We tried to pick the cookie up it was so soft, underbaked and thin it's falling apart. The strip waffle is completely raw and greasy looking. The gelato cookie looked fine but is also way under baked and crumbling when we cut it in half to eat.. Such a waste of money. They were delivered very quickly so that's not the issue. I took a video but it won't let me post it here. With as expensive these cookies are we should be receiving a quality product not the half assed product we received. Will not be buying anything from this store again because the employees and managers apparently do not care about sending out a good product to customers.

Unfortunately I showed up midday and they were sold out of a lot of items…read more This place is located downtown Visalia so parking during peak hours is awful. The reason for 2 stars is due to seeing a couple of flies in within the baked goods display case. Restaurants and bakeries should invest in down-draft or downward-blowing air curtains that create a high-velocity barrier of air over open doors and entryways to block flies and other pests from entering a building. Unfortunately I didn't see the flies until after I paid for my order. I will have to observe better in the future. I purchased 4 items and my total was roughly $32 1. Tokyo Toast is my absolute favorite and unfortunately they only had one left. This is thick-cut of Japanese milk bread that is lightly caramelized...so delicious! 5/5 2. Banana Boat, a round croissant type pastry with a center filled with banana cream and topped with a meringue. 5/5 3. Pistachio croissant 5/5 4. Marshmallow croissant 5/5 Their baked goods are outstanding and customer service is decent. They're a bit pricey. They have a very small eating area. My overall rating reflects the couple of flies in the baked goods display case. But the baked goods are a 5-star rating

Rosalinda went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for our wedding reception!…read moreShe was happy to work within our budget and charged much less than other caterers in the area. Other caterers couldn't be bothered to respond to messages or send menus. Rosalinda responded promptly to messages and provided the kind of individualized attention that one wants when planning a special event like a wedding reception. I felt very good about supporting this small family business. I was amazed at how many different types of cuisine Melrose International offers. We ended up having Mexican and Filipino food with gluten-free and vegetarian options. Rosalinda was even willing to make a garlic-free meal for one guest who can't eat garlic! The enchiladas and Mexican rice were my favorite dishes. Rosalinda and her employees worked very hard, including cooking on a grill outside in the hot sun at our reception venue. Her staff was efficient in serving food and even put the leftovers in containers we provided. One bit of advice: make sure to read over the detailed order list Rosalinda provides. I didn't read it closely enough, and there were some differences between what we had discussed and what was listed. I take responsibility for not paying closer attention. There were just too many things to do at the same time. Rosalinda offered to cut our wedding cake (made by someone else) for no additional charge, something no other caterer in the area seems to offer. (They often charge $2/slice!) I would definitely recommend Melrose International Catering and Bakery.

I have heard about this chocolate shop for about a decade, but as it is about 70 miles from my…read morehome, I had not been there. But on a recent Quilt shop hop, imagine my surprised to discover the Quilt store was two doors down from Stafford's. I think that was a sign that I had to go visit. The double sign was that the quilt shop gave away coupons during their event for one free piece of chocolate. So for my free piece of chocolate, I chose the red wine truffle. Oh my goodness, I had to close my eyes to savor it, the taste was that sensational! The shop itself is beautiful. It has tables inside so you can sit and enjoy their confections. All of the shelves are lined with all kinds of specialty chocolates. These include chocolate covered nuts, truffles, bars, Pops, and all kinds of delicious concoctions. You can order single pieces at the front counter for an individual choice and they will compose a box of your selections. They also had many, many packaged items ready to go on the shelves. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about their offerings. They were willing to explain the different flavors; the cost of a box of six individual truffles which you can select was $12.50. There's parking in front of the shop on the street and also behind. It's nestled in the Porterville downtown area with multiple Restaurants and eateries very close by. One could have a fun day window shopping, lunching out and then popping by Stafford's for a sweet treat and to buy gifts to take home. Absolutely not to be missed!
