Thursday is food truck day downtown. On this fine Thursday, I walked by and noticed this adorable food truck. The tiny truck is aqua, with a little window showcasing the assortment of beautiful cupcakes. There is an adorable girl swiftly managing the long line of people. She even matched the adorable theme! She was wearing cute little overalls, with perfect eyeliner and a little bandana in her high ponytail. The whole thing just looked like a movie. Some of the cupcake flavors are: Rocky Road, Strawberry Sweetheart, Tres Leches, Birthday Cake, Banana Cream Pie, Snickerdoodle, Red Velvet.... The frosting is stacked high and each cupcake is decorated so sweet. After my lunch (from Tako BBQ), I ordered 2 cupcakes. I could not decide which two to pick, so at the last second I went with the strawberry sweetheart and the rocky road. I take my first bite of the rocky road. The frosting is high so I have to open my mouth super wide in order to get the perfect bite. The frosting is not mega sweet (yay), but it is super soft and creamy. It is surrounded by marshmallows and slivers of nuts. The chocolate cake is super soft, and is absolutely not dry inside. Next I tried the strawberry one. It is white cake, with strawberry mousse inside topped with whipped cream and a homemade candy heart. The candy heart is a bit too sweet for me, but the whipped cream on top was yummy!!! Generally I find cupcakes to be dry, overly sweet, and boring. The cupcakes at this truck were ok. They were too sweet for me, but they were creative and there was a nice variety. There were twelve different cupcakes when we walked up. Strangely, none of them were labeled. I just didn't get that. We tried three different cupcakes: peanut butter chocolate, candy corn, and something like a vanilla-caramel-cream cheese. They were all fine. The consensus was that they weren't necessarily better than homemade from a box. The odd part of the experience was that, when it was time to pay, after presenting their credit cards, customers were told, "You have the option of giving a 15% tip or a 20% tip." We visited the storefront in the mall and got 6 different flavors to try: Red Velvet, Oreo Explosion, Banana Cream Pie, Strawberry Shortcake, Tres Leches, and Chocolate Peanut Butter They were all so delicious that it's hard to pick a favorite. Also snagged a couple pup-cakes that our girl gives two paws up! Can't wait to try more! read more

Really great little cupcake boutique! Nice service! Everything looked amazingly delicious! They have a lot of different cupcake choices. My mother picked the banana and I picked the most popular one. Strawberry shortcake. They were actually sold out of them until the worker made new ones. You can follow them on Instagram or Facebook and they will let you know where the truck is going or what they made for the day! Omg! Amazingly delicious! Not bad but not the best either. I feel as though the cupcakes are just very average. So far I've only had the white chocolate raspberry and wasn't the biggest fan. I didn't not like it but it was kind of just whatever...I wasn't expecting the raspberry filling but also didn't mind it. My favorite bite was the very top just frosting and the raspberry it's self. For the price ($2.75) I would try again but a new flavor! read more

These cupcakes were dry, not cooked and rubbery. I asked for strawberry and got some rubbery, no flavor cupcake! It was made for my daughter birthday and every kid spit it out and was upset because they wanted cake! I was so upset. When I went to let them know, the "OWNER" got upset with me, blamed me and said cake isn't meant for everyone! Also, felt disrespected because I told them how they tasted to children. I don't eat cake, but my child only eats strawberry cake and that is what I asked for, and she spoke about children that way! If I could give a negative star I would. Don't waste your money on them! I Placed an order through their form on the website. Got a response a few hours later asking a question. I answered and never heard back. I emailed a few more times and never heard back again. I had no idea if the order was actually placed because I didn't pay. I Texted the number the day I need the cake and got a response 7 hours later with sorry did you need the cake this weekend. I said I filled out the form to order a cake online 5 days ago and I needed it today. They never responded after that. Therefore I never got the cake I wanted for my husbands birthday. Customer service is lacking. I called the cupcake Route on Thursday to put in a simple custom order but there wasn't an answer but then I got an automated text message stating I could text the number my questions so I proceed to explain what I was looking for and I got a reply back right away asking about servings sizes and I told them what I wanted along with a photo for reference. I never got a confirmation or anything so I waited a few days and texted back asking for a confirmation. They replied that they were sorry and asked me some more questions about flavors and what time I was going to pick it up. I told them what time I needed the cake and then they told me oh sorry we need three days advance notice and they will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. So basically my complaint is if you're going to have an option to take text orders at least reply in a timely manner and actually follow through with the order. I now have to figure out how to get my baby his first birthday cake somewhere else last minute. read more
