Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant- Merrillville - Variety & Sweet wine

This is my third time trying the wine tasting. But my first time this year…read more We went here right after work at around 4:45 PM. It wasn't crowded there was couples there and a few single people. I walked in first and I legit waited for five minutes, no greeting, no service. Then the server Matthew came and asked me for my ID. I gave it to him and I let him know my friend was joining me and if he could bring out an extra menu for her. He did so about five minutes later. I mention all this because the service was not good from the start from the waiter Matthew. Once my friend came in, I noticed that the people around us everybody had two glasses and both menus so it appeared that everybody was trying a wine from each menu. Because usually they'll just pour all of the same kind of wine from both menus into one glass. But since seeing everyone around us doing it a different way, I requested we do the same. The waiter Matthew did not say anything about a glass pour limit or how having two glasses works. NOTHING! He didn't mention anything so we tried about four wines. Mind you we are chatting about work in a peaceful manner. We saw a server we were familiar with greeted him, and he poured us some wine. After that Matthew abruptly brought us our checks when we did not ask to receive them and he said we've tried eight wines already. I mentioned the fact that the couples around us have been there since before we got there and we got their last. There were no new groups of people coming in either so I thought that was strange. Matthew wasn't budging. We asked if we could try one more and he let us, but I did not appreciate him trying to cut our wine tasting short. The last time we went we had xavier last year in February and our wine tasting was great. We actually got to learn a lot of new things about the wine. The service from him was really good. He was the reason why me and my friend wanted to go back to the tasting. There was no limit on how many wines we could try. We even purchased wine bottles as a result from that tasting. Apparently the server Matt got mad at Xavier and argued with him in the back about it. But Matt needs to realize he's a rude server and needs to take notes from Xavier. All in all winetasting should be fun. Chill and relaxing, not rude. The ambience that was created wasn't safe and I couldn't enjoy my experience. Request for your favorite server to serve you because that's actually important.

When traveling for business, I set my Google Maps for "find scrapbook stores near me, and make my…read moretrip more enjoyable by stopping at Independent (Indie) stores to see the cool thing they offer that you cannot get at big box stores. Cafe Crop was a rare scrapbook find! I so wish I lived closer (4 hours away), because I would be there all the time creating PaperArt, laughing, and talking! Big space with lots of "indie" products that you will not find at the big box stores Cool "kits" that they put together for classes and create extra to sale those who cannot attend class. The kit has all products and instruction sheet. I bought a Graphic45 Christmas Lantern & Accordian Fold Tag Albion. Even the directions are gorgeous!! Color-printed with step-by-step guidance, instructional pictures and supply list (which you don't need if you buy the kit!!!). These are definitely a keeper for other projects. Pretty, pretty, pretty!! Lots of table space with an open invitation to stop by and scrap any time. I LOVE that idea. What a great way to bring in and build relationships with clients. Full coffee bar for those who enjoy a hot cups while scrapping or shopping. Another winner!! No wonder this satire has brought in specail classes from Graphic45 and had the amazing Finnabair visit their shop, hold a class and leave them with a gorgeous Finnabair original. I was drooling (on the inside)! Give them a chance when you are in the area, you will not be disappointed.

I came to the Southgate Shopping Center and visited Thomas Photogenic on 1/13/18. I explained what I needed and the business owners were very friendly with me and told me that the picture was still in good shape. They were very gentle and able to remove the original picture covered in plastic and taped on the backside and suggested I go next door to Art Corner where they could frame it. I thanked them and went next door to Art Corner. I walk in with the picture and met Pam, the owner. She took special care with the picture and complimented how beautiful the picture was. They were able to make a scan of the picture to save and touch up the original picture. She showed me a frame that looked antique and when I put frame with the picture, it looked like it would work nicely. So, Pam went in the back to work on putting the picture in the frame to secure it. When she finished and brought it out from the workroom in the back, I started crying because it looked so beautiful together. She hugged me like I was family and told me this is what makes her job worthwhile. I thanked her many times. In December, 2018, I came back to Art Corner to get a scanned copy of the picture of my late Mom made for my sister and a copy framed to give to my grandmother as a surprise. She's in a nursing home now and thought all of her belongings in her apartment were disposed of. When I walked in, I was greeted by Ryan and Stephanie who both were pleasant to work with. They explained that Pam had sold the business and that they were the owners now. Both of them worked hard to give me what I wanted at a more than fair price. I picked the same frame as the original picture is in, it had to be ordered which took several days to come in. They are so customer service oriented that Stephanie came in on Christmas Eve to meet me to pick up my order as both were Christmas gifts. How rare & awesome is that? This review is long overdue but I am happy to share about this outstanding business. Trust them, they know what they are doing and care about their craft and product. Thank you Art Corner, I smile every time I see your name and you have made so many of my family happy, including in the heavens. A+++!
