Great variety of treats! Our first time visiting was yesterday and we will definitely be back. We tried soft serve, which was delicious and very nostalgic. Friendly staff. Great ice cream variety. Cash only. My mom wanted to come here for their version of the rainbow cone. It's pre-made (which I was kind of bummed about) but it was still pretty tasty. Way too big for just one person so I only ended up eating about half. The family in front of me ordered the strawberry and banana soft serve ice creams and I want to come back to try those. Note: I'm not familiar with the original rainbow cone so I don't know what to compare it to but my mom said it's nice to have a local version without the drive. read more

Not sure why this place hasn't been reviewed before, but maybe its because they close for the late Fall and Winter months. This place has been at this location for years, and I think the full name is Whitey's Dairy Palace (see picture). In any event, the Palace has the usual selection of soft serve and ice cream flavors ... and all are very nice. The chocolate soft serve was especially nice 5 star stuff. One in our group had a root beer float, which was 4 star delightful and was only lacking a squirt of whipped cream on top. The Palace even tries to copy the Original Rainbow Cone dish from Chicago, serving up their version here. The Palace's rainbow cone has the same five flavors, but you can tell the real deal from the imitation. The orange sherbet was 5 stars, but the pistachio and New York cherry just did not have the same richness of the Original; the strawberry and chocolate were fine. That said, their attempt at a rainbow gets a healthy 3 stars. All in all this was a very nice ice cream stop. If you tire of the Creamery and Cold Stone and Dairy Queen, give this place a try. They'll surprise you. read more

Old man who took my order could BARELY hear a word I said. He AGGRESSIVELY insisted they DO NOT put cookie dough on soft serve ice cream (an item we've ordered there several times in the past 2+ years) and arbitrarily decided to completely change my 7yo daughter's order without asking us (from a large soft serve with cookie dough and whip cream to a small hand dip cookie dough with whip). We were totally overcharged because he rang us up for something I didn't order. When I saw the item and told him our order was wrong he, again, AGGRESSIVELY yelled at me that they don't serve what I ordered (have ordered it there before for 2+ years) and I didn't know what I want. I told him it's fine, we'll take it, but it's not what we wanted. My daughter complained because she said she wanted soft serve not hand dipped (hand dipped hurts her teeth coming in). So I (again) told him we'd like soft serve. He yelled at me that they don't do that there. I then said, actually, I'd like my money back, we don't want the thing he served us at all, it's not what we asked for (wrong size, wrong ice cream, wrong price). He then SCREAMED at me in front my 7yo daughter that I'm an idiot and never welcome at his business again and slammed the window shut in my face--continuing to scream and yell at us to leave and never come back. Absolutely miserable old man who runs this place. I sincerely regret giving them $1 of my money and never will again. My daughter is at home crying at the old man who yelled at us and was absolutely awful for no reason. She did not eat the overcharged ice cream, as it hurt her teeth. This place can pound sand. What a gem of an ice cream shop! I was so impressed with the service there, specifically the older gentleman who took my family's order. I want to give him a shoutout for being exceptionally sweet to my daughter and making it a wonderful family outing. My wife personally enjoyed the soft serve which reminded her of her childhood! The service was horrible. I'm going to take it as the person taking orders could not hear me. Asked for 2 small twist cones and small twist in a cup with fudge and was charged $17. I went to the second window to try to get someone else's attention but the older man came to the window said I didn't know what I wanted when I came up to the window. I said sir that isn't true. He made a mistake and put me down for another cup originally I never ask for. When I asked him the price on the cup he got flustered and said that he can take it all back and give me my money back. My youngest son was already almost finished at this point. I told him sir I'm not asking that you're misunderstanding what I'm asking, he said maybe I am and shut the window. First time I've had a negative interaction with anyone there. I probably won't be returning. As well as being overcharged. Wasn't worth him embarrassing me because I had a question. When he said a small twist was 3.95 when it wasn't. It wasn't the point of the money but the way he was approached the situation because he couldn't hear. read more

This is a great local place for ice cream! There are a good amount of flavors to choose from so you're guaranteed to find one you like. There are picnic tables and benches outside for seating and there's always a friendly crowd enjoying the music and ice cream!
