisle seats for the Brian Wilson / Zombies show. When we arrive at the venue, there is a line for the people with balcony seats where they are exchanging the balcony seats for random tickets throughout the venue. Apparently they did not want to pay to have ushers and staff on the balcony level for the non-sold out concert. So where do we get stuck, you ask? In obstructed view sitting behind the mixing board. Before this past weekend I hadn't been to the Tower Theater in yeeeeeeears! I had forgotten how great it is here...well, the sound, views and vibes, that is. I tend to not really consider heading to shows here strictly because of its location and the distance from center city (not that it's that far, in just stubborn about things like this), BUT it does have a few really great, key things going for it as I mentioned above. There's also free, ample street parking after 9pm and cheap quarter meter parking until then. Because of this, there isn't a lot scene or tailgating, which may not matter to some and depending on the show, it doesn't matter to me either. There truly isn't a bad seat in the house, even in the last rows, and the acoustics are actually fantastic. Much better than a lot of other local venues! The theater has a vintage, regal feel to it with rotunda seating and beveled crown molding. It's rather lovely. I would even call it a 'diamond in the rough' For any groupies out there, the tour bus is parked basically at the front entrance, so chances of seeing your favorite artists (or maybe even hanging out on their tour bus...I may or may not be speaking from experience) are better than here at most venues. Very cool! Beside the sketchy neighborhood, which I, even attending concerts alone back in the day, have never had an issue with (so don't let that deter you), other negatives would be the sticky floors, expensive booze (both kinda a regular thing at concert venues in general) and the disorganization while trying to find your seat. (You could wait in line at one door into the actual theater only to be told it's the wrong entrance for your seats, causing you to have to wait in another line). Grab one of those experience drinks (basic mixed available in single and double or usual draft beers...lager, Blue Moon etc) and just keep calm and go with the flow. There is pretty tight security these days (bag checks, hand held metal scanners and staff hired to keep you from videoing if the performer requests), but nothing overpowering or intimidating. Overall, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives for me. Bring a little patience for before the start of the show and don't forget your quarters for parking and you'll be just fine. Off the top of my head I've seen Train, Rusted Root, The Wiggles (Mom life), Ratdog and Jewel here. All were great experiences with little to no complaints. I'll surely be back!! read more

I've been here a few times for a few different types of performances. All you really need to know is it is cramped as hell and is worse than flying on a plane. However, it's tolerable for a couple hours if you're seeing something or someone you enjoy. Everything else is the same as any other venue - beverages are super expensive and the lines for the bathrooms are usually ridiculous. Parking is only $10.00, so that's actually not bad. Finally, after 43 years, I got to experience the Tower Theater for a show. I can't believe I waited so long. Basically, the history of the room is tremendous. The acoustics were wonderful. The intimacy was special. I saw Ringo Starr with his All-Star Band, so to see a Beatle in this room was special. It was even more special to see Todd Rundgren come home to Upper Darby, and he told great stories about coming here as a kid. Yeah the seating is cramped. Yeah leaving the place gets cramped at he exit. There were a lot of old concert goers bitching and moaning on the way out, including some lady in her 40's actually kicking a closed door in the lobby in anger and two guys almost coming to blows in front of me as we were packed like sardines. They must not get out much. It's not comfortable or convenient. But you can't beat the history and the experience once you're inside. read more

Wow, I haven't been here in at least ten years and this was the first time I've been here sober... I should have been drinking though... I foolishly bought my wife seats to Dancing With the Stars... and she asked me to go with her... Shockingly, I never realized how nice this place looked, probably because I was always so drunk for whatever show I was seeing. There is nothing better than driving into Upper Darby until you see the Tower Theater sign glowing in the sky. This place is conveniently located by 69th street station and there is plenty of parking nearby. We got there early and we found some street parking a block or two away. I spent maybe a dollar-fifty to park... Leaving the venue is a nightmare. This legendary venue was built in the 1920's, so everyone is pretty much leaving the same way. Bathroom lines were long, but on Dancing with the stars night, the men's room wasn't that bad... Interesting... I think I've only ever sat upstairs in the balcony, but this time we sat up front. Great view, acoustics were perfect and just a fun night. read more

After reading some of the other reviews I am left with the impression that: Concert goers of today are scare-di-cats and they want to arrive at the last minute and have everything open for them like Moses at the Red Sea. Went to Utopia last night with my 16 year old. Arrived in town at 6:30, refused to pay the $20 for the lot behind the venue and ended up parking on the street, no meter, on Hitchfield avenue behind the old parking garage. It is a residential neighborhood and we were safe, no heebie jeebies. Then had some delicious pizza at Leandros, 4 slices, 3 with pepperoni, one without, $8.25. Gobbled slices, walked down the street picked up the tickets at the Will Call, tolerated being groped, and at the bar for a drink by 7:10, band came on at 7:13. Seating is a bit tighter on the second level. Was upgraded to the VIP section after talking with charming and attractive Laura. Must do at some point in the future. The VIP seating not Laura, although....................... 24oz Laguanitas = $14, bit of an ouch but come one, you are at a concert. At least it wasn't Budlite. 5 minute walk back to the car, on State Street in 5 more. In and out was easy, no UBER needed you timid, unadventurous, millennials. Stop being such ninnies. Lots of public transportation options available. $20 all in tickets for the show. Nice night of entertainment for two for less than $70. When you read the review just before this in the timeline, you will realize the kid must have been raised in a plastic bubble. SOFT SOFT SOFT. Did I say SOFT yet? read more

What used to be a great place to see a show just isn't anymore. They used to have decent seats but apparently just ripped them off the floor and replaced them with folding chairs. Not only that, but they're all misnumbered leading to confusion with people arguining over their seats. Case in point, my ticket was for Orchestra Right KK-121. Turns out that I was sitting in LL-125 because the number on the seat was off by four and I didn't see the white sign they taped to the chair indicating that the row was one closer to the stage. But it doesn't matter, it seems, because when you go see a rock show, everyone stands up.... so if you have back pain and wanted a comfortable chair to sit in for a few hours, you're out of luck.... both because the seats are less comfortable than they were years ago and because the floor is not at a steeper angle so that you can't sit down unless you only want to hear what's going on. And since I don't have a handicapped placard or anything, I can't really get handicapped areas since I can't really afford to go to the doctor to get seen for it.... so I guess if you're older and in pain, you better off just staying home.... or if you're not a fan of arguining over "you're in my seat...." "no, I'm not....." then having to flag down an usher who is about as confused as you are..... The rest of you.... go have a great time. Oh, and don't order the Blue Moon beer because they forget to put the slice of orange in it. read more

I'm generally mixed on all the ticket master venues and this is no exception. The tickets can be extremely overpriced but the bands that generally play here can be extremely worth it. If you've already seen a band playing here, then chances are you've already had better concert experience the last couple of times you saw them than here will provide you. and since it only seats about 3000 and houses some pretty well known bands getting tickets can be a near impossibility without Craigslist/Ebay/scalping. so it's usually not always worth it. The seats are great when there close to the stage. otherwise the view can kind of suck. then again I might be biased since I don't like seated concerts in general. I caught Interpol here last Thursday night. This was my first visit to the Tower Theater. The theater has seen better days and reminds me of my old high school auditorium. Seats are the old wooden type and they're very cramped for this day and age. The owners should throw a little love back into the building and update that seating. That would be my only real complaint with the place. The staff was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the people working the door and lobby all the way to the ushers. Top notch all the way. The area in which the theater resides, Upper Darby, is a little on the run down side but manageable. We were parked about 5 blocks and parking ran $10 which isn't bad for the city. However I'd say the more people in your group the better while walking in some parts. read more

If your handicap or have breathing issues don't go here there aren't any handicap amenities here,no elevator or escalator, no handrails when you get to the nosebleed seats either. The sad thing is they don't care, it should be listed that we are not handicapped accessible or ADA COMPLIANT . When I demanded my money back. Dang, this place is far. Okay, I live in central Jersey. But still, I had no idea it would take so long to get to Upper Darby after glancing at Google Maps. Oh wait, it was actually Apple maps...no wonder! Anyway, regardless of the commute, Tower Theater is a really cool place to see a show outside of the other Philly concert venues. Starting with the old school, black and white marquee out front, to the slanted lobby, to the concession area ($8 beer, decent selection) and into the theater itself with the old style auditorium seating (which doesn't matter once the show starts and everyone is on their feet), you can just feel the the history of numerous artists and groups who have played on the stage over the past 30 years. The sound was great, not distorted and not too loud, and the view from Left Center to the stage was perfect. Lastly, parking was a cinch, only a block away on Market Street at metered space for just a few quarters. Side Note: Silversun Pickups were awesome! Atlas Genius was a good opening act, but the second band was one of the worst things I've ever heard in my life. read more

It was my first time at the Tower tonight after living in or near Philadelphia my entire life (to see Ben Folds!). I was quite pleased that I didn't have to walk more than a block from 69th street terminal to get there. It's convenient (I guess being more central to the city in the first place would be even more convenient, but it's worth the trip). The outside marquee is so charming. It really makes you feel like you're back in the 40s when it's all lit up at night. The staff is friendly and show you to your seat. It's pretty nice sized inside. All seated (which I sort of like because then I don't have to worry about being early to fight my way to a good spot). There's an upstairs balcony section too, that seemed a little nosebleed-like. It doesn't have quite the same grandeur as other older venues like The Trocadero, but it's still pretty with a huge stage. The sound is pretty good. I didn't get any food or drink but it seemed like they had cocktail waitresses coming into the actual concert hall to take orders (you can bring drinks in here, which I was really surprised because of the chance of spillage/underage drinking. All in all, a cute venue that was big without losing the personal touch that I look forward to seeing more shows at in the future. read more

Went to see Cory Holcomb comedy show here last night and my fiancé and I had an awesome time. We purchased our tickets off Groupon for a really great price & they scan your tickets off your phone at the door. Only thing I would suggest is come early to make sure you get a good parking spot ...we parked on a local neighborhood street which was close. They do not have a parking lot. Another option is to uber/lyft or catch the market frankford line that drops you off right at the theater. Also the seats are not that spacious so if your tall or have some weight to you they will be uncomfortable so make sure you get front row seats. We sat in the left orchestra in row S (pic attached). View wasn't bad at all! All the staff I talked to were nice and accommodating. read more

This place is old. I'm starting with this because the last time I came here (maybe around 2011) my parents heard that I was going to a show here and said something to the effect of - that place is a dump. Honestly ... it kind of is. It's not in a great area and it gets very congested. The place is old and it is very apparent that it hasn't been updated in many years. I went the other night for a comedy show and part of the one comic's act was making fun of the place - so you know it's bad. First of all it has an old smell, it smells super musty. When we first got there for our event it was gated off and there was a ton of staff outside - although it was not apparent that they were staff - no identification. I totally thought they were ticket scalpers. But they were staff and directed us inside to the tiny lobby where our bags were checked and we got patted down. The staff was super nice ! Not at all mean and did not make us feel uncomfortable. They were very friendly. Upon going through security your tickets got scanned before entering the lobby. To the left is a bar with drinks and food, and to the right is the doors to the stage. All bathrooms are down stairs and it has that feeling of going down to an old church basement - you totally know what I'm talking about. The bathrooms were clean, old but clean and pretty spacious. We then got seated we were on the lower level in the center so we had normal seats. They were cushioned but some of the seats around us were obviously broken. In the front they had folding style chairs so I'm glad I didn't sit up front. There is a balcony which is where I sat last time and even though the venue is rather small it makes you feel very far away. It's a decent venue if it's the only one where your event is taking place - but otherwise don't go. Or maybe we can all boycott for it to be refinished. It's honestly a shame how neglected it is. read more

We saw Death Cab at Tower Theater on Oct 10. The parking was in a sketchy parking garage on the murder level with no lights. We then walked through dark alleys to get to the venue. The lobby was super crowded and not at all organized. But we were pleasantly surprised at the theater itself. I love the acoustics in these old theaters, and you can feel the music. We had a great view of Death Cab, and there was a bar right outside our seating. It was a fantastic show. We felt a little safer returning the garage where we might get murdered since everyone left at once. But we almost hit 2 people thanks to the pitch black, no lighting in the garage. If only they could pick up Tower Theater and move it to an area where you won't get killed. read more

Back to the Tower for Musiq Soulchild and the fabulous Lalah Hathaway. Two stellar artists with phenomenal backup singers and bands. Music tight- vocals on fleek (fantastic). I see other reviews on here that rate the venue, but the acoustics are good and it can hold a crowd (Over 1000). This was one of the best ways to spend a Wednesday night - it beats watching the debate DJ Spark was on point and Frankie Darcell opened the show. This vintage venue is beautiful but rough around the edges. Balcony seats had GREAT sound. Staff check sections and caught people who tried to move seats. Parking in a garage on the other side of the block, basically behind the theater, was cash only ($20). Street parking won't work (1 hour max) and the neighborhood isn't one for night hiking. As a bonus, there's a time machine in the upstairs ladies bathroom. You sit down, your butt touches the puffy cushioned toilet seat, and you are magically transported to a crap motel in 1994. $25 toilet seats x 6 stalls = my ticket price. We had an awesome time seeing Tori Amos. I love the Tower's ambience with its dark Victorian-type vibe. I've been going to this venue since I was a teenager. The only reason why I'm not giving all 5 stars is because even tho I had a handicapped ticket, the people who worked there seemed a little clueless as to how I get to my seat. We were told to go ask someone else twice before an usher helped us. Extra bonus points to that young man that pushed my wheelchair against the departing crowd in order to get it to me so that I could leave too. That was super nice & unexpected. read more

First, I should state that I do not consider myself a great art anything. I have been to MOMA, the Louvre, etc. so I enjoy art but far from an aficionado. This was one of those experiences that you will never forget. If you have had the privilege of seeing Bodies: The Exhibition so did I and this was one of that kind of experiences. Definitely spend the extra $ for the Virtual Reality experience and don't forget to turn around and look behind you as you are going through it or you will miss some things. Tis pricy but worth it. Free parking can be had at the 69th Street Shoppers Parking Lot and at the date of this post DON'T FORGET YOUR MASK. I must also state that if I had not purchased the extra VA experience, I would not have given 5 stars. read more

Love this venue. I'm seen numerous shows here over the years ranging from B.B. King, Steely Dan, CSN, to Earth, Wind, & Fire. The parking situation is a mess and walking around the area after dark will likely get you stabbed but I usually take Septa and that is by far the most convenient way to get to and from the Tower. My favorite Tower story was years ago seeing Frampton and Robin Trower and the guy sitting two seats to my right threw up all over his seat and the seat next to me. The section usher was great and let the whole row that didn't vomit sit in any open seat we could find down in the orchestra section. read more

BEWARE the technical difficulties that can cancel your show. Got tickets for the Atlantic City show at the Hard Rock Cafe last Friday (8/5/22) Had to stay overnight, the show was our only goal. Paid $350 for hotel, gas, meals for 24 hours, checked out in time for the show, and it was delayed, then delayed again, then delayed again. Technical difficulties. They helpfully offered that they were open until 11pm. Could not stay for another night so went home (2 hours away.) Show company offered a ticket for another show, but refused a refund or any sort of compensation for the outlay I incurred. I am unable to go again and certainly not anxious to try to spend another 2 days and $350 in hopes it works this time. read more

Never again. I have been to The Tower off and on for years. The list of great concerts still boggles my own mind - David Bowie, Bruuuuuuce, Chicago, Lou Reed, Steve Miller...etc... and for that I'm grateful. The staff, however, was never very cool. They were always a bit standoffish, some downright rude... but, you can get around it by just moving on, but still... it sticks in your head. THIS time was waaaaay different My friend is severely handicapped. She had recently had another surgery and as an Old Beatles Fan she was truly looking forward to seeing Ringo in concert... and we had 5th row seats!!! I called the venue, as did my husband well ahead of time and they assured us her wheelchair would not be an issue. But it was, and it more ways than one. As soon as we were shown our seats, I said to the usher, "We can't sit here! She can't fit in!" Then she moved us down by the side of the stage where our friend was more comfortable and could see things a lot easier. I thanked the usher - a lot. THEN, came another fellow (older man with glasses) who was as rude and brusque with me as if I had just stolen the evening's take. "You can't stay here! What are you trying to pull? Get back where you belong!" I informed him we were put there by another usher and where we "belong" we couldn't fit in and we paid over 300 dollars for the tickets after we were told her handicap would would not be an issue!!! Well, it was and continued to be. To make a long story longer, by the time they all stopped arguing with us, we did NOT get to sit in our quite pricey seats, and by the time they finally seated us 7 of Ringo's songs were already sung while we were being shuttled hither and yon. Eventually, which was decent of them, they put us and our friend back in the VIP section ... maybe 30 rows back??? ... BUT everyone is standing up for 100 feet ahead of her. and now she can't see the show at all. She cannot view it from her chair. If she could have been seated where the tickets were purchased for... she could have! That was the whole point of buying them in the first place. "I can't even take a picture" she cried to me. I felt AWFUL for her. It made me angry, hurt, and sad!!!!!!!!! My husband stayed with her, while I tracked down a few more people to talk to. No one budged, so I asked if I could go down to the front to at LEAST take some photos for her. THEN, after one decent gent interceded for me, I was given the okay, for 15 minutes, to take pictures of Ringo and his band for her. And I got some great shots, but it was at such a cost to her, I mean the humiliation, the rudeness...and even the struggle she had to get ready to go to the show in the first place. But she was so happy to get to go, and, it made us feel good to see her so happy. Until all that! While Andi now has some lovely photos of Ringo and at least she "heard" him... but the evening was marred by such arrogance... even at the end when a manager came by to "make us feel a bit better" ... it was a day late and a dollar short. And, in my heart, I felt like he didn't mean what he was saying at all. Sad, huh? HOW could anyone manage a lot like those people and not know what they were doing to paying customers - HANDICAPPED customers!!! There was that one nice fella, a tall, black dude. HIs name escapes me right now, but when I remember it, I'll edit his name back in the post. He felt terrible about all of it, in fact he was the gent who actually made it possible for Andi's most-cherished Ringo photos. So, there was the one highlight of the evening. A nice man who just wanted to do the right thing. And bless his heart for that. Sadly, it won't be enough to get us to ever go back to The Tower again. Folks, don't worry about getting mugged outside the building... they'll do it for you inside of it! read more
