This place is absolutely incredible.
The atmosphere is wonderful, warm and welcoming. It has a 1800's vibe to it, very Victorian. Red velvet, gold trim kind of place. All the class with all the modern cool. The music was really modern with a couple classic traditional Irish music.
The food was nothing short of fantastic. Quickly prepared, and wildly flavorful. The service was fantastic and quick as well. We had the special of the day, the lamb burger, a pasta, and a lamb Shepard pie, and after taste-testing all of them, I can almost guarantee that the Dalkey Duck takes tremendous care of their guests and their quality of alcohol and food.
Onto the alcohol! Without a doubt - some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Delicious, well made, cared for. Each is made individually, so it does take some time as the alcohol is prepared one at a time, but boy is it worth the wait. It was fantastic. I personally ended up having 3 specialty drinks on top of your usual Guinness, Vodka-soda, etc.
Now, on top of the incredible food, drinks and atmosphere we were greeted by the wonderful, and unforgettable Emily. She works at the Dalkey Duck and she just produces such a wonderful light to the entire place. High energy, lovely conversationalist, personable. She brought such a fun, light-hearted energy to our night, and completely made our night. One of the most vibrant people I have ever met, she brings such a fun air to this incredible restaurant/bar.
There's a beer garden in the back, which is huge. So that is a huge plus. The bar/restaurant itself is quite large itself so there's room for plenty. There's live music thursday-saturday for sure. Great music, contemporary with a few traditional pieces here and there. Overall an unforgettable and fantastic night.
Without a doubt one of the best bars I've visited in Ireland. Worth the travel to get to. I would recommend this bar to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing and unforgettable night. read more
